Work Text:

I did not want to go to this hero gathering. I hate these things but between Mirio and Hado I was dragged here against my will.

So currently I’m hiding in the corner attempting to become one with the wall. Hado is jumping group to group while Mirio is currently talking to Midoriya about something.

Good. Maybe no one will approach me. I will stay here and not move.

I am the wall. I only have to survive awhile longer and maybe Mirio will allow me to escape before then.

Probably not because he loves these things.

Definitely not me, but I’ll do anything for him.

Not in a creepy way. I guess I fell for him sometime during first year and that feeling hasn’t gone away yet so now I’m stuck with it.

Then Kirishima approaches me. Ugggggg. Don’t want to talk to anyone. “Hey Tamaki! What’s up man!?” He shouts, bouncing on the balls of his feet.

How does he have so much energy in him? How is that even possible?

I mean Mirio is the sun so that’s how he gets his energy. But what excuse does Kirishima have? “Nothing,”

He pats me on the arm. “Come on! You should be talking to people! This is fun!”

This is hell. But I choose not to respond. Thankfully Shinso, who I’ve never talked to, comes to my rescue. By wrapping a hand around Kirishima’s upper arm and dragging him away.

At least that conversation is over.

Being one with the wall started working again until Mirio came over to me and places a hand on my shoulder. “You know this is slow dance music,”

As if I don’t already know that. I’m anxious not deaf. “I noticed,”

“We should dance!” Wait did he say we? As in me and him.

No no no. I should have stayed home and locked myself in my room so him and Hado couldn’t have gotten to me.

“No,” I protest, but he’s already grabbing my arm.

“Come on! It will be fun!”

No it won’t be.

He drags me onto the dance floor. I could resist but what’s the point in that?

He lets go of me and stands in front he takes the lead naturally. Then positions my hands where he wants them. As soon as I look up all I see is his face. Which means I’m forced to make eye contact.

I hate eye contact. Makes it feel like someone is staring into my soul. I opt for burrying my face into his shoulder. It works well.

I doing so I step closer so my chest is against his. This is surprisingly really nice.

Still wouldn’t call it fun though. I feel him move one hand so it’s on my lower back instead of my hip.

If only he would slip that hand under my shirt. Why did I just think that? Stupid brain.

That’s when I hear a familer voice. One that I know in fact belongs to fat gum. “I see you two finally got together,” he claims. Wait, what?

“Well I haven’t asked him out yet,” Mirio repsonds. Yet? Why would he ever want to be with someone like me? I’m confused.

I look up at him. Forcing eye contact even though it’s uncomfortable as hell. “Yet?”

He takes the hand off my back to rub the back of his neck awkwardly. “Well, yeah. I was hoping that you would like to go out with me. If you want,”

I stare at him. And I also forget to blink. “Um yes,” he immediately lights up.

Then kisses the top of my head causing me to blush. I decided to burrying my face into his shoulder again which causes him once again to laugh.

I live here now.

Notes:

Oddly enough I just wrote a stargate one based off of this song and that work count is 630 while this one is 631. I couldn’t have done that if I tried. Probably won’t happen again.
