Charles Leclerc wakes up in Max Verstappen's room, in Max Verstappen's body, with a championship that doesn't belong to him suddenly within reach.
Neither of them has any idea how this happened, nor do they know how to fix it. What they do have is each other, and approximately fourteen years of unresolved feelings to work through before Abu Dhabi.

He comes through the final sector, recovering from another near-miss at turn sixteen, and crosses the line. “It’s like it wants to argue with me. It reminds me of you.” Charles drains the rest of his glass, and Max refills it without a word.

Charles misses Max’s qualifying lap from last year by 0.016 seconds. Still, committed, clean, and a time that Max’s team would be pleased with.
Max looks at the screen for a moment, and squeezes Charles’s hands. “I knew I could trust you.”*
The way Charles looked standing in the bedroom with Max’s shirt in his hand, the weight of his head on Max’s lap on the couch, the sound of Charles laughing with Max’s voice but none of Max’s restraint, and especially the fact that Charles is gay and has been his entire life and is single and currently asleep twelve meters away in Max’s bed wearing Max’s clothes in Max’s body.
