Summary
King Tiberius of Olmgalad has no wife, although his line is secured through a single legitimate bastard. The common folk often remark at how lonely he might be, since he regularly rebuffs the advances of the many noble ladies who make it clear they would be willing to wed the man, even as he approaches a half-century of life. "Poor King Tiberius," the folk of Olmgalad say, "he must be so cold with his bed so empty."
Some of the palace servants know the real reason King Tiberius rejects the advances of women his own age, and it has nothing to do with a bed that is--through no desire of the King's companions--decidedly not lonely.
