"Hey, darling, can you hand me Nellie's lead?"
Charlie stifled a laugh and collected it from the drawer, feeling Nellie's paws claw on his legs in excitement. Henry, as always, just perked his head up while remaining stationary on the couch. "You did it again."
Nick paused, then smiled. "That wasn't even on purpose."
Charlie laughed, handing him the lead. "I hope you know how I embarrassed I am of you."
"Oh, trust me, I do," Nick grinned, "You love how cringy I am."
"...Be quiet," Charlie retorted, "darling."
"...Cringe."
"Hypocrite."
Nick replied, “Yes.”
“Ha, love you.”
“Love you too.”
