Chapter Text
John, Paul, George, and Ringo were taking a walk (holy writing skills i know 😂🫱)
Now, it was a little chilly, but not so chilly that George and Ringo had to walk so close they could fuse together. Every once in a while, John and Paul would snicker at them. Until George had had enough.
"Alright, why 're you two laughin' so hard, what is so funny?" George asked.
Paul giggled once more before answering, "It's you an' Ritchie, why do you 'ave to stand so close together? It's like you lot are attached at the hip!"
"Because it's 100 degrees out here. Why do ya think, smartass?" George rolled his eyes when he finished his sentence. "And don't call 'im Ritchie!"
John decided to join in; uninvited, of course, "You call 'im Ritchie all the time, what's the difference?"
George began to blush, desperately trying to make up an excuse. Ringo started laughing. Making George's whole day with that beautiful smile, he knew he could stare at Ringo's charming face all day and he would never have to move.
"Georgie, y'know you don't own the nickname 'Ritchie', right? My mum still calls me Ritchie all the time!" Ringo added.
"Yeah, Georgie!" John said, emphasizing 'Georgie' to see how Ringo would react. And sure enough, John caught Ringo's smile turning into to frown, then back into a forced smile, but you could tell Ringo was annoyed.
"Hypocrite!" Paul muttered to himself in a sing-song tone, but made sure to say it loud enough for the other 3 to hear, which made John chuckle.
"Alright, alright! Can we move on now?" Ringo said, albeit a little annoyed.
"Fine, then we can talk about John and his secret love!" Paul squealed.
"Who? Where? What- What secret love?" John said nervously, blushing way too hard for a person who definitely has absolutely no idea who their 'secret love' is.
Paul laughed, "Don't play dumb Lennon, I heard you on the phone with 'Brian'!"
After Paul had mentioned Brian, John's whole face flushed into a bright red. Paul could tell he was scrambling to find an excuse to say him and Brian were friends, but if Paul heard them on the phone together, there wasn't much to use to say they were 'just friends.'
"Just don't tell Brian that you know; deal?" John sighed, putting a hand over his face.
While Paul and John were talking about, whatever they were talking about, George and Ringo were whispering little jokes to each other and giggling like school-children in love. George rested his head on Ringo's and watched Paul tease John about Brian.
"Hey Georgie, wanna head back to my flat and watch TV?" Ringo whispered to George.
"Of course I do, my legs are gettin' tired anyway."
"Hey Paul!" Ringo yelled, interrupting John and Paul's bickering, "Me an' Georgie are gonna head back to my flat, is that alright?"
"Sure, I'd rather you guys snog there than here. Go ahead."
"We aren't gonna snog, bog off!" George groaned and Ringo laughed. Ringo slipped his hand into George's, which made both of their hearts pound in their chests. That didn't make them let go though, they kept ahold of each other's hands until they reached Ringo's house.
When they got to Ringo's house they both collapsed onto the sofa and turned on a TV show. George wrapped his arms around Ringo and rested his head on top of his chest. Ringo felt his heartbeat grow faster, he hoped George wouldn't notice. What if he got up because it was bothering him? They both relaxed on the couch. Ringo was drifting off to sleep before George started to mumble something, but Ringo couldn't hear him.
"Hm? What was tha'? I didn't hear ya.."
"I love ya, Ritchie..you're comfy." George muttered into Ringo's chest, smiling wider than he ever had.
Ringo chuckled, "I love ya too, and I'm glad you're comfortable Georgie."
Somehow, they both scooted closer together, as if they were trying to fuse into one. George was hugging Ringo so tight you would think he was hurting him, but they were both happy just to be close to each other. They both fell asleep with a smile on their faces, both of them thought this was one of the best moments of their life. Falling asleep while cuddling with someone, they knew it was the most comfortable thing in the world.
When they woke up George and Ringo stayed where they were when they fell asleep, they were both too comfortable and too tired to move a muscle. Then when Ringo was finally, at least halfway, awake, he played George's hair.
"'Ey Georgie, love, how'd you sleep?" Ringo managed to say without his voice cracking.
George yawned, "Mm..Hey Ritchie, I slept well, you?"
"I slept good, I'm glad you did too."
George slowly sat up face-to-face with Ringo, noses almost touching, and grinned.
"You've got the bluest eyes in the world, y'know? They're truly beautiful, maybe the most beautiful thing in the universe."
Ringo blushed and smiled, "Thank you Georgie, but you're much more gorgeous than my regular ol' eyes. There's a million people with eyes like mine, but you're one of a kind Georgie."
George giggled and moved his face closer to Ringo's, foreheads touching. They felt each other's breath on their faces.
"You're flatterin' me," George said, blush creeping on his face, "I'm not that pretty." He playfully pushed Ringo away, which made both of them a little sad. They liked being near each other.
Ringo laughed and cupped George's face into his hands "I'm telling the truth, you really are the.." He was going to finish his sentence, but he got lost in George's eyes. They were a dark brown, almost black, in places with little light, but when there was just enough light; by god, Ringo could stare at his eyes forever.
George tilted his head a little, put on a more serious expression, and moved closer to Ringo's face. Ringo nearly fainted right then and there.
"George.."
Then, the doorbell rang.
