Work Text:

The glow of the monitor was the only light left in the room, casting a sharp blue hue over the wall of photographs. George Clarke stared at the center of the display, his fingers gently tracing the edge of a glossy printout. It was a photo Chris had never intended for him to see—at least, not as George.

The backstory of how George had acquired it was a masterpiece of patience. It had started six months ago with a meticulously crafted, entirely fictional dating profile. George knew Chris’s type, his speech patterns, and exactly what kind of validation he looked for when he thought no one from his public life was watching. Under a pseudonym, George had built a digital ghost—someone soft, understanding, and entirely detached from the UK YouTube scene.

It hadn't taken long for Chris to take the bait. What started as casual banter quickly escalated into late-night confessions. Chris talked about the pressure of the videos, the exhaustion of the algorithm, and things he would never dare utter to his actual peers. George had listened, logged every detail, and slowly steered the intimacy further. The nudes had come later, sent in moments of vulnerable, late-night trust. Chris thought he was sending them to a girl who lived three hours away; in reality, George was sitting in his room, saving every single pixel to an encrypted drive.

George leaned back in his chair, reaching beneath his collar to pull out a heavy silver locket. He clicked it open. Inside, pressed flat against the metal, was a small, neatly bound lock of dirty blonde hair. He had taken it from the back of Chris’s studio chair during a casual collab visit weeks ago, snipping it so quickly and cleanly Chris hadn't felt a thing. George pressed his thumb against the strands, his heart thudding a steady, rhythmic beat against his ribs. He wasn't just a fan, and he wasn't just a colleague. He was Chris’s keeper. Chris just didn't know it yet.

His phone buzzed violently on the desk, shattering the quiet. The screen lit up with a group chat notification from Arthur Fredrick.

ArthurTV:George, you coming to the pub or what? Bach and Hill are already here. You’ve ghosted us three times this week mate.’

George looked at the text with mild annoyance. Arthur, ItalianBach, Arthur Hill—they used to be his inner circle. They were his main friends, the people he filmed with, the people he shared his life with. But lately, their voices just sounded like background noise. They were distractions. Every hour spent sitting in a pub listening to Bach rant or Arthur Hill talk about music was an hour stolen from his real purpose. Chris needed him. Chris was the only thing that mattered now.

Without typing a reply, George flipped the phone face down. He had better places to be.

An hour later, George’s car sat idling in the deep shadows of a street lamp, half a block away from Chris’s house. The engine was off, the damp night air quickly cooling the interior. George sat perfectly still, his eyes locked on the warm light pouring from Chris’s first-floor window.

Through the glass, he could see the silhouette of Chris moving around, likely finishing up an edit or packing a bag for a shoot. George watched the way Chris moved, cataloguing the slight slouch in his shoulders, the tired rub of his eyes. A profound, overwhelming wave of affection washed over George. He smiled into the darkness of the car, his fingers tightening around the steering wheel. He would do anything for him. Absolutely anything.

If the world got too heavy for Chris, George would carry it. And if anyone dared to get too close, to threaten this perfect, delicate balance George was building... well, George would sort that out.

He sat in the dark, unblinking, watching over his prize until the lights finally went out.

George unlocked his apartment door. He kicked off his shoes and headed straight for his bedroom, not even bothering to turn on the main lights. The glow from his phone screen was enough as he collapsed onto his bed, pulling up the images Chris sent, earlier that day.

There they were. Chris's nudes filled his screen in vivid detail. George could see every inch of Chris's lean, toned body - the defined abs, the trail of dark hair leading down to his thick cock, the way his balls hung heavy between his spread thighs. Chris had taken several shots from different angles, some showing him gripping his shaft, others with his ass spread wide, revealing his tight hole.

George's own cock was already rock hard in his pants. He quickly unzipped and pulled it out, wrapping his fingers around the throbbing length as he scrolled through the pictures. His breathing grew heavier as he studied each image, imagining what Chris would feel like pressed against him.

"Fuck," George groaned, stroking himself faster. He focused on one particular photo where Chris was on all fours, his ass raised high, his hole clearly visible. George imagined burying his face between those cheeks, licking and sucking at Chris's entrance until he was begging for more.

His hand moved in steady rhythm along his shaft as he pictured Chris riding him, that tight ass bouncing on his cock. George could almost feel the heat of Chris's body, the way his muscles would clench around him. He zoomed in on another image showing Chris's face twisted in pleasure, mouth open as he stroked himself.

George's hips bucked up into his fist as he got closer. He imagined Chris beneath him, legs spread wide, taking every inch of his cock deep inside. The fantasy intensified - Chris moaning his name, begging George to fuck him harder, faster.

"Chris," George gasped, his orgasm hitting him suddenly. Thick ropes of cum shot across his stomach and chest as he continued stroking through his release, his eyes locked on the images of Chris's naked body.

Exhausted and satisfied, George cleaned himself up with tissues from his nightstand before setting his phone aside. He pulled the covers over his body, his mind still filled with thoughts of Chris as sleep quickly claimed him.

In his dreams, Chris was there with him. Thoughts of Chris in suggestive positions fill George’s mind.

The next afternoon, the shrill chime of George’s phone broke the quiet of his kitchen. He picked it up, expecting another nag from Arthur or Bach, but his heart skipped a beat when he saw the name on the screen. Chris.

ChrisMD:Yo George, you free for a coffee this afternoon? Need a break from editing, down to link up?’

George’s fingers flew across the keyboard, typing a swift, casual response that betrayed none of the frantic energy rushing through his veins. Within an hour, he was sitting across from Chris at a small, low-key cafe tucked away from the main high street.

To anyone looking in, it was just two friends and fellow creators grabbing a casual drink. Chris was talking about a video concept, gesturing with his hands, entirely unaware that the man across from him had spent the previous night staring at his most private photos and watching his house from the shadows. George listened intently, nodding at the right times, his eyes tracking every movement of Chris's lips, the way his hair caught the afternoon light. It was perfect. It was just the two of them.

"So yeah, I'm thinking of doing a cross-bar challenge variation, but—" Chris paused mid-sentence, his eyes shifting past George’s shoulder toward the cafe entrance. A wide smile suddenly broke across Chris’s face. "Oh, mate, look who it is. Chippo!"

George’s stomach dropped instantly, turning to ice.

He turned around slowly to see Josh Larkin (TheBurntChip) walking toward their table, a broad grin on his face. "Alright boys? Didn't expect to see you lot down here," Josh said, pulling out a chair from the adjacent table without being asked and sitting right down.

"We were just talking about a new video idea, actually," Chris said, shifting his posture instantly to accommodate Josh, his energy instantly spiking. "You'd actually be perfect for it if you're free next week."

Just like that, the fragile, perfect bubble George had built around them was violently shattered.

As Chris and Josh plunged into rapid-fire banter, George felt himself entirely pushed to the periphery. A burning, suffocating heat flared up in his chest. He sat completely rigid, his hands tightening around his lukewarm coffee mug until his knuckles turned stark white. He watched the way Chris laughed at Josh's jokes—real, loud laughter, not the polite chuckles he had given George earlier. He noticed how close Josh leaned in, how effortlessly he commanded Chris's attention.

He’s ruining it, a dark, vicious voice whispered inside George's head. He doesn't belong here. He’s taking Chris away.

The jealousy was physical, a nauseating wave of pure adrenaline that made George's chest tighten. He stared at the side of Josh's face, his eyes narrowing into a cold, psychotic glare. Josh was an interloper. An obstacle. Chris was supposed to be focusing on him, relying on him, not getting distracted by Chip.

"Earth to George?" Chris's voice suddenly broke through the fog of rage. George blinked, his expression instantly smoothing out into a practiced, easy smile as Chris looked over at him. "You alright, mate? You went a bit quiet there."

"Yeah, completely fine," George said, his voice terrifyingly calm despite the storm raging inside him. "Just thinking about that video idea."

But as he looked back and forth between Chris and Josh, the decision was already made in his mind. Josh was getting too close. He was disrupting the plan. And just like George had promised himself in the dark outside Chris's house, anyone who threatened to get in the way would have to be dealt with.

George would sort this out.

The walk back from the cafe was a blur of cold fury. The image of Chris laughing at Josh’s jokes burned in George’s mind, fueling a dark, calculating adrenaline. By the time George locked himself in his studio, the jealousy had hardened into a precise, clinical plan. Josh had to go. Completely.

George set up his studio lighting and adjusted his main camera. George decided to hide his face and alter his voice slightly, just incase someone found out that he was lying. He wore a dark, muted hoodie, sitting perfectly straight, his expression an absolute masterclass in feigned solemnity and reluctance.

He hit record.

"I didn't want to make this video," George began, his voice dropping into a heavy, quiet cadence. He looked directly into the lens, his eyes holding a perfect imitation of sorrow and betrayal. "But after what I’ve been shown, and the evidence I've had to sit on, I can't stay silent. It involves someone in our community. It involves Josh Larkin—TheBurntChip."

The evidence took George hours to construct, but he was meticulous. Using his advanced digital skills, he fabricated a series of leaked chat logs and direct messages. He matched Josh’s exact typing style, his common slang, and even timestamped the conversations to align perfectly with days Josh had been active online. The fake evidence accused Josh of messaging a minor and committing sexual assault. To anyone viewing the screen, the UI glitches, the profile verifications, and the video scrubbing looked undeniably, terrifyingly real.

George edited the video with clinical precision, ensuring the tone remained entirely objective, like a friend forced to do the right thing. He uploaded it close to midnight.

The internet reaction was instantaneous and cataclysmic.

Within two hours, the video went viral across Twitter, TikTok, and YouTube. The commentary scene picked it up immediately. The evidence was so seemingly airtight that there was no room for debate. The collective wrath of the internet turned on Josh with terrifying speed. Brands dropped him by morning; his subscriber counts plummeted by the hundreds of thousands every hour, and his comment sections were flooded with thousands of messages of pure vitriol.

Josh tried to put out a frantic, panicked statement denying the claims, but the public had already made up its mind. The fake evidence was too damning.

Within forty-eight hours, the pressure became entirely unsustainable. Josh’s accounts went completely dark. His profile pictures were wiped to black, his channels were deactivated, and he completely disappeared off the face of the internet, retreating entirely from public life.

Sitting in his dark room, George refreshed his feed, watching the digital ghost town that used to be TheBurntChip's career. He smiled, the blue light of the monitor reflecting the cold triumph in his eyes. The obstacle was gone. Chris was safe, isolated, and exactly where George wanted him.

The digital execution had gone exactly as George planned. In the days following the video's release, the internet completely dismantled Josh’s life. The fabricated logs and synthetic evidence had done their job with terrifying, clinical efficiency. Seeing the black, deactivated screens where TheBurntChip’s empire used to be filled George with a profound, intoxicating sense of control. He had cleared the board.

Then came Chris’s response.

George was sitting at his desk, his fingers gently turning the silver locket around his neck, when his notification feed lit up. Chris had uploaded a video. George clicked it immediately, his heart hammering against his ribs as he watched Chris sit in front of his own camera.

Chris looked visually shaken, his face pale and eyes tired. He took a deep breath before speaking directly to the camera. "I'm making this brief video because I feel like I have to address what’s come to light over the last few days regarding Josh," Chris said, his voice heavy. "Seeing the evidence that's come out... it’s just horrible. It’s completely indefensible. I want to make it absolutely clear that I don’t support his actions in any way, shape, or form. Moving forward, I don't want to be associated with him. I'm completely distancing myself."

George leaned closer to the monitor, a slow, dark grin spreading across his face. A shudder of pure euphoria ran down his spine.

It was perfect. Chris hadn't doubted the video for a single second. Instead of questioning the source, Chris had cut the tie completely, isolating himself even further just to distance his own brand from the radioactive fallout George had created. The lingering threat of Josh Larkin had been utterly erased, not just from the internet, but from Chris’s life entirely. Chris was horrified, vulnerable, and pushed away from his old circles—leaving a perfectly shaped void that only George was ready to fill.

George picked up his phone, his thumb hovering over Chris’s contact name. It was time to play the supportive friend.

George didn't waste a single second. Watching Chris’s public statement had given him the perfect opening. He opened their private chat, his fingers moving deliberately across the screen as he crafted a message that struck the exact balance of concern and steady reliability.

George:Just saw the video, mate. That must have been incredibly rough to shoot. You holding up alright? Do you want me to come over?’

He waited, tracking the little typing bubbles with bated breath.

Chris:Yeah, I’m pretty rattled to be honest. It’s all a massive mess. If you don't mind coming over, that would actually be massive. Front door is unlocked.’

George was out the door before the final notification sound could even fade. The drive to Chris's house felt entirely different tonight. He wasn't parking in the shadows or watching a silhouette through a window; he was the invited guest, the chosen protector.

When he walked into Chris’s house, the atmosphere was heavy and quiet. Chris was sitting on the sofa in the living room, the space only lit by the dim lamp in the corner. He looked completely drained, his head resting in his hands as he stared blankly at the floor.

"Hey," George said softly, closing the front door behind him with a gentle click.

Chris looked up, exhaling a long, exhausted breath. "Hey, mate. Thanks for coming. It’s just... I can’t believe everything changed so fast. The whole internet is on fire, and thinking about what Josh did... it makes me sick."

George walked over and sat down right next to him on the sofa, deliberately narrowing the distance between them. He could feel the warmth radiating from Chris's body. Beneath his shirt, the heavy silver locket pressed firmly against George's chest, a secret anchor keeping him entirely grounded.

"I know, Chris. It’s horrible," George murmured, his voice rich with a perfectly practiced, soothing empathy. He placed a steady hand on Chris’s shoulder, squeezing it gently. "But you did the right thing by speaking out. You had to protect yourself and distance your brand from that. You can’t control what other people do. You can only control who you keep around you."

Chris leaned into the touch slightly, letting his shoulders drop as if a physical weight were being lifted. "I just feel like I can't trust anyone right now, you know? It feels like the whole scene is toxic."

"You can trust me," George said instantly, his tone quiet but fierce with absolute certainty. He looked directly into Chris’s tired eyes, his thumb smoothing over the fabric of Chris's sleeve. "I’m always going to be here. No matter what happens, I've got your back. You don't have to face any of this alone."

Chris managed a weak, genuinely grateful smile, completely oblivious to the fact that the architect of his misery was sitting right beside him. "Thanks, George. Seriously. I don't know what I'd do without you right now."

George’s heart swelled with an intense, intoxicating rush of triumph. He pulled Chris into a brief, firm hug, breathing in the scent of him, entirely smitten by how perfectly his plan was unfolding. Arthur, Bach, Finchy, and Josh—they were all fading into the background. Slowly but surely, George was becoming Chris's entire world.

George slept on the guest bed—or rather, he lay awake, his mind electrified by the proximity. Knowing Chris was sleeping just down the hall made every nerve in his body tingle. In the quiet hours of the early morning, George slipped his hand beneath his collar, holding the silver locket tight, letting his mind drift back into the consuming obsession that governed his life.

At around 4:00 AM, the sudden, violent vibration of his phone shattered the silence of the room.

George unlocked the screen, squinting against the bright glare. It wasn't a text from Chris. It was a YouTube notification, a high-priority alert from Arthur Fredrick’s channel. The title of the video made the blood completely drain from George’s face:

‘The Flaws Of TheBurntChip’s Allegations ft. TheBurntChip’

A cold, piercing dread stabbed straight through George's chest. He tapped the video immediately, his hands trembling slightly as he plugged in his headphones.

The screen cut to Arthur sitting at his desk, looking sharp, focused, and terrifyingly analytical. Sitting right next to him, looking exhausted but deeply relieved, was Josh.

"Right so," Arthur began, his voice devoid of his usual comedic banter. "The past few days have been a complete nightmare for Josh, and honestly, for the entire community. When the video calling him out dropped, everyone jumped to conclusions. But as a lot of you know, I have a law degree. I’m trained to look at evidence objectively, to spot inconsistencies, and to analyze digital footprints before making a judgment."

George's breath hitched. Arthur's degree. He had completely overlooked how clinical and relentless Arthur could be when applying his legal background to a situation.

"We went to a digital forensics expert," Arthur continued, pulling up high-resolution scans of the chat logs George had spent hours faking. "And under professional scrutiny, the entire case against Josh falls completely apart. These timestamps don't align with the server metadata. The UI elements shown in the video are from an outdated version of the app that wasn't even live when these messages were supposedly sent. This isn't just a mistake. This is a highly sophisticated, targeted frame job. Someone went out of their way to completely destroy Josh's life with fabricated evidence."

Josh leaned forward, his voice cracking slightly. "I just want to clear my name. I've never done any of this. I don't know who made that video or why they hate me this much, but it's completely ruined my life."

"We're handed this over to legal authorities," Arthur concluded firmly. "And we're going to find out exactly who made that video."

George stared at the screen, the blue light reflecting the absolute shock in his eyes. The video already had tens of thousands of views, and the top comments were shifting fast, the internet turning its collective gaze toward the source of the fake evidence—toward George himself.

His phone buzzed again. A direct text from Arthur.

ArthurTV:George. I know you posted that video. I recognize the editing software artifacts. We need to talk. Right now.’

George sat up in the dark guest bed, his heart hammering violently against his ribs. The perfect wall he had built around Chris was suddenly cracking. If Arthur proved George faked the evidence, Chris would hate him forever. He had to stop this. He had to sort this out before Chris woke up and saw the video.

George sat frozen in the dark guest room, the icy dread in his chest suddenly morphing into something sharp, manic, and clear. Panic was a useless emotion. He needed action.

He didn't reply to Arthur’s text. Instead, he pulled up his phone's internal storage and accessed the fake dating profile interface. He had one nuclear option left—a twist that would completely redirect the entire internet's attention, shatter Arthur's legal crusade, and force Chris to rely on him forever.

He spent the next twenty minutes rapidly typing out a series of frantic, emotional messages from the fake girl’s account directly to Chris’s inbox. Then, using an automated script he’d kept on standby, he triggered a timed, public "leak" of the catfish account's entire chat history to Twitter under a throwaway burner account.

Except he didn't leak the nudes. He leaked the confessions.

At 6:30 AM, the bedroom door cracked open. The weak morning light framed Chris, who was holding his phone, his face completely pale and his hands visibly shaking.

"George," Chris whispered, his voice cracking. "George, wake up. Please."

George feigned waking up, rubbing his eyes and sitting up quickly. "Chris? What’s wrong, mate? What happened?"

Chris walked over and practically collapsed onto the edge of the bed, shoving his phone into George’s hands. "It’s out. Everything. The girl I was talking to... the online dating profile. Someone hacked her or leaked the chats. All my private messages about the stress, the channel, the burnout... it’s all over Twitter."

George looked at the screen, pretending to read the logs he had literally written himself. "Oh my god, Chris..."

"But that’s not even the worst part," Chris choked out, buried his face in his hands. "Arthur just posted a video proving Josh is innocent. He says the allegations are fake. The internet is losing its mind, George. Half the people are calling me a horrible friend for abandoning Josh, and the other half are mocking me for the leaked chats. I'm getting completely destroyed from both sides. I... I have nothing left."

George reached out, placing his hands firmly on Chris’s shoulders, pulling him close. The locket beneath George's shirt pressed right against Chris's chest. It was a beautiful, chaotic masterpiece. By leaking Chris’s private vulnerabilities, George had created a crisis so massive that Chris didn't even have the mental capacity to care about Arthur's video or who faked the Josh evidence. Chris was entirely broken, completely humiliated, and isolated from the entire community.

"Listen to me," George whispered into Chris’s hair, a dark, euphoric smile spreading across his face where Chris couldn't see it. "Arthur doesn't care about you. He cares about his law degree and being right. Look how he publicised this instead of coming to you privately. Everyone has turned on you, Chris. Except me."

Chris gripped the back of George’s hoodie, clinging to him like a lifeline. "I know. I'm sorry. I should have listened to you."

"Shh. It’s okay," George murmured, gently stroking the back of Chris's head. "We're going to get through this. You and me. I'm going to take care of you now. We'll leave the internet behind."

The trap had snapped shut. Arthur thought he was playing chess with a legal victory, but George had just flipped the entire board. Chris was entirely his now.

Arthur Fredrick wasn’t a man to leave a case half-finished, especially when his legal training told him he was holding all the winning cards.

By noon the next day, while George was busy making a show of filtering Chris’s toxic social media notifications, another notification pinged on George’s locked screen. He swiped it open instantly, his jaw tightening as he read the title of Arthur’s latest upload:

‘The Truth Behind the Leaks: Why They’re Trying to Stop Chip’s Return (ft. TheBurntChip & ItalianBach)’

George felt a cold spike of adrenaline. He stepped out of the living room, leaving Chris huddled under a blanket on the sofa, and retreated to the hallway to watch the video on his phone.

The video didn't open with Arthur's usual sharp, desk-bound analysis. Instead, the camera was set up in a brightly lit studio space. Arthur was sitting in the middle, flanked on one side by a visibly exhausted but defiant Josh, and on the other by a stone-faced ItalianBach.

"Right so, welcome back," Arthur began, his tone carrying an unsettling, courtroom-level authority. "Over the last twenty-four hours, the narrative shifted from Josh’s innocence to an absolute smear campaign targeting Chris’s private life. A lot of you are asking: Why now? Why did these highly personal chats leak the exact same night Josh was proven innocent?"

Arthur leaned forward, gesturing to the men beside him. "The answer is simple. It's a distraction. Someone panicking behind the scenes wanted to bury the forensic evidence we brought forward. They wanted to make the story so chaotic that no one would look at who actually generated those fake documents in the first place."

Bach cleared his throat, leaning toward the microphone with his signature bluntness. "Look, we all know Chris. He’s a mate. But whoever leaked those chats isn’t trying to help him. They’re isolating him. They’re making him radioactive so he cuts off the people who actually have his back. Josh was on his way back—everyone was ready to welcome him back after the truth came out—and suddenly this bomb drops? It’s completely calculated."

"Exactly," Arthur picked back up, pulling up a new graphic on screen. "We’ve done more digging into the server routing of the original call-out video and the burner account that leaked Chris's chats. They originate from the exact same IP cluster. We aren't just dealing with a random hacker. We are dealing with an individual who has direct, close access to Chris. Someone who wants Josh completely out of the picture, and wants Chris completely dependent on them."

Arthur looked directly into the camera lens, his eyes narrowing. "We know exactly who you are. The legal paperwork has been filed, the digital footprint is locked in, and the police have been notified about the targeted cyber-harassment and defamation. If you think you've won by hiding behind Chris’s trauma, you’re dead wrong. We’re coming for the person who did this."

The video cut to black.

George stared at the screen, his breath hitching as a manic, desperate energy surged through him. The net was closing in faster than he had anticipated. Arthur, Josh, and Bach were uniting, building a fortress of legal and public backing that his fake profiles couldn't tear down. Worse, if Chris saw this video, the illusion would shatter completely. George slipped his hand beneath his shirt, gripping the silver locket until the metal bit painfully into his palm. He had to act. He had to keep Chris from looking at his phone, and he had to eliminate the threat of Arthur and Bach permanently before they walked up to Chris’s front door.

George scrolled through his Twitter feed with a mounting sense of hysteria. The internet was moving far too fast. Arthur’s video had completely turned the tide, and the public was already connecting the dots.

Worse, the heavyweights of the commentary scene were chiming in. WillNE had tweeted a screenshot of Arthur’s video with the caption: “If this is who I think it is, this is actually sick. Peak psycho behavior.” Memeulous had posted a characteristically blunt thread questioning the timeline of George's video, and James Marriott had openly quote-retweeted the forensic evidence, expressing absolute disgust. The circle was tightening. George’s own name was starting to trend in the replies, his public reputation crumbling into dust in real time.

He swallowed hard, forcing his breathing to slow down. The public didn't matter. The commentary scene didn't matter. Only Chris mattered.

George slipped his phone into his pocket, his expression hardening into cold resolve. He walked back into the living room, where Chris was still staring blankly at the wall, completely overwhelmed by the public exposure of his leaked messages.

"Chris," George said, his voice dropping into a sharp, urgent tone. "Give me your phone."

Chris blinked up at him, confused. "What? Why? Has something else happened?" He reached for his phone on the coffee table, but George was faster. George snatched the device, quickly powering it down and sliding it into his own pocket alongside his.

"George, what the hell are you doing?" Chris asked, sitting up, a flicker of genuine alarm finally crossing his face. "Give it back."

"I'm protecting you," George said, step-locking his posture so he stood directly over Chris, blockading his path. "Arthur and Bach are using you. They just posted another video, Chris. They're making your trauma all about Josh, twisting your leaked messages into some insane conspiracy theory just to bring Chip back into the community. They don't care about how destroyed you are. They're trying to ambush you."

Chris looked bewildered, his eyes wide. "Arthur would never—"

"He already did!" George yelled, the intensity of his voice making Chris flinch. George instantly softened his tone, dropping to his knees in front of the sofa and grabbing Chris’s hands. His silver locket swung forward, resting heavily against Chris's knee. "They're coming here, Chris. They want to force you into a camera frame to clean up their own mess. The internet is a mob right now. If we stay here, you’re going to get torn apart."

"Where... where would we even go?" Chris asked, completely overwhelmed, his defenses entirely shattered by George's frantic, controlling energy.

"My family has a cottage," George lied effortlessly, his grip tightening on Chris's hands. "Out in the middle of nowhere. No signal, no internet, no Arthur, no paparazzi. Just quiet. You need to disappear for a bit, Chris. Let me take care of you. Let me get you away from all of this."

Chris looked down at George’s hands holding his, completely exhausted, his mind too drained from the relentless cyber-harassment to fight back. "Okay," Chris whispered, his voice small and defeated. "Okay. Let's go."

A dark, euphoric rush of triumph shot through George’s veins. Within ten minutes, he had Chris packed into the passenger seat of his car. As they drove away from London, heading deep into the isolated, winding roads of the countryside, George looked over at Chris, who was staring numbly out the window.

The phones were off. The tracking was gone. George smiled into the dark steering wheel. He had finally gotten Chris all to himself, far away from anyone who could ever try to take him back.

The drive into the deep, twisting backroads of the countryside felt like a victory lap to George. The world was burning behind them, but inside the quiet cabin of his car, he finally had exactly what he wanted.

By the time the tires crunched over the gravel driveway of the isolated cottage, the sky had turned a heavy, bruised purple. George parked beside the overgrown hedges, shutting off the engine. Chris sat in the passenger seat, completely hollowed out, staring blankly at the dark dashboard.

"We're safe here," George whispered, his voice dripping with a soft, possessive warmth. He stepped out, grabbed their bags, and ushered Chris inside the cold, dusty house.

But George had underestimated Arthur’s legal and analytical precision. Arthur hadn't just looked at IP addresses; he had pulled the toll-road data and highway camera logs linked to George’s vehicle registration from the moment George’s video had gone live. Armed with a stack of forensic digital evidence, a cyber-harassment report, and a clear timeline of Chris's sudden disappearance, Arthur hadn't just called the police—he had guided them straight to the coordinates.

Barely twenty minutes after they arrived, the quiet countryside silence was shattered. Blue and red lights violently cut through the grimy windows of the cottage, painting the peeling wallpaper in flashing hues of emergency. The heavy crunch of multiple boots on gravel echoed from the driveway, followed by a loud, authoritative knock on the front door.

"Police! Open the door!"

Chris bolted upright from the dusty sofa, his eyes widening in pure confusion and sudden panic. "What? George, why are the police here? What’s going on?"

George froze, his heart dropping into a dark, bottomless void. He looked out the window. Through the flashing lights, he could see Arthur standing just behind two uniformed officers, his face grim and resolute. It was over. The net had closed.

A manic, desperate adrenaline surged through George’s veins. He didn't look at the door. He turned entirely to Chris. If they were going to take Chris away from him, if his perfect world was going to crumble right here, he was going to take what belonged to him first.

"George, what—"

Before Chris could finish his sentence, George stepped forward, his hands slamming onto Chris’s shoulders to pin him in place. With an intense, psychotic desperation, George pulled Chris forcefully into a hard, breathless kiss, his lips pressing down with all the suffocating obsession he had harbored for months.

Chris gasped against his mouth, his hands instantly flying up to George’s chest to push him away in utter shock and betrayal—
