Summary
Nikolai was hot-headed, impulsive, and hellbent on proving himself and getting into Vanguard was only the beginning.
Now he has to earn his place among the Republic’s future military leaders, survive its war games, and prove that the Volkov name can stand for something other than treason.
Preferably without getting himself killed in the process—or driving his new captain, Gunther, completely insane.
Under Gunther’s command and discipline, Nikolai begins to learn that strength isn’t just about being reckless and that maybe, one day, he can become more than the name he inherited.
