A Muted Love

Summary:

MJ has been selectively mute since she was a kid and has barely spoken since never really trusting anyone, until she meets her losers, especially Peter Parker; with him, she is able to finally find her voice again,

Work Text:

My father was an asshole.

I don't remember him very much; all I have left are the quiet memories. Mother loves to tell my brother and me that Dad was a “great man,”  when in reality he was an alcoholic, cheating abuser.

Not that Mother knows that, through well drinking, yes, he took out on her enough to leave a scar, but that he hurt in ways I refuse to say even now that he’s dead.

I remember that night so clearly; he was so stupid to think that, at 9 years old, I was very observant of him—well, of everything, still am—but that night I was awoken to the sound of the loud yet silent voices of my father and his mistress Renee. I remember that dreadfully because he didn't show emotion, especially happiness, yet he seemed so happy being with her.

“Daddy?” I remember calling out to him after that homewrecker left; he didn't even realize I was home. He thought Mother took me to Nanna’s because she took Miles over there on the way to work—she’s a night-shift nurse.

“Mitchie? I thought you were at Nanna’s,” Father said in surprise.

I scrunched up my face after realizing what a piece of shit my father is.

“I have homework. Mama said that it would be okay if I stayed here for the night and to just call her if something is wrong.”

Father nodded. “You uh, didn’t see—”

“You kissing that woman? Yeah, I did,” I told him, matter-of-factly crossing my arms and raising my brow.

For a cop, Father was a dumbass.

“Don't tell your mother, Mitchie?”

I cringe; I always hated that nickname, and even more so now.

“It's MJ, and why not? Mom should know you piece of shi—” I started to shout, but that's when the unexpected happened: he grabbed my throat, squeezing it slightly, pure rage in his dead eyes.

If I ever hear you speak of this to your mother, you're dead. If I hear you speak at all your dead. You hear me, Mitchie, dead!” Father shouted as he released his grip on my throat, throwing me against the wall.

After that night, I never spoke again, not to my mother, only to Miles, but even then it's a rare thing. I lost hope and trust that night; who believes a 9-year-old over a drunkard police captain?

That night is when I knew that hope really was for suckers; there's no hope for me. At least that's what she thought before I met...him.

And my silence was finally broken.

MJ hates being the new kid in school. She hates the odd looks and the whispers behind her back as she walked the halls.

She couldn't help but roll her eyes as she opened her locker.

Don't get it wrong, she’s happy that her mother got a promotion. It means more pay, but it also means moving into a new city, which she hates most about her new peers here at Midtown.

Flash Thompson is the worst. He thinks he is the boy king because his daddy is a big donor to the school and thinks he can get away with bullying everyone just because.

But he seems to target one kid in particular, Peter Parker, the shy yet always kind kid that she couldn’t help but observe—well, him and his friend, Ned.

Peter never seems to be bothered by Flash, but she could tell it was starting to bother him.

“Yo, penis Pete!”

Speaking of the devil, MJ thought, as Flash shouted the stupid nickname he had for Peter across the hall.

“What now, Flash?” Peter asked, clearly annoyed with the bullies' antics already.

MJ rolled her eyes, making an annoyed face as she watched silently, not noticing that Flash saw it until it was too late.

“What, weirdo? Got a problem!” Flash shouted and started walking towards her aggressively as MJ just raised a brow at him.

Then suddenly Flash was pushed by Peter rather harshly, not daring to use his full strength.

“Leave her alone, Flash,” Peter said, standing in front of MJ protectively.

Flash scoffed, getting off the ground, looking at Peter in disbelief and disgust.

“Yeah, whatever,” Flash said, walking toward his friends.

“Dude, that was so cool,” Ned gushed next to Peter, who smiled and turned to MJ with his hand out for a handshake.

“I am Peter,” he said.

MJ just stared at his hand for a moment before rolling her eyes and walking away.

“What total losers,” she thought, smiling to herself.

Peter just stood there blushing, looking at Ned, confused, who just shrugged, loving that the new girl didn’t put up with Flash’s shit.

Chemistry class was a total bust. Mrs Warren had told MJ to introduce herself or tried to make her; she handed the teacher a note. Mrs Warren looked at MJ oddly for a moment.

“I don’t talk. I’m mute,” the teacher read to the class, who laughed—well, all except for two: Peter and Ned, who just looked at one another and nodded before turning back to their computers.

MJ sat down next to Betty Brant, who only smiled at her, and MJ just gave a small one back before turning to her computer. The class was relatively easy, but she did spend most of it watching Peter with interest; there was something about Peter Parker.

Her thoughts were cut off by the bell, so she headed for lunch.

She grabbed a seat near the back and grabbed her book, “War and Peace,” and started to read it when she noticed that Peter and Ned sat down at her table.

She rolled her eyes, turning back to her book as the two losers talked about Star Wars. She looked at them, squinting her eyes, noticing Peter was eating two trays' worth of food. “Interesting,” she thought as Peter turned to her with a bright smile.

She smiled back, a genuine one this time.

“I know you're mute, but you're seriously the coolest person ever met. I mean, you're reading War and Peace, " Peter rambled, making MJ chuckle under her breath. Oh, she likes this kid.

“You're rambling again, Peter, " Ned says, lightly elbowing Peter in the arm.

“Oh right, I am Peter... Parker. This is—” Peter started to say as Ned cut him off.

“Ned Leeds,” Ned said happily to her.

MJ doesn't walk away this time simply takes out her notepad, turning to the boys.

Michelle, but everyone calls me MJ.

Peter smiles gleefully, looking down at her very neat handwriting on the piece of paper. “Nice to meet you, MJ.”

“You too, Parker,” she writes.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
As the weeks went by, the three became closer, and more people left Peter alone.
Everyone was scared of MJ. Her silent but deadly glare rivaled that of the black widow, and no one ever heard MJ speak.
Flash had dubbed her the mute freak, to which she glared at him, then flipped him off with a smirk across her face as Peter and Ned laughed beside her. MJ began to relax some; she even started to notice Peter's longing looks at her that he thinks she doesn't notice, but she does every time and blushes as Peter looks away once he notices her staring back.
“Yo, penis, how’s that internship going?” Flash jabs at him, not noticing MJ walking to the locker; she couldn’t help raising a brow, confused.
 “Internship? What internship?” she thought.
“It’s fine, Flash,” Peter mumbled, annoyed, as Flash was edging closer to him.
“Does your little girl know that you suck off Tony Stark? Like how else would you get the internship?”
Peter turns red. “What did you just say?”
“Oh, I know that you suck Tony Star—” Flash starts before he is cut off by Peter punching Flash in the face, snarling at him in rage, making MJ very flustered, not knowing what to do.
Then she looked at Ned to see he too was stunned, seeing Peter snap like that.
You going to help him, loser?” MJ writes to ned on a blank piece of paper in the notebook in her hands.
“No, I want to see what happens,” Ned says.
MJ just raises her brow before shrugging, watching Peter stalk over to Flash like he was prey.
“I don't care what you say about me, but you know you're not right to say that about Tony Stark,” Peter hisses as Flash smirks.
“Or what, you going to cry to mommy and daddy? Oh wait, you can’t cause they're fucking dead, penis,” Flash mocked.
MJ was seething with rage as she heard what he said. “What the actual fuck!” she thought.
“Well, penis, how else would you get this internship? Because you're definitely not smart enough for it. Enlighten me, penis.” Flash jeered as he poked Peter’s chest, pushing him into the lockers.
Peter was trying not to tear up.
“Fuck you, Flash,” he hissed through his teeth, catching everyone by surprise as Flash punched Peter hard in the face, his nose clearly broken and his face busted and bleeding.
“No, Peter, you got that Tony for that. Stupid orphan penis, Parker.”
That’s when Peter started to cry as Flash mocked him, and that was MJ’s final straw. Watching Peter start to crumble underneath Flash's words broke something in her. As Flash punched Peter again, she shoved him harder against the lockers and swiftly punched him in the face, taking everyone by surprise.
“MJ?” Ned asked in shock.
“Whoa, " Peter mumbled, slightly dazed.
Nobody hurts you, not on my watch,she wrote quickly.
When Principal Morita finally walked into the hall, taking in the scene in front of him and sighed.
“Thompson, Parker, Jones, my office, now.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

As their walking out of Principal Morita’s office, Peter was sporting a shiny new black eye and a broken nose, while Flash was still being chewed by his dad and Mortia.

MJ couldn’t help but smile in glee at the look of terror in Flash’s eyes when Dad showed up.

“Karma’s a bitch daddy boy,” she thought as she looked at Peter, then at her bloody knuckles, when Peter suddenly stopped and turned to her. “Not that I'm not grateful, but why help me? I mean, don’t get me wrong, that's totally badass, but now you've got detention for 2 weeks…why?”

She rolls her eyes, grabbing his face and kissing him, taking him by surprise, but he kisses her back.

She pulls away, staring at Peter's wide-eyed expression, then she chuckles.

I don't really have much luck when it comes to getting close to people, and yet with you I feel safe,” she writes in her notebook, showing Peter while blushing, and quickly adds, “I really like you.

Peter chuckles softly, smiling. “I really like you, too.”

Good,” she writes before quickly pulling Peter towards her and kissing him again, Peter melting into her touch, wrapping his arms around her waist as she smiles into the kiss.

“FINALLY!!!” they hear from behind them, startling the two apart, and turn to see who shouted.

“Ned, dude!” Peter exclaims, and MJ blushes brightly.

“Sorry, but I’m just so happy for you two. It's about time. Betty and I were taking bets, and I won.”

MJ raised her brow, confused.

“Betty?” she writes.

“My girlfriend, she’s your chemistry partner,” Ned says happily.

MJ nods; of course, Ned would be dating Betty Brant.

“How much?” MJ writes curiously.

“MJ!!” Peter exclaims, still red, as she shrugs, looking at Ned.

“30 bucks.”

The three continue their walk to the parking lot, talking about their upcoming chemistry test when Ned’s mother arrives. “Uh, I gotta go, guys. I'll text you later, Peter.”

Peter nods.

“Yeah, man, see you tomorrow night for game night?”

Ned scoffs. “Dude, I wouldn’t miss it. I’ve got to beat Clint at Mario Kart. I swear he cheats,” Ned says, getting into the car.

Peter laughs.

“Clint?” MJ thought, watching Mrs Leeds drive off, turning to Peter when a loud honking sound startled the two.

“Peter, get Mr Stark is waiting. You know how he gets,” Happy says, annoyed. Peter blushes but turns to MJ, kissing her on the cheek.

“I'll text you later.”

You better,she writes with a smile as Happy looks at the couple, confused, as Peter gets in the car.

MJ smiles, walking to her mother's car. “Everything okay, Mitchie?”

Her mother says, noticing her daughter's bloody knuckles. MJ cringes at the nickname her father gave her. “Perfectly fine, Mom,” she writes as her mother drives off.

Happy turns to Peter as they pull out of the school parking lot.

“Who was that, Pete?”

Peter couldn’t help but smile. “My girlfriend, MJ.”

Happy smiled, proud of the kid. “You know Dad’s going to want to meet her, right?”

Peter sighed with a smile, looking out the window. “I know, Hap.”

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Two weeks later, the couple was official. Nobody was surprised; everyone at Midtown saw the yearning looks between the two of them, and Betty was slightly peeved that she lost the bet to Ned, but he was adorable, so she wasn't too upset, and seeing Ned’s dorky grin made up for the lost thirty bucks, plus seeing Peter and MJ happy was a delight to see.
However, what surprised everyone was how affectionate MJ was with Peter. She was known as the mute freak, or some dubbed her scary girl for her deathly glare, but with Peter she was relaxed, and she proved that she was a force to be reckoned with when it came to her losers.
Every kiss and every time they held hands brought a smile to MJ's face, and Peter loved it when she smiled. She had a beautiful smile.
She was opening her locker, grabbing her bag, when Peter walked to her with a gleeful grin, making her raise a brow suspiciously.
What is it, loser?”  she wrote in her notebook as Peter blushed.
“My parents want to meet you,” Peter said quickly, and she almost didn't catch it.
What?” she wrote, confused as Peter sighed.
“We’ve been dating for almost three weeks, and my parents want to meet you.”
“Huh,” she thought to herself as she stared at him dumbly.
Okay,she wrote, showing the paper to Peter, who looked like he was about to faint.
“Okay?” he repeated breathlessly as MJ nodded, trying not to show how anxious she really was.
Sure, when, loser?”’ she writes.
Peter sighed with relief. “How about today after school?” he asked her.
Alright, see you then, loser,” she writes and kisses Peter's cheek with a smirk, walking off to her next class, leaving a blushing and stunned Peter behind.
“Oh, she is not ready,” he mumbles to himself as he made his way to his next class, texting his dad that MJ said yes and is coming over after school.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Peter and MJ walked out of the school with Ned by their side, chatting happily about the newest Spider-Man fight, MJ not noticing as Peter's eyes went wide at the mention of Spider-Man's most recent injury.

“Like, Scorpion got Spider-Man's left arm, like, that's gotta leave a massive scar, so yeah, MJ, that's what everyone's been raving about all day, but at least Spidey was able to get him locked up with the help of Iron Man. So cool!”

MJ rolls her eyes at the mention of Tony Stark; to her, he's nothing but an ignorant bastard. The real superhero was his wife, Pepper Potts.

“I just asked why everyone's talking about Spider-Man. I didn't ask about Tony Stark, Ned.”

“Right, sorry, MJ,” Ned mumbles, looking at Peter

“You don’t like Tony Stark?” Peter asked, his voice cracking, trying to keep his facial expression from revealing his secret.

Not really. I like his wife more. Pepper Potts is her own kind of genius and so often gets overlooked by her husband when it's her who’s the true mastermind behind Stark Industries. All Tony is, well, Iron Man. I get why you like him, though,she writes out, showing the two, who nod in understanding.

Peter couldn’t help but smile. “Yeah, Ms Potts is a total badass.” It felt weird calling his mother Ms Potts, but MJ doesn’t know yet.

Exactly,she writes with a smirk on her face.

 A horn honks, startling the trio. Ned sighs, annoyed, seeing that it's his mother.

“I gotta go, guys, but text me later. I need the details on MJ meeting family went. See ya!”

Peter nods with a chuckle, doing his signature handshake with Ned before his best friend walks away. “See ya, Ned!”

Peter turns to MJ, who is just looking at him weirdly. “I got to warn you, my family is rather crazy.”

Isn’t everyones?”

Peter laughed. “I guess, but mine, uh, unique, I guess.”

MJ wanted to ask him what he meant, but then Happy pulled into the parking lot, looking rather annoyed.

Peter opens the door, MJ rolling her eyes with a chuckle.

What a gentleman,” she writes as she gets into the car, noticing Happy’s rather unhappy face.

“I am always a gentleman,” Peter mutters as he sits next to her, holding her hand, as Happy grunts.

She looks at Peter, confused. “Is he always like this?”

Peter nods as Happy rolls up the divider. “Always.”

 The two worked on their homework as Happy drove.

“We’re here, Pete!” Happy announced, turning into the parking lot of Stark Tower.

Peter sighed, turning to MJ as MJ looked at him, speechless, before grabbing her notebook to write something for Peter.

“Why the hell are we at Stark Tower? I thought I was meeting your parents.”

“You are. I promise I'll explain once we’re inside,” he tells her as he helps her out of the car, saying a quick goodbye to Happy, who just waved him off.

“You better, Peter,” she thinks as he pulls towards the entrance

He waves at the security guards and receptionist, who wave back at him cheerfully.

As he walks up to the receptionist desk, he greets the receptionist, Linda, with a smile. “Hello, Linda, how are the kids?” he asks her.

“Oh, Peter, they’re just fine. Margo just started middle school, and Jeremy just got married.”

Peter grins. “Awesome, tell them congrats from me, please!”

Linda smiles brightly at the young Stark. “Of course, Peter. Now, how can I help you?”

“I need you to make a new ID card, please,” Peter says, motioning to MJ, who is just watching the interaction with a very curious stare.

“Oh, this must be MJ!” Linda gushes as she prints out the new ID card for MJ.

Peter couldn’t help but blush. “Yes…how do you already have her information?” Peter questions.

Linda scoffs with a smile. “Your father, of course.”

Peter sighs, “Of course. Thank you, Linda.”

“Anytime, Peter,” she calls to him as he and MJ walk to the private entrance, showing MJ her card. She couldn't help but stare at it.

It was silver platinum with the number 9 on it and her full name. She raised a curious brow but shrugged, watching as Peter swiped his card.

“Hello, Mini Stark. Good to see you are home. How was school?” a voice said, startling MJ as she looked at Peter nervously.

“Mini Stark?” she wondered.

Peter laughed as MJ hit him in the arm for laughing at her.

“My day was fine. Friday, I'd like you to meet someone, my girlfriend, MJ. And MJ, meet Friday; she’s the tower's AI,” he told her.

“Hello, MJ. I am Friday. Nice to meet you.”

MJ nodded, still stunned that the ceiling was talking to her, as Peter showed her how to swipe her ID.

“Michelle Jones, ‘MJ.’ MINI STARKS GIRLFRIEND. SILVER PLATINUM LEVEL 9…Welcome, MJ.”

She turns to Peter, confused.

Mini Stark?” she writes.

“I promise I'll explain everything soon,” he tells her as he holds her hand, making her tense demeanor melt slightly as they get into the private elevator.

He looks at the ceiling. “Friday, floor 99, please.”

“Of course, Mini Stark,” the AI replies.

The two rode in silence as Peter stroked MJ's hand, seeing how anxious she was.

She smiled softly as he smiled back. The elevator dings; she couldn't help but stare

“What the fuck?” she thought, her mouth open slightly as Peter pulled her toward the man before them.

“MJ, meet my dad, Tony Stark.”

You're a Stark???” she writes, flabbergasted.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“Surprise…” Peter says nervously, scratching the back of his neck.
“Nice to meet you, MJ,” Tony finally says, noticing the tension in the room, holding out his hand for her to shake, but she glares at it. He stares back at her, confused, making Peter roll his eyes.
“Dad shes mute, remember,”  Peter tells his dad, annoyed that his dad forgot that his girlfriend was mute.
Tony snaps his fingers, turning to Peter. “Right, right. I forgot, sorry.”
MJ just rolls her eyes at him.
“Not a big fan of me, I see,” Tony jokes.
“What gave it away?” she writes out, making Peter chuckle and Tony pout.
“She's a keeper, Pete. I like her. She's scary, just like your mother,” Tony says, smiling at Peter proudly.
MJ straightened up at the mention of Pepper. Mother. Is Pepper your mother?”
“Well, not biologically. My birth mom gave Dad custody of me.”
MJ nodded. Sorry, that sucks.”
“Not really. I always had my dad and my real mom, Pepper,” Peter says, smiling as Tony pulled him towards him.
“My best creation I ever made,” Tony says sappily, making MJ chuckle and Peter blush.
“Dad, stop!” Peter exclaims as he shoves Tony away.
“Tony, what did you do now?” Pepper asks with her arms crossed, walking over to her husband and son, seeing Peter's reddened face.
“Oh, you know me, Pep, just embarrassing Petey here in front of his girlfriend.”
Pepper turns, making a shocked face upon seeing MJ standing there, completely shocked, seeing Pepper Potts in all her glory.
“Hello, I am Pepper. Nice to meet you, Michelle, " Pepper greets, sticking out her hand for MJ to take. MJ does happily, making Tony pout as Peter elbows him.
You’re Mrs Potts,MJ writes out messily, clearly nervous about meeting her idol.
Pepper chuckles, flattered. “Oh, please, just call me Pepper.”
MJ blushes and nods.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

“Where are all of the other Avengers?” MJ writes out curiously as they sit at the massive dining room table for dinner.

“On a mission,” Peter replies, diving into his dad's lasagna.

“Peter, no talking with your mouth full,” Pepper scolds lightly.

“Sorry,” Peter mumbles through a bite of food, making Pepper roll her eyes lovingly.

Then why didn't Tincan go with them? MJ jabs.

Tony fake-winces, mock-grabbing his chest, mock-offended, “Ouch.”

MJ rolls her eyes, looking back at Mrs Potts.

“Tony was supposed to be in a meeting, but he “overslept,” apparently,” Pepper says, clearly annoyed with her husband's antics, making Peter and MJ laugh.

“Sorry, dear, I was up half the night fixing up Spider-Man and his suit,” Tony says, exasperated, making Peter blush as MJ raises her brow before looking back at her food and eating it.

That's too bad. I really wanted to meet Natasha Romanoff. She’s just as badass as you, Mrs Potts.

Pepper places a hand over her heart, smiling kindly. “Well, thank you, MJ.”

Peter holds MJ's hand, making her look up at him.

“I’ll bring you back sometime, so you can meet her. I just know Aunt Nat is going to love you.”

“I’d love that,she writes with a smile.

Pepper couldn’t help but smile at the couple, seeing Tony do the same.

Noticing the two empty plates, Pepper smiles. “Would you like some more, MJ? Peter?”

“Yes, please, Mom.”

MJ nods with a polite smile in reply.

Pepper leaves the room to the pan of lasagna.

On her way back, she notices Peter rubbing his left arm, wincing slightly, MJ staring at him worriedly.

“Peter, are you alright?” Pepper asks, setting the pan down as MJ scooped her up lasagna but still watching to make sure that her boyfriend was indeed alright.

“What...oh, I am fine, Mom.”

Pepper raises her brow, not believing him.

“I know for a fact that’s not true, young man,” Pepper berates him, with a very kind, motherly voice.

Tony sighs, watching his son and wife.

Peter sighs, “But…” he starts, but Pepper just stares him down.

“Take off your sweatshirt, Peter; let me look at your arm.”

Both Peter and MJ blush.

“Mom, please,” Peter begs.

“Now, young man.”

“But, Mom–”

“Pete, listen to your mother.”

“Fine,” he grumbles, then he turns to MJ swiftly. “Just promise me you won’t freak out.”

MJ raises her brow curiously but nods.

Peter sighs and takes off his sweatshirt, wincing as he does so.

MJ couldn't help staring at him in shock when she noticed the long, bleeding scar on his arm.

Pepper quickly wraps his arm in a kitchen towel.

“Damn it, Peter, you broke your stitches!” Tony exclaims as she rushes to grab the first aid kit from the kitchen.

“Sorry,” Peter says genuinely.

You’re Spider-Man? she writes out.

“Surprise…”

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Finding out her boyfriend was not only the biological son of Tony Stark and the heir to Stark Industries, but finding out he is Spider-Man was a whole new level of crazy, but nothing really changed other than her getting a job as Pepper's personal intern and her finding out that ned was Bruce Banner's intern and that he knew that Peter was Spider-Man the whole time was a crazy realization.
Flash was still a massive dick, no surprise there, always trying to fight Peter for getting him grounded for that fight a month back, but MJ would stare him down till he ran like a coward, plus she and Betty were becoming great friends. The double dates were fun.
Of course she was pissed at Ned for keeping the secret from her, but he said that it was up to Peter to decide to tell her, and she couldn’t help but agree with that and hug him after writing out an apology to him. As long as she was with her losers, she was fine; things were finally looking up in her life, and then she got that call from Ned.
It was exactly two weeks after she found that Peter was Spider-Man; she was casually drawing in her people-in-crisis sketchbook when her phone rang, startling her. She picked up, seeing a FaceTime call from Ned. She raised her brow, accepting the call immediately.
Ned was in an hysterical state, blabbering about how he and Peter always stay in contact when he’s on his missions, but Peter has not responded in ten minutes and is offline.
MJ’s face falls, her heart dropping, as she quickly scribbles on a piece of paper, Where did you hear from him last?”
“I-I don’t know, some alley. He’s still in New York.”
I’m going to Stark Industries to find him. I’ll call you if I hear from him or see him,” she writes, showing him before ending the call and quickly leaving her apartment to make her way over to Stark Tower.
She bursts into the place, her chest heaving, running around, trying to find someone she knows who can help her, but the place is practically empty; then she sees him.
Peter is limping, looking pretty rough, and his Spider-Man suit is all ripped up; his mask is not even on his face.
She instantly runs for him.
“P…pet… Pete….PETER!!!!!”  she screams, throwing her arms around his neck, hugging him tightly.
Peter is taken aback, wrapping an arm around her. “Did you just talk?”
She quickly pulls away, meeting his eyes, realizing that yeah, she just talked; she just screamed his name.
MJ nods, smiling slightly, then she looks over his battered and beaten body.
“I..d.d..did. I…I…th..thought..you ..we..were... dead,” she stuttered out, her voice hoarse from the lack of use.
“Your voice is beautiful,” he complimented with a smile.
MJ blushed, pulled him for a long, passion-filled kiss, as he wrapped his arms around her waist, smiling as she pulled away, breathless.
“D…do.. don't..do..t..that again,” she tells seriously, with tears in her eyes.
He wipes them away, and she leans into his touch, making him smile sadly
 "I promise I love you.”Peter embraced MJ tightly as they melted into one another before pulling MJ in for a kiss. It was messy and full of love.
They eventually pulled apart, resting their foreheads on each other.
"I...l... lo...love... yo... you... t... too... P...Pet... Peter."
Peter teared up, loving the sound of her voice. " I love you too, Michelle."
 I no longer had to be afraid to speak
Thanks to him, I was finally able to speak
Thanks to Peter, I finally realized that
Hope really did exist after all.
