April 9th 2016
We lost…. I lost.
Ren couldn't help but think as he found himself in the attic of Leblanc. They were so close but Yaldaboath was too powerful.
Everyone was dead. Ann, Ryuji, ….Makoto.
I failed them. But…. I have a chance to begin again. At what cost though? Sojiro is back to looking at me with distrust. I can barely handle that. How will the others look at me? How will Makoto look at me?
Ren shakes himself off those thoughts. He needs to focus on what he can do now. First things first is saving Shiho. He wont let Kamoshida hurt her again.
April 11th
It's the first day of school. Ren made sure to bring an umbrella not wanting to get sucked into Kamoshida’s palace again. I need a quiet place to think about how to save Shiho. The library maybe? But then Makoto might be there….no i’ll need to face her sooner or later.
He walks to the library and bumps into someone.
“Shit i’m sorry, are you alright?”
“Yes i’m fine, Apologies i should have paid more attention”
Ren goes stiff for a second. Makoto…
“No it’s fine, I'm sorry I should apologize.” He raises his hand to her “Ren Amamiya” He introduces himself
“Oh you’re that transfer student aren’t you?” The moment he hears that quiet little distrust in her tone and the forced tense smile in her eyes, Ren almost breaks.
“Yeah… that’s me… i'll ... .be going now” He runs out of the school ignoring anything else Makoto tries to say, as he doesn’t want anyone to see the tears threatening to fall.
April 14th
He hadn’t meant to bring Shiho to the metaverse, but she was on her way to Kamoshida's office and Ren just.. Panicked. Luckily she gained a Persona extremely quickly. An Ice one interestingly. Polar opposite to Ann’s.
Anyway he knows how to get out but first he has to find Mona-Morgana he mentally corrects himself. Other than that things progress like last time. Then Morgana exits the metaverse with them and after Shiho leaves he speaks.
“You know I gotta say she’s a much faster learner than Skull was.”
Ren looks at Morgana with shock and hope
“You…you remember?”
Ren crouches down and hugs Morgana.
I’m not alone anymore
April 22nd
Shiho is confused. Despite the 23rd being a free day for her and Ren (Barring school anyway) he insisted today to fight Kamoshida’s shadow despite her already being exhausted.
Whatever it’s fine I owe him so much anyway. The least I can do is follow his lead once more.
In a rush to enter the Metaverse however neither of them noticed a red eyed council president walking nearby.
The world distorts, Then Ren Joker, she keeps reminding herself of their code names, and Shiho Angel, hears a voice.
“What….what is this place? Who are you?”
Goddamnit. Out of everyone who could’ve followed us…. While Angel is annoyed she notices Joker and Mona acting weird.
Joker is pale and tense, whereas Mona looks….awkward?
“You need to leave” Joker speaks almost…hesitantly? What is his deal? Does ... .does he have a crush on Niijima? That’s adorable and Angel definitely plans on teasing him later but first they need to handle Kamoshida and their unwanted stowaway.
“What? No, I'm not leaving until I know what’s going on!” Typical Niijima, Angel thought before deciding to be blunt.
“We’re in Kamoshida's mind and plan on making him confess for his sins”
Niijima blinks confused. Mona facepalms. Joker looks uncomfortable.
Before Niijima says anything else Angel pushes her to the real world
“You can look like a sad puppy later Joker, for now we have a job to do.’
“R…right.”
Outside, Makoto Niijima notices a strange new app on her phone and clicks on it
“YOU DAMN BRATS, I AM KING AND YOU ARE NOTHING!”
Shadow Kamoshida says before sending them flying.
Damn he’s a lot harder with only 3 people instead of 4. Ren thought. I really should’ve listened to Mo-
“Oh? A new pet has come to join?” Ren hears the Shadow say and is filled with dread. Damnit i should’ve known makoto wouldn’t have just…walked away.
“What is going on!? Ka…Mr. Kamoshida what..are you?”
“Oh Niijima, how nice of you to join us. Looks like after I get rid of these intruders I get a nice reward.”
Ren tries to move but he’s trapped under some rubble Shiho is trying to get him out of.
“MAKOTO RUN!” He notices Shiho looks at him oddly for his use of Makoto’s given name but he doesn’t care. Can’t. He barely notices anything else Kamoshida says, then he hears a scream.
“SHUT UP! I AM NOT A PUSHOVER!”
Is she about to..?
His question is answered as a blue explosion knocks down Kamoshida and frees Ren from the rubble. He doesn’t move at first. Damn it. Now she might die again-
“FOCUS JOKER!” He looks to Makoto fully awakened and nods.
Meanwhile Angel is confused. How does she know his codename is Joker?
Well that went smoother than last time Ren thought as Shiho walked off giving Makoto a weird stare.
Wonder what that’s all about- He’s cut off when Makoto’s arms wrap around him.
“Oh Ren.”
Ren immediately wraps his arms around her.
She remembers…. But..how? …Her awakening. She got her memories back when she awakened. That means the others can get their memories back too. But first Ren kisses the love of his life for the first time in what feels like eternity.
For the first time since he came back, he feels….happy.
