emotions going up and down (how can one keep control)

Summary:

Tim learned to ask for help, and he accepts the help that's being offered to him

If only he could still repress, especially in stressful situations...

Or; Tim gets all of the love that he deserves, even if it ends up going south

Notes:

hi guys this was actually written befofre I even posted the first one I just... kept procrastinating posting it and now, 30 something fics later, I'm finally getting around to posting it.

actually, I may have posted 40 fics since this one... thats weird to think about I dont like that wait--

also this is A. unbetad and B. I wrote this before I reformatted all of my docs to fit 'rich text' instead of 'html' when pasting it into here which means I basically had to mass delete all of the double spaces and when you shift and enter, it doesnt register as a double spaces, so if there's any wonky spacing, thats why

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Work Text:

Kon feels a tug on his jacket. Pausing his fight with the newest villain-of-the-week, he turns to see who is trying to gather his attention, and, lo and behold, Tim, decked out in his Robin gear, stares through Kon’s sunglasses with barely-concealed fear. Kon sucks on a breath, preparing for the worst, when Tim speaks up.

“Superboy-I-I’m sorry,” Tim’s voice breaks, lips trembling with unshed tears.

“Do you need to-” Kon starts.

“Yeah. Yes, please,” Tim’s breath hitches and Kon nods, turning back to the c-list villain in front of him, who has decided that monologing was a good idea, stands.

“Oh no, Superboy,” The guy says in a mocking tone, “Whatcha gonna do now? Gonna let me run free so you can get to your damsel in distress,” the man taunts, obviously about to continue his spiel when Kon rolls his eyes and punches the guy in the face, tying him to the nearest light pole within seconds, before running back to Tim, who was rapidly falling into his headspace, and flying them to Tim’s apartment in Gotham.

“I’m so sorry,” Tim sobs the moment his feet touch the familiar wood of his apartment, gripping onto Kon’s jacket with such strength that rivals a toddler with hair.

“Hey, hey, it’s okay, there’s no reason to apologize, you have nothing to apologize for,” Kon soothes, leading the little to the couch.

“Bu-” Tim hiccups- “but you’re busy, and, an’ you shouldn’t have’ta take care of me just ‘cause I can’t control myself,” Tim’s decline in speech reveals a lot to Kon about Tim’s current headspace, which makes Kon both happy and sad, since they’ve been working towards making sure Tim doesn’t feel that way, but also happy because that means Tim is comfortable enough with Kon to say his thoughts aloud. Kon shakes his head.

“You know, I’m actually glad you came to me, you wanna know why?” It was a rhetorical question, but Tim still asks,

“Why?” Through his sniffles, which Kon finds utterly adorable, but pushes that thought aside because that is decidedly Not Important.

“‘Cause that just gives me an excuse to knock the guy out, since the Big Blue can’t get mad at me if I tell him that there was an emergency.” Kon looks at Tim with a soft smile, holding Tim’s face in his own hands, resting their foreheads against each other.

“Really?” Tim asks with all the wonder in the world. Kon nods.

“Yeah, baby. I could never get mad at you for coming to me, especially for something like this, ‘cause I want you to come to me instead of keeping it all bottled up–” he poked Tim’s chest gently, drawing a giggle out of the boy– “inside here. I love taking care of you, ‘kay?” Kon meets Tim’s eyes, watching as he’s thrown deeper into his headspace, waiting for a response that he knows will come. Timmy nods.

“Okay,” Timmy hesitates, as if he wants to say something more, but he holds himself back. Kon gathers Timmy in his lap, not breaking eye contact.

“I can tell you wanna say something else. You don’t need to hold back, you can say what you want, baby.” Kon promises. Timmy seems to think for a moment before responding with a grin.

“Okay… mama.” Timmy nervously giggles. Kon pretends to think about Timmy’s words before responding with his forefinger tapping his lips.

“But if I’m mama, then what’s Cassie gonna be?” Timmy giggles even more.

“Mama!” He exclaims, with a smile bright enough to light up Gotham.

“And Bart?” Kon raises an eyebrow, already knowing what Timmy’s answer is going to be.

“Mama,” Timmy dissolves into giggles, his feet hitting the side of the couch as he kicks them, his giggles soon turning into full laughs as Kon begins to tickle him, all the lingering doubt he had flying out the window alongside any hint of his unregressed state.

~~~
Cassie carefully unloads the food out of the basket, laying it out on the red-and-white plaid blanket settled below the four, protecting them from the itchy-ness of the grass. Bart is entertaining Timmy as Kon scouts out the area around them, taking on the role of ‘most paronoid’ while Tim is unable to. Just as Cassie finishes setting up the food, Kon returns with a proud smile.
“Nobody’s around for at least a mile; we should be safe.” He informs the four, but really only Cassie hears, as the other two are quite distracted by the thread coming loose on Timmy’s bunny.
“Food!” Timmy exclaims, reaching towards the sandwiches from his place on Bart’s lap. Timmy triumphantly grabs a ham-and-mayo sandwich and munches on it happily while he babbles about anything and everything.
“I told you we were in a secluded enough area,” Cassie turns her attention back to Kon, rolling her eyes. Kon returns the gesture in a mocking manner.
“I told you, I don’t care. I just want to make sure we’re safe when we’re out with Timmy.” Kon replies, his voice growing softer towards the end. Cassie purses her lips and nods, silently unwrapping a sandwich and handing it to Kon.
“I made plenty of extra, so don’t worry about eating too much.” She states, looking away and busying herself with restacking the sandwiches.
“They aren’t poisoned, right?” Kon jokes, smiling when Cassie cracks a smile.
“Of course not,” she rolls her eyes, much more fondly this time. Kon leans over and gives her a small kiss on the cheek.
“Thank you.” He says, sincerity heavily coating his words. Cassie nods briefly, a faint flush on her cheeks.
“Timmy! Sit still!” The two turn their attention back to the others, an amused expression on their faces as they watch Tim try to wriggle out of Bart’s grasp.
“What’cha want, little man?” Kon asks, standing up.
“Wanna see!” Timmy points to his left, at the cliff. Kon reaches down and plucks Timmy out of Bart’s lap and carries him over to where the ground drops off, sitting back down only a little over a foot away from the drop. Kon wraps his arms firmly around Timmy’s torso, keeping him nice and secure as he marvels at the view below them, trees growing in every direction with a little stream breaking up the sea of never-ending green.
Every time he sees another animal drinking the water, or climbing the trees, or hunting for prey, he points excitedly and looks at the others with a big smile, rambling off a bunch of fun facts. The three listen fondly, returning their own fun facts throughout the afternoon. At one point, Timmy starts to get a bit more antsy, wriggling around more than normal, and that’s when the three decide to let him get out a bit of energy.
“How about you and Timmy run around a bit.” Cassie proposes, looking at Kon with a raised eyebrow.
“Yes, yes!” Timmy looks at Kon excitedly, jumping up and down in place. “P’ease, pretty pwease?” He practically begs, effectively breaking down any semblance of resolve that Kon was trying to hold on to. Kon nods, much to Timmy’s delight, and begins to chase Timmy around the little area they’re in as Cassie and Bart watch.
“It’s getting dark, we might want to start packing up soon.” Bart murmurs, leaning his head on Cassie’s shoulder as he shatters the moment. Cassie nods unhappily.
“Yeah, we probably should…” she trails off. Bart nods understandingly.
“I don’t want to, either,” he huffs, looking at Kon chasing Timmy with little roars, Timmy’s shrieks of delight being music to their ears.
“They’re just having so much fun.” Cassie sighs, looking to the side wistfully. Bart is about to respond when they hear the sound of foliage rustle. Cassie stands slowly, taking a fighting stance as Kon and Timmy quiet.
“Wha’s that?” Timmy asks in wonder, pouting when Kon gently shushes him and pulls himself in front of Timmy.
“Who’s there?” Cassie calls out, voice sharp. The sound of someone tripping answers them. Two faces quickly appear in the clearing, the two clearly startled. “Who are you?” Cassie repeats, voice firm.
“Uh, we were just coming from the path, um,” The shorter of the two points at where they came from.
“Yeah, we just heard shrieking and thought someone was hurt…” The taller one trails off. The shorter one nods rapidly.
“Yeah, we aren’t here to cause any harm, trust.” Her eyes widen, a flash of fear in her eyes and body movement.
“Well, we are all fine here, you can leave now.” Kon states, making himself look bigger. The two look at Kon and Timmy, tilting their heads almost in sync.
“You look familiar, do I know you?” One asks, curious.
“No.” Kon clenches his jaw in annoyance.
“Are you sure? Are you like, famous or something? I swear I’ve at least seen the other kid behind you though?” The other one pushes.
“I promise, you do not know me. Please leave.” Kon responds, voice unwavering.
“Okay, but-” Kon cuts her off.
“Leave.” His voice goes deeper. Timmy lets out a small whimper. Bart’s eyes widen as Kon looks at Cassie.
“Take him down to the car, we can handle this and get everything cleaned up.” Cassie orders, glancing warily between the two girls and Timmy. Kon nods, turning back to Timmy and leading him out of view. Cassie and Bart’s attention shoots back to the two girls, who look thoroughly scared, which is what Cassie guesses that Kon was going for.
“We are leaving, just give us a moment before we can leave.” Cassie begins to move towards the now-almost-empty picnic blanket. The girls nod, the shorter one speaking up once more.
“We didn’t mean to cause any trouble, we’re sorry.” Her voice shakes, subconsciously moving closer to the other girl. Cassie sighs.
“It’s okay, we were just leaving anyway.” She grabs the four corners of the blanket, causing all the food to tumble towards the middle, and she shoves the blanket into the basket, putting the lid back on and standing up tall.
“Have a good night.” She states before walking the way that Timmy and Kon had gone, waiting until they are out of sight before her and Bart speed back to where the other two were.
“Are you okay?” Kon asks nervously, scanning the two for injuries.
“We’re fine, Kon. They were harmless.” Cassie sighs once more, rubbing Kon’s cheek in reassurance. Kon looks like he wants to say something more, but decides against it. The two turn to see Timmy slouched in Bart’s arms, fast asleep, and they smile, deciding that it was all worth it in the end.
~~~

Tim is laying on his bed, typing away at his computer when he hears someone knock on his bedroom door.

“Come in,” Tim calls out, looking curiously at Kon when he enters the room. He’s hiding something behind his back, Tim can tell, but he’s doing a good job at not letting Tim see whatever it is that he’s hiding.

“Hey,” Kon greets quietly, smiling when Tim’s eyes shoot from Kon’s hands to his eyes.

“Hey,” Tim greets back, shutting his computer and putting it on his nightstand. “What’s up?” Kon’s gentle smile turns to a nervous one.

“I, uh, got something for you.” Kon admits, bringing out a medium-sized box. Tim brings his legs closer to himself, sitting crisscross-applesauce as Kon comes over to sit on the foot of the bed. He places the box between the two, cocking his head towards it when Tim just stares at Kon awkwardly.

“Why did you get me a present?” Tim asks, eyes narrowing in suspicion. Kon’s eyes dart to the side as his breath stutters.

“Just ‘cause I think you need more gifts!” Kon plasters a guilty smile on his face, letting out a strained laugh. Tim raises an eyebrow, unamused.

“Sure,” Tim responds. Regardless, he reaches towards the box and pulls it closer to him. He opens it hesitantly, as if he’s expecting something to jump out at him, Nothing does jump out at him, in fact, when the lid comes off, all Tim sees is white tissue paper.

“Now, I know you said not to get you anything, but these are inconspicuous and-” Kon cuts himself off when he hears Tim gasp.

“Kon, you didn’t.” Tim says, words short with shock.

“You just look so bored and-” Tim cuts him off.

“Kon.” Tim repeats with all his chest, words shaky. Kon gulps. Tim takes the first item out of the box. It’s a vacuum sealed, hand shaped bag with a bunch of different coloured beads in the palm, each finger corresponding with a different coloured ball. There are three of them, each with a different difficulty, one having only a few pompoms, and another with likely over two dozen small balls, nearly half the size of a full peppercorn.

The next item is a bag of magnetic shapes, magnetiles, but the ones that are just the outline of the shape, as opposed to the ones with full, filled in tiles.

At the very bottom, lays a black cord with a red, rubber dog tag on it. Tim stays silent, taking the item gingerly in his hands, staring at it with conflicting emotions. He doesn’t even notice that he’s crying, confused when one drops on the necklace. Tim can hear Kon’s panicked inhale, but Kon doesn’t make a move, not like he normally would. Tim appreciates that. Without saying another word, Tim pushes the box to the side, ignoring the confused noise that Kon lets out, and climbs over to Kon, wrapping his arms tightly around Kon’s neck. After a moment, he feels Kon’s arms wrap around his waist.

“I told you not to get me anything.” Tim whispers, voice broken.

“I know.” Kon responds, digging his nose in Tim’s neck.

“Thank you,” Tim lets out a near-silent sob.

“You deserve it. You deserve it all, Tim.” Kon says in the soft, gentle voice that always makes Tim feel small. Tim breaks, his sobs going from silent to loud in seconds as he rapidly drops into headspace. Kon doesn’t say a word, tightening his hold on Tim, letting Tim cry as much as he feels need to. After a few moments, Tim’s door creeps open, Cassie’s face peeking into the room. When she spots the toys laid about Tim’s bed, she raises a knowing eyebrow at Kon, but leaves the two be.

~~~
Tim sits at the batcomputer, staring intently at the case he has open on the screen, trying to find something he missed in his investigation, anything that could lead to the missing girl. He has the rubber dog tag in his mouth, chewing on it intently as his fingers fly across the keyboard. He doesn’t notice when Dick walks up behind him, startling so bad he almost falls out of the chair when he finally notices.
“Hey, Tim!” Dick cheerfully greets him. Tim, eyes wide with surprise, collects himself quickly.
“Hey, Dick.” Tim greets back calmly. Dick’s eyes zero on Tim’s chest, which confuses the latter until he remembers what he’s wearing.
“What’s that?” Dick asks, pointing at the necklace.
“It’s, uh, cause I bite my nails,” Tim answers, not entirely lying.
“Aren’t those, like, for kids?” Dick points out. Tim holds his breath for a moment, racking his brain for anything that he can say to throw Dick off the track.
“Um, yeah! But, y’know, prevents me from picking at my fingers.” Tim laughs nervously.
“Didn’t you say you bit your nails?” Dick interrogates. Tim shrinks into the chair.
“I do both?” Tim tries.
“I’ve never seen you do either.” Dick says, tone void of any emotion that Tim can use to figure out what he’s feeling.
“I’ve been getting better.” Tim responds, more confident.
“Why are you lying?” Dick glares at Tim. Tim bites his lip.
“It’s none of your business, honestly.” Tim changes tactics.
“Tim.” Dick clenches his jaw.
“Dick.” Tim rolls his eyes.
“You’ve been acting weird lately. You’ve been off on your own; you have barely been around neither me nor Bruce for months, and you’ve been spending more and more time with your team. What’s going on?” Dick has concern in his voice, but that just makes Tim angrier.
“Well, sorry I’ve actually been sleeping a healthy amount and getting social interaction outside of adults, my bad, I’ll just go back to not sleeping for four days straight and becoming a social recluse.” Tim sarcastically retorts. He isn’t lying, though. Not that he’s actually been regressing on a regular basis and allowing the regression to actually do it’s job, Tim has been eating and sleeping more, plus it means he is spending more time with his friends, which he can never complain about. He feels better than, well, ever. He doesn’t think he’s ever felt so good. He’s getting physical affection on the regular and he’s finally reaching a healthy weight for his age and height. Even Leslie has noticed that Tim’s healthier. He didn’t know how awful he felt on the daily until he finally started feeling good, and he hopes he never has to go back to how he was feeling before (even if he knows that, eventually, his friends will get tired of him and he’ll fall back into his old habits, but he doesn’t want to think about that).
“That isn’t what I mean, you know that.” Dick stresses. Tim sighs.
“Well, it sounds like that is what you mean.” Tim stares at the wall behind Dick in annoyance.
“Tim.” Dick scoffs.
“Dick.” Tim mocks. Dick stares at him for a moment before throwing his arms in the air.
“Fine. Be like that. I’ll find out soon enough.” Dick walks away, irritated. Tim really hopes that Dick doesn’t find out, and that it was just a phrase, but Tim will be more careful for the next little while, regardless.
~~~

Tim stares blankly at the screen in front of him, not paying attention to the plot of whatever show Kon put on before he left to go help Ma Kent or something, Tim wasn’t listening when Kon explained where he had to go. The collage of clashing colours is the only thing keeping him from looking away, even if his mind is elsewhere.

The episode finishes, and the next one starts automatically, and, now that he’s thinking about it, shouldn’t Kon be home by now? It was just them in the media room, Bart and Cassie left earlier,  saying something about paintball, but Tim only caught the latter half of their conversation. Right as he’s about to grab his phone, he hears a loud thud down the hall. Now alert, he grabs his bo staff, eyes shooting from side to side to assess his surroundings. Within moments, the familiar red costume of the Red Hood comes into view.

“Well, well, well, if it isn’t the bat’s precious little birdie.” Red Hood sneers, slowly approaching Tim, who backs away.

“How did you get here?” Tim asks, bracing for a fight.

“I just thought I’d teach the big bat what happens to little Robin’s that fly free. Don’t you want to be a part of that demonstration?” Red Hood opens his shoulders, making himself appear impossibly bigger. Tim tosses his bo staff to the other hand, swinging it in a calculated manner, using it as a distraction to try and incapacitate the Red Hood’s legs, but the man stays stubbornly upright. He laughs (laughs!) when Tim tries to fight him, seemingly unphased by Tim’s attempts to escape.

“What do you want?” Tim asks when Red Hood throws his bo staff to the side, too far away for Tim to even try to get back.

“I want to make an example out of you. You’re just a replacement, a pretender. You don’t deserve to don that suit, the legacy of Robin should have died with the second one. There should have never been a third one.” Red Hood yells, picking Tim up by his shirt when Tim tries to dash to the other side of the room. He throws Tim down to the floor, staring at the crumpled heap that Tim found himself in. He looks over his shoulder, at the stairs that lay behind him, and the wall that stands before him.

“There’s no escape, birdie, it’s just you and me, your little friends aren’t gonna help you this time.” Red Hood taunts, crouching down in front of Tim before pulling off his helmet, revealing a familiar, very familiar face under it.

“Jason?” Tim asks, his voice breaking. Jason’s mouth pulls itself into a creepy smile, his bright green eyes adding to the look.

“That’s right, baby bird, I’m back.” He whispers, words sung in a haunted fashion, before pushing Tim down the stairs, listening to Tim’s screams.

“Why are you doing this?” Tim shouts, tears streaming down his cheeks.

“I already told you, baby birdie, it’s to teach the bat a lesson about little Robin’s” Jason clenches his jaw, landing beside Tim at the bottom of the stairwell. Tim bites his lip, hard enough to draw blood, as the familiar fuzziness creeps through his thoughts.

Not now, not now, not now, Tim desperately screams internally, panic rising in his chest as his breaths come faster.

“Scared, birdie? You should be.” Jason kicks Tim’s side, raising his arm.

“Ma-ama!” Tim screams, grasping at his hair and tugging it as hard as he can, screwing his eyes shut.

“Call for your mom as much as you want, but no one is here to hear the little Robin scream. You’re gonna die alone, yelling for her, just like how I died yelling for a dad that never came.” Jason places his head at the top of Tim’s, grabbing his hair and forcing him to look into Jason’s eyes. “Nobody is coming for you, birdie, nobody wants you.” Jason sneers, words vicious, but his words just serve to make Tim fall headfirst into his headspace, at the worst possible time.

“Dada!” Tim desperately screams at the top of his lungs, dragging to word out as long as his lungs can handle. Jason stumbles backwards, eyes flashing from green to blue and back, a look of deep regret filling his face.

“Shit, no, no no no.” Jason falls to his knees, panic filling his features as blood from Tim’s head wound pools on the floor.

“I didn’t mean it, I’m sorry, what did I do?” Jason whispers to himself, a tear joining the blood on the floor. Jason gently grabs Tim and brings him to his chest, uncaring about the blood that is sure to ruin his clothes, rocking the two back and forth even when Tim kicks and screams louder.

“Tim!” A voice from the top of the stairs shouts, the owner of said voice running down the stairs.

“What did you do?” Dick asks when Tim finally stops screaming, instead just crying and yanking on his hair.

“I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to, I’m so sorry,” Jason’s voice breaks, hugging Tim tighter.

“You hurt him!” Dick yells, not noticing Tim’s flinch.

“I know, I’m sorry, I didn’t want to, I’m sorry.” Jason repeats.

“That isn’t enough! What did you do to him?” Dick loudly asks, his voice far too loud for the space they’re in.

“Stop figh’in.” Tim whispers before Jason can respond with more guilty apologies, leaning his head against Jason’s chest, much to Jason’s surprise.

“Tim, hey, how are you feeling?” Dick asks gently, voice far quieter than before.

“Head hur’s. Wan’ mama.” Tim slurs, vision flicking in and out.

“I… don’t think your mom’s home, Tim.” Dick responds, confused. Tim shakes his head.

“No, no’ mom, mama.” Tim firmly states, not able to stop himself even though he knows that he needs to shut up before Dick and Jason realize what’s going on– if they even know what regression is.

“I don’t understand,” Dick replies, a little lost, looking at Jason for any kind of insight, but Jason just shakes his head.

“Is okay, mama can hear me, mama will come soon, mama pwomised.” Tim resolves, slipping into sleep as soon as the words leave his mouth, relishing in the sweet numbness that accompanies the sleep.

~~~
The next time Tim wakes up, it’s on a much softer surface. He can feel the comfortable tightness of a bandage around his head, likely for the head injury he sustained during the whole scuffle, but he can also feel his normal wrist brace on his left arm, even though he doesn’t remember his arm getting injured, he must not have paid enough attention to notice. As he scans the med-bay room, he spots Kon on the armchair beside the bed, fast asleep.
“M-Kon?” Tim whispers, afraid to speak any louder. Kon shoots up from his spot, fussing with Tim’s bedding. Tim smiles. “Kon.” Kon doesn’t respond, rambling to himself as he continues to fluff Tim’s pillows. Tim pouts. He brings his arm up, laying his hand softly on Kon’s cheek. Kon finally stills, his eyes meeting Tim’s with so much worry filled in them.
“I heard you. I heard you scream for me, and I couldn’t move.” Kon whispers after a moment, his hands wrapping around Tim’s arm like a lifeline, tears flowing freely. Tim understood what happened, what Kon wasn’t saying. I heard you call for mama, I heard you scream for me while little, but he put kryptonite beside me, I couldn’t care for you, I failed you.
“You couldn’t help it, you did what you could, and you’re here now.” Tim comforts.
“But-” Tim shushes Kon.
“You’re here now, Kon, that’s all that matters.” Tim places a light kiss on Kon’s cheek, pressing their foreheads together when Kon begins to sob, gripping Tim’s arm as if he thinks that if he lets go, Tim’ll disappear.
“I’m here.” Kon hiccups.
“You’re here, and so am I, and everyone is going to be okay, I promise.” Tim smiles, rubbing the pad of his thumb along Kon’s cheekbone when Kon nods.
Their moment is shattered by the sound of the door opening and three bodies flooding in the room.
“Oh my gosh, Tim, we heard what happened, are you okay?” Cassie asks as she and Bart rush to Tim’s bedside while Alfred redresses Tim’s head wounds. “Kon, you were there, right? Why didn’t you–” Tim cuts Cassie off.
“Assi, he did what he could.” Cassie’s eyes dart to Tim’s.
“You’re–?” Cassie asks, not finishing her question due to the open door and others in the room. Tim shakes his head.
“He did as he could with the circumstances he was given. He did everything right.” Tim doesn’t let Cassie argue, glaring at her until she relents.
“You’re the best of us.” Bart lightly grins, Tim returning it. “How are you feeling?” He asks on a more serious note, ignoring Jason and Bruce sliding into the room.
“Ah, I’m fine. Nothing I won’t recover from with a few days’ rest.” Tim shrugs. Cassie’s eyes darken.
“Tim, you almost died–” She tries, but Tim shakes his head.
“No, Jason wouldn’t hurt me.” Tim claims firmly. Jason flinches.
“But I did hurt you.” Jason finally speaks up, words strained.
“No, that wasn’t you.”
“Yes it was-”
“No, it wasn’t.” Tim states. “I could see it, that wasn’t you. You wouldn’t hurt me. You’re my Robin, and my Robin doesn’t hurt kids.” His tone leaves no room for argument. Bruce clears his throat.
“I was informed that, while this… incident, say, was happening, you called for your mother. But not your dead mother.” Bruce lightly interrogates.
“Yeah, you specifically said it wasn’t your mom, but your ‘mama’? Do you have a second mother we don’t know about?” Dick asks, semi-jokingly, seemingly appearing out of nowhere. Tim’s eyes flick to Kon’s for a split second. Jason catches it.
“Why did you look at Kon?” Jason asks.
“Guys, he’s still recovering, let’s give him a bit of a break–” Cassie starts.
“No I didn’t.” Tim raises his chin higher.
“Yes you did, I saw it. Are you gaslighting me?” Jason narrows his eyes, somewhat playfully. Tim shakes his head with a sly grin.
“Whatever do you mean? I would never gaslight someone.” Tim sarcastically retorts. Even Cassie rolls her eyes at that, pairing well with Kon’s snort and Bart’s amused huff. Jason raises an eyebrow, but drops the topic.
“Master Timothy, might I ask that you halt your movements while I rewrap your head,” Alfred politely requests. Tim turns his head.
“Yeah, of course. Sorry, Alfred.” Tim apologizes as he stills his head. When Bruce begins to ask more questions, Alfred shoos everyone except Kon, Bart, and Cassie out of the room under the pretense of giving Tim time to rest. After a few more moments of checking the rest of Tim’s wounds and vitals, he excuses himself, as well, leaving the four Young Justice members alone.
Notes:
I wanted to get the next part written and I have So Many Ideas for it but I was like 'yallve been waiting 6 months I'll actually give it to you now' PLEASE ENJOY also if you look at my tumblr theres a post thats like 'when youre writing and theres a plot twist that shocks even you (the writer)' that bc dickie was Not Supposed To Be There but alas I hope you enjoyed ehehehehe !!!!!
I'm in a lovely mood today so I blessed you guys and next part is gonna have lotsa angst methinks.... very excited *taps my fingers against each other mischievously like mr burns*
I will admit that I have no clue what the actual name for ‘crisscross-applesauce’ is so please don’t judge, ok!! my mom said she called it ‘sitting indian style’ when she was a kid in the 80’s but I also have no clue what people in other countries call it…so… it’s basically when you just cross your legs to where your feet are touching the thigh of the opposite leg (which is how I’m sitting right now because it’s my default style I fear) so I hope that makes sense!! if it doesn’t you can leave a comment and I’ll try to explain it further haha
TIM IS NOT ARABIC!!!!!!! HE CALLS BART ‘baba’ BECAUSE ITS HIS WAY OF TRYING TO SAY ‘bart (bart)’!!!!! I DO NOT MEAN TO CAUSE ANY CONFUSION!!! he can’t pronounce his ‘r’s when he’s little btw. definitely not projecting there haha wdym (when I was a kid I used to think my name was pronounced with a ‘w’ even though it was spelled with an ‘r’. and an ‘l’. I introduced myself as ‘weswey’ when I was a kid. I only learned how to pronounce my name properly when I was 5 YEARS OLD (obviously that isn’t my read name, but rather, with a few letters removed for online privacy)) it’s the same way that he calls cassie ‘assi’ (ah-see) when he’s little!!
FULL DISCLAIMER: I HAVE NOT YET READ THE ATTACK ON TITANS TOWER IN THE COMICS, SO ANYTHING YOU READ WILL BE WRONG, I WAS ADAPTING IT FROM FICS THAT I HAVE READ! I do plan on reading the comics, so when I do eventually do that, I will likely come back and edit this, but until then, please ignore any inconsistencies
I would like to (le)clarify that the reason why jason’s attitude swaps so rapidly is because tim calling out for his dad (not jack ofc :p) reminds jason of himself in a way he wasn’t intending, so it breaks the pit’s effect on jason. he is superrrrrr out of character here, they all are, but this is a very ooc fic in general so please forgive me :3
OK GUYS I HOPE YOU ENJOYED N I LOVE ALL YALL N N N N N N N LEAVE COMMENTS BC I LOVE THEM AND ILL BE BACK IN LIKE, FOUR MONTHS MAX HOPEFULLY :DDDD hopefully sooner actually...
