Suguru’s head turns.
Toward Satoru.
It’s like a compass needle finding north. His eyes—those beautiful, liquid puddles of warm, golden honey, just like the rest of his foster family—find his and hold him in place. A jolt of something that Satoru has never felt before in his life zips from his spine to the base of his skull, a feeling so incredibly overwhelming and overstimulating it borders on unbearable. Suguru’s expression doesn’t change. There’s no curiosity in it, no cordiality, no hostility. It’s empty, and Satoru isn’t sure if that’s better or worse than the disgust he was expecting.
