Summary
Two years after Shane and Ilya announce their friendship and launch their charity together Shane finally reaches breaking point when the Metros make it very clear they will never stop hating Ilya. Shane decides it time for a change and leaves the Metros along with making other changes in his life starting with removing his mother as his manager because he wants things that don't align with what she has planned out for him. Shane loses friends and makes new ones while also realising plans can always change. Ilya finally tells Shane about his own mental health struggles that Shane never knew about.

Two years of listening to his team-mates berate and insult Ilya every single time Shane was in the locker room for a game or practise had finally come to the point where Shane was sick of listening to it every day. Shane knew that Hayden hated Ilya but seeing his best friend join in with their team-mates and bond over their hatred of Ilya Rozanov made Shane wonder if Hayden had ever been a true friend at all.
