Summary
After they parted on tragic terms, Rui had to struggle to figure out her new life as a vampire, she wanted nothing to do with Wumuti, she was still mad at her, she hated her, but the latter wouldn't leave her alone, she followed her around to the end of the world for centuries. She always showed up to save Rui when things got too hard for her but she also showed up when they got too good to ruin them, and it never ended well between them.
Like when Rui had finally moved on and tried to start a new life, she stood at the altar dressed in white, devastatingly beautiful as she looked at her soon to be spouse.
“If any person here present knows of any lawful impediment to the joining of these two in holy matrimony, let them speak now, or forever hold their peace" said the priest in time for the church doors to bust open, revealing Wumuti in a slutty little black dress and a too satisfied smile.
"I do" she said and Rui slapped her forehead exasperated.Or:
“You came” Rui spoke without turning around when she felt her presence behind her.
