A mere week away from reaching Erid, Simon overhears an argument between Grace and Rocky, one concerning a secret that Grace apparently should have told Simon long ago. Whatever it is that Grace and Rocky aren't telling him, it's a liability, and if they won't tell him themselves, he'll figure it out on his own. Unfortunately for Simon, this causes problems.
If Simon thought his encounters with monsters had ended when he escaped the blood ocean, he was very wrong.
