Summary
The summer of 1999 feels almost immortal. Like standing on the edge of the unknown; almost an intangible, mythical moment suspended in time. It's in this setup that Jensen, the heir of an influential Dallas family, who has never set foot outside of his comfort zone and is permanently tucked in polo shirts, khakis, loafers, and not a hair out of place, finds himself camping at a summer festival for a weekend.
There, he meets someone who feels as mythical as that summer: Jared, a free-spirited guitarist who wears rock band tees that are so old they're more grey than black, who lives in a trailer and smokes pot, and couldn't be more different than Jensen himself. And spending one magical night with Jared, sharing a smoke and the earbuds of Jared's old, taped-together walkman, hearing him play his guitar and write a new song, is just enough to change Jensen's life forever. And in ways he could only imagine.
