Christmas 2021.
Twenty years ago, David was born to a mother he doesn't know and a mother that his dad describes at the worst of the worst.
Cheating, serial mass murder, the whole nine yards, all in a small town.
Well, he wants to go back and see if his mom is still alive somehow. The thing is, the actual town itself was disbanded and is now a ghost town. So their only option is to move to its sister town, Kettle Springs.
His father, Stu, is reluctant but agrees to help him anyway. They do their research and discover a massacre perpetrated by one of the sister town's figures, Arthur Hill, happened the year before they decide to move.
Stu thinks it's a bad idea and is very uneasy about it. David thinks it could be good for both of them. He's even more inclined to think it's easy when he meets Quinn Maybrook, one of the massacre survivors.
Oh, how fucking wrong both of them were. Because the axis of evil is gathering deep inside of Kettle Springs…
