Chapter Text
The stars shone with a glow that warmly embraced the waves that lapped against the hull of a rickety old ship, enveloping the air in a comfortable atmosphere.
Hummer’s pen scratched against the paper as he wrote in his journal. Although, if he was being honest, this one was more akin to a diary. His eyes scanned the page as he marked down the day’s events, the dives he and Wifies had taken in search of Levi, the meals they had shared from Hummer’s attempts at cooking, the way Wifies had helped him clean the dishes, the stupid jokes and stories they traded in the afternoon.
A warm feeling bloomed in Hummer’s chest and he paused, enjoying the sensation as his heart beat a little stronger. He could imagine a lazy grin spreading on his face, if only he had a mouth.
…Levi, was he always this tired? He supposed it was getting late. He could hear Wifies snoring gently from their shared quarters, and Hummer supposed he should probably turn into his own bed for the night. Tomorrow Wifies would wake him as usual, and they’d chat over his breakfast before heading to the library to pour over their research, and Hummer would listen to his comforting voice and see his smile and watch his calloused hands turn each page with a surprising gentleness.
The warm feeling returned, and with a distant recognition of the feeling, Hummer’s pen moved on its own as sleepiness began to fog his mind.
I think I might have a tiny crush on Wifies but I don’t really have time to process all that right now.
