“Hey Dad!”
He could still hear his voice.
“Hurry up!” The son pouted as he walked through the forest further. “We don’t have all day.”
The soft, autumn breeze flew past his feathers, brushing it with the occasional leaves that followed. He adjusted his scarf, breathed out a tired sigh as he pressed onwards. The forest surrounding them is starting to wither, reminding them all that winter is approaching.
Honestly, if he takes his eyes away from his son, he might disappear among the leaves. Luckily, his own wings make it difficult to lose him.
“Daddd…” The son stood there in the middle of the path, displaying the biggest frown he had ever seen. “Fasterrr!”
“I’m not in my prime anymore kiddo.” Once the father caught up to him, he gave the son a head pat. A classic. The son responded by flapping his own wings repeatedly before they walked onwards. “Come on, don’t want to be late to that picnic, do you?”
Not long after, they arrived at their destination. A beautiful plain, accompanied with a few people having picnics, camping and whatnot. The father rolled out a picnic blanket on an empty spot, while his son went ahead and collected rocks and such. He laid down flat, arms behind his head and his wings spread across.
Peace and quiet. That is something he had longed for.
“Dad?”
Suddenly, his son overshadowed him, bowing down looking confused. Once the father had gotten up and folded his wings in, the son slowly pointed towards the sky. “What is that?”
For a brief moment, a flock of birds flew past. It must’ve been confusing, seeing how such creatures were able to soar high up in the sky. After all, for stick Avians, flying is something that requires constant practice and high skill. In fact, he couldn’t even remember when he last flew properly.
“Those are migration birds.” He explained, pulling his son down for a seat. “They’re flying somewhere, somewhere warm for them to live.”
“Why is that dad?”
“Because not long after, winter hits town. This place will be cold, and birds don’t like cold.”
“Cold?” Suddenly, the breeze flew past them, causing the son’s body to shudder. “Brrr… Cold, cold.”
The father laughed for a bit, before reaching out to his son and giving him another head pat. Then, things were silent for a bit, with his son leaning in closer to him. The sun slowly sinks to the ground, decorating the sky with an orange hue. The father hums, with the son listening closely to him.
“Daddy,” Once he’s finished, his son softly spoke. “Do you think I can fly?”
“If your wings are strong enough, then maybe.”
“Really?”
“Mhm, yeah.”
“Then can we fly around together one day?”
“I don’t know son, ya old man’s way past his prime.”
“Pleaseee?”
He couldn’t say no to those shimmering eyes. With a sigh, he spoke up. “Alright, alright. Someday, okay?”
The son pouted at first, but then he slowly smiled. “Someday.”
…
…
He could still hear his voice.
Screeching, shouting, loud and clear.
He’s… gone. It can’t be.
It can’t be….
He leaned forward at the glass pane, staring to where his son is supposed to be. All that was left was a couple of feathers that were torn away from his son when he got sucked into the machine.
All messed up and glitched.
“…” Three people walked up to him, and he could hear their hesitance. “S-sir…” The closest to him reached out to his shoulder. “We’re sorr-”
Out of instinct, he spread out his wings, causing them to stumble over. In a daze, the father turned towards them and reached out for his neck, choking him with the claws he had. The poor guy tried to move around and free himself, but his grip was too strong. Another person tried to calm him down, only for the father to get up, toss the first guy and choke him instead. The father shakes him, thrice, before knocking him aside, seeing another person waving his arms. However, his own arms flew right into the third guy's face, knocking him out. The first guy tried to get up, only for the father to choke him again.
Father, huh?
He finally lets him go, taking in a breather. Useless, he thought. All the smart people he had made quick work of, they couldn’t bring his son back. He slowly folds in his wings, staring at the advertisement that is now accompanied with a hint of red.
What is he even now…?
<->
Peace and quiet. That is something he hate. Sometimes the silence can get too loud, consuming his hopes and dreams.
Hope and dreams, huh? What a childish wish.

He spends most of his time underground. It can’t be helped- the government has issued a widespread ban for all the illegal game items he’s smuggling. But it doesn’t matter.
Because if his plan works, then that rule will exist no more.
Staff after staff, command block after command block, heck, he’s prepared if he ever needs to collect multiple Minecraft game icons. He has locked in their first target, a group of friends he’d stumbled across online, who has utmost control over their Minecraft game icon,
And he needs it more than ever.
“Lad, can I ask you a question?”
He quickly turned towards the voice, staring down at him. Encapsulated by rage, he pinches the bridge on his nose to calm himself down.
The purple figure looked at him, full of worry. Seems that he has returned from the nether for their plan. “You okay lad?”
He closes off the prompt he was working on with the command block, relaxing the muscles on his back. “What is it?
“The wings on your back.” He innocently asked. “You’re an Avian, right?”
He stared at the purple figure. Useless, flightless, at best. Just because he can simulate flight with those ‘bug gliders’ on his back, they aren’t that much of a difference. “And so what if I’m one? Doesn’t change anything, right?”
“But I heard stories about them and met a few. They say that they have inner instincts that can drive you crazy if you ignore it long enough.”
Oh, so now he’s trying to pretend that he knows better than anyone else. “Listen kid, all of that is just a hoax. Once you’re old like me, the thing naturally whither away on its own. Been one for years already, they’re just exaggerating much.”
After all, all he cares about is to destroy Minecraft.
Destroy Minecraft.
Destroy Minecraft.
Destroy Minecraft. Destroy Minecraft. Destroy Minecraft. Destroy Minecraft. Destroy Minecraft. Destroy Minecraft. Destroy Minecraft. Destroy Minecraft. Destroy Minecraft. Destroy Minecraft. Destroy Minecraft. Destroy Minecraft. Destory-
“Right lad,” he looked aside for a bit. “I think I’ve finished with the parkour courses. Think we can proceed with the plan?”
“Yes.” He wore the elongated robe that concealed his wings. A gift of ‘partnership’, the purple one said. “The sooner, the better.”
He can't wait to meet him again.
