Summary
After losing almost everything in a fire that destroyed the 126 as he knew it, Eddie Diaz is left carrying a grief he doesn't know how to survive—a grief that is only made worse when he comes face to face with Judd Ryder again.
When a new 126 team arrives in Austin, Eddie wants nothing to do with them. He doesn't want new teammates, new friendships, or anyone trying to fill the spaces left behind. He certainly doesn't expect anyone to look at him like he's worth knowing, especially after leaving his whole team to burn to death.
Or—
After the worst relapse of their lives—both their hearts stopping—Owen Strand forces his son, TK Strand, and the tag-along, Evan “Buck” Buckley, to move to Austin for a job opportunity.
Or—
After Olivia Ortiz's plan succeeds and she finally gets the LAFD 118 firehouse shut down, Bobby Nash takes a job opportunity in Austin, Texas.
But he doesn't come alone.
Three different stories.
Three reasons to start over.
And a whole lot of history arriving in Austin with them.
Because sometimes, the people you meet when you're starting over have no idea just how much you needed them.
