Chapter Text
Onyx laid in a cold, cold, bed…
He didn’t remember much, except that…
He tried to stab his parent, Two Time…
They had sacrificed their true love…
For a hoax…
Spawnism was a hoax…
But someone pushed him away…
And that person had a handsome face…
And gentle, strong hands…
It felt like a dream…
But what did Onyx know?
Wait, where was he?
Onyx sat up. He was in a strange padded room, he had never seen anything like it before.
Was this outside of the cult? It had to be.
He tried to feel his surroundings, but he was in some sort of…restraints?
Why would he need to be here? In this dark padded room with restraints.
He hated this. Every single second.
A door opened, and his head turned. A doctor with long brown hair walked over to him.
Onyx had never been around real medicine. His dad used plants to cure illness, but he was long gone.
“Who the hell are you?” Onyx grumbled, trying not to look at his doctor.
“I’m Dr. S, and you shall refer to me as such,” The doctor addressed themself.
“Now, this is a mental hospital, if you’ve heard of that before,”
Onyx had. His twin sister often joked that their parent Two Time should be in one.
“One of our doctors here admitted you due to insanity,” Dr. S looked at her clipboard.
“Insane? I’m not insane!” Onyx was now mad pissed. “It’s my parent! They killed my dad!”
“Well, it doesn’t say anything about that in your notes,” Dr. S growled.
Holy, this person was getting on Onyx’s nerves. If he wasn’t restrained he would punch her face inward.
“Leave me alone,” Onyx whispered. “Pardon?” “I said leave me alone!” This time, it was a cry.
Dr. S rolled their eyes and walked out, locking the door. With that, Onyx tried to get out of his bed.
It was hard, but he managed. He walked around, trying to gain a sense of composure.
He saw a busy, paved street outside his window. He had never seen a street before.
Life in the cult was so…restraining. Even more than a straitjacket.
It looked like winter outside. Yeah, it was winter in the cult, so it would still be winter.
But he didn’t know the date or how long he was out for. He didn’t know anything.
Could he get out of this straitjacket? He tried to move his arms behind him, but no luck.
Why was he stuck in this goddamned mental asylum for trying to protect his family?
His sister? He missed Opal so much. Would she visit him or was she unaware of where he was?
Suddenly, there was a knock at his door. Seriously? He turned and saw Dr. S.
“It’s group time,” They walked over to Onyx and gently shook his arm. “You coming?”
“Leave me alone,” Onyx grumbled. Now that they were close, he saw that Dr. S had tears in her eyes.
“Well, you need to come,” Dr. S stood Onyx up, which made him even more pissed.
“No! No, you can’t make me!” Onyx kicked them back, thank god his legs weren’t restrained.
Dr. S swiftly stood up and grabbed Onyx. They were admittedly scared of this kid.
He reminded Dr. S of her parents.
And Dr. S didn’t like to talk about them.
“Please don’t make me go! I can’t! I won’t!” Onyx stomped at the ground, furious.
Why was he acting like a child? Probably because he was so upset that his whole world was gone.
“I can’t mark you as unfit yet!” Dr. S yelled back. “You need to go for at least a class!”
If he wasn’t restrained, he would surely show her what was “unfit”.
“I can’t go out with the others! I want to go home!” Onyx cried, but Dr. S didn’t care.
“You can’t go home, you are too mentally ill!” “Mentally ill? Mentally ill?” Onyx stomped more.
Dr. S grabbed a cloth from their pocket and restrained it around Onyx’s mouth.
Onyx tried to bite off the cloth, but he couldn’t. Dr. S tied the cloth and grabbed Onyx.
She dragged him out of the padded room and locked the door behind them.
