   Summary

AU Sydney's kitchen holds ancestral spellwork and magic; Carmen's trauma is an unquenchable fire. Swearing off love after her mother’s death and her father’s grief, Sydney built her life behind impenetrable ancestral wards and absolute control to keep her world small. But when a ruined Carmen stumbles across her door, running from his past, the roaring noise in his head cuts out for the first time in his life, and Sydney is struck by an immediate, terrifying pull that threatens every wall she ever built to protect her heart.

AU inspired by parts of Practical Magic, but no one is coming back from the dead.
