Chapter Text

It was exactly a week since Oscar had gone home after that simply incredible week with his dearest friend - dearest boyfriend now, he didn't think he’d ever get used to thinking of Jack as that. He still couldn’t believe Jack loved him back. Oscar had spent so long trying to rationalise those moments between them as something else, trying to convince himself that Jack liked him as a friend and nothing more, but then, they’d gone to that concert, and everything had changed.

The past week had gone by in a blur of talking to Jack over Discord, which he did basically every minute of every day. They simply couldn’t get enough of each other, the pull they’d felt towards each other at the tail end of that week not lessening at all with the long distance apart. In fact, Oscar found himself yearning for Jack even more than he had before he knew Jack liked him back.

When he wasn’t talking to Jack, he was planning out the next seven days for when Jack came down here to spend the week with him. It had taken a while, but Oscar had finally finalised the details for the seven dates he would be taking Jack on. It had actually been quite hard, coming up with everything, trying not to have any overlap with the things he’d already done with Jack in England, and he had to consider the fact it was almost winter here, he didn’t have the luxury of warmth that Jack had. Plus there was the matter of it being Oscar’s birthday at the end of the week, which, of course, he wanted to do something extra special for now that he’d have Jack with him. But he was pretty sure he had everything that he needed, apart from Jack himself, and he should be arriving any minute now.

As if on cue, Oscar heard his doorbell ring, and he leapt up from his desk chair and sprinted downstairs, almost falling halfway down but managing to catch himself on the banister. Running to the front door, he yanked it open to find Jack gazing at him from the doorstep, his blue eyes sparkling in the low sun, his wet hair tangled and messy yet also somehow looking completely perfect, raindrops shining on his cheeks. He smiled widely when he saw Oscar, and before Oscar could react, Jack flung his arms around him, hugging him tightly. “I missed youuu!”

“It’s been a week, Jacky.” Oscar laughed as he hugged him back. “But I missed you too, so damn much. It just isn’t the same over Discord!”

“Right!” Jack pulled him into a passionate kiss, slow and enticing, lighting up every inch of Oscar’s body and making it extremely hard to pull away once the kiss was over. His gaze swept across Jack as he felt his heart begin to thump against his ribs rapidly, and he had a strong urge to pin his boyfriend against the nearest wall and make out with him until neither of them had any self control left. But he managed to restrain himself - for now.

“Anyway… come in!” Oscar gestured to the open door of the living room. “How was the flight here? Did you manage to sleep much?”

Jack followed him into the living room, and they both flopped down onto the sofa, wasting no time with wrapping their arms around each other and sharing another quick kiss. Just having Jack here with him again, kissing him again, made Oscar feel as if everything that was wrong in the world had disappeared, leaving only the good things. Jack looked simply beautiful, and the prospect of having an entire week to spend with him filled Oscar with such an overwhelming sense of joy that his cheeks began to hurt from smiling.

“The flight was good,” Jack said when they’d eventually stopped kissing. “I slept for most of it , but I’m still pretty jet lagged. I’m hoping our first date won’t be too tiring.”

“Nah, it won’t be.” Oscar grinned reassuringly, glancing out the window at the rain-soaked world beyond. “We’re starting small.”

Jack nodded slowly, a teasing spark in his eyes. “Are you gonna try to keep what we’re doing as a surprise?”

“Yes, and you’d better not pester me about it because I will end up spoiling it if you do.” Oscar smirked. “I’m not as good at keeping secrets as you are, Jacky boy. I almost ended up telling you everything the other day when we were in that call, remember?”

Jack laughed at the memory. “Oh, yeah! You stopped yourself just in time, though, I’ll give you that.”

“Yeah, I got lucky. But I might not on the second time round!”

“Hey, I believe in you, Oscar! At least, I’m gonna try to.” Jack giggled as Oscar poked him playfully.

“You’re not making it any easier!” He retorted, unable to keep himself from giggling too. “Am I gonna have to kiss you to make you shut up?”

“Hmm, maybeee.” Jack looked up at him adorably, a faint blush spreading across his face. “It might help you with not spoiling your surprises too.”

“We’ll see about that,” Oscar said, and leaned in, kissing Jack deeply, his mouth parting slightly. Jack gasped and kissed him back, sliding his arms around his neck, and they were soon pressed together as they made out, both of them losing himself in the taste and the touch of the other. It was magical, electrifying, and when Oscar eventually pulled away, breathing heavily and blushing deeply, he felt as if he’d just been to another world and had come back from it.

“Fuck,” he whispered, and Jack laughed.

“I know you missed me but I didn’t think you missed me that much!” He teased, and Oscar blushed even more, hiding his face in his hands.

“I told you last week, Jack, you existing around me makes it hard for me to do anything other than make out with you all the time!”

“It’s hard for me too,” Jack replied, still laughing as he wrapped one arm around Oscar’s waist. Oscar reluctantly lowered his hands to gaze at him, biting his lip as Jack gave him a playful smile.

“Just how tired are you?” Oscar asked before he could stop himself. “Because we have all day to go on the date…”

“Wow, you really did miss me!”

“Jackyyyy..!”

Jack smirked and kissed his cheek, sliding his hand along Oscar’s arm, who shivered at his touch, swallowing. “I missed you too,” Jack murmured in his ear. “Now, you gonna tell me what the first date is?”

“Damnit, Jack… alright, we’ll just be going for a walk in the rain–”

“That didn’t take very long!” Jack laughed hard, and Oscar looked away in embarrassment, his cheeks flaming.

“Well, you were distracting me!” He muttered.

“Distracting you by existing?”

“Yes!”

Jack laughed even more, burying his face into Oscar’s neck, his shoulders shaking. “Oh wow..! Ok, show me to your room and we can hang out there for a few minutes before we go out.”

Oscar grinned, cupping Jack’s face in his hands and kissing him gently. “Certainly, Jacky. Follow me…”
