Chapter Text
If Simon would have known of the horrors that would unfold at Rylands school that day, he would have lay in bed holding him tightly all morning and never let go. He wouldn't have cared if he got fired for not showing up, sure he loved his job. It was great teaching high school, He preferred it a little more than the middle school he originally started teaching at. His classroom may not be right by Grace’s anymore, but the 2 schools were right by each other with connected front parking lots. Making it much easier for pickup and drop off for parents with different aged kids, or older siblings that drove their younger siblings. Simon and Ryland even ate lunch with each other during break. He just wanted the man he loved most to stay safe.
When the morning first began and the alarm went off from Simon's phone waking him up, he tried to rub the sleepiness from his eyes, but quickly noticed he couldn't due to Grace laying on his only arm that he wrapped around his chest beside him leaving Simon with only his stub free from cuddle jail.
With Rylands phone alarm going off as well, he was no longer allowed to ignore the morning Grace blinked his eyes open, slowly embracing the warm sun glow coming from the curtains in the apartment they shared.
Simon wiggled the arm Grace currently had stolen to try and wake him up a tad more. “Ryland.. Hun” his voice deeper than it is during the day like every morning, he shifted around a bit more “Angel, I need my arm back please.”
Grace groaned, turning to face Simon who gave him a kiss on the forehead as he did.
He sat up freeing Simon's arm then grabbed his chin pulling him into another kiss, “morning dear.” he muttered his voice low and scratchy still waking up.
Simon smiled at his boyfriend “You want me to make you coffee like always?” Ryland glanced up to Simon and turned the alarm going on his phone off “Two spoo-” Simon interrupted “Two small spoons of sugar stirred in while it's hot so it dissolves, and one ice cube so it's not too hot to drink but just hot enough. Yes darling I know.” he said lovingly with a bit of tease in his voice.
Grace blinked a little, surprised his boyfriend went out of his way to memorize how he liked his coffee, but it made sense enough as it was, he learned Simon loved doing little things for the people he loved.
Ryland opened his side of the dresser drawer while Simon got the coffee for the both of them started. picking up one of his science pun t-shirts for the first day of spirit week at his school. The theme for today was ‘duo or squad’ and he (not so ironically) bought matching shirts for him and Simon. He put on the one that spelt out ‘H U N K’ with the elements. While the one for simon had the elements spell out ‘BA BE’ ,
he set that one on the bed and put on some jeans and sneakers and walked into the bathroom to brush his teeth
Simon made Rylands cup of coffee in his favorite mug as well as his own in the navy blue hydroflask he then sat on the counter and walked back into their room to put on his prosthetic.
