Summary
"You would think he would get enough of clowns at home," the woman working the booth said to Rust as he pocketed the long string of tickets he had just purchased. "Is that why he's making you pay?"
[D]espite what the woman at the ticket booth and pretty much everyone in their town chose to believe -- Cole wasn't sick of Frendo.
Or clowns in general.
He was about to turn sixteen, and he already was brewing up ideas for when he took over Baypen. And he wasn't going to be ditching Frendo. No, the clown just needed a little make over[.]

Summary
What if Clown In A Cornfield wasn't a slasher.
Kettle Springs is just like every other sleepy small town in the Pacific Northwest, everyone knows everyone and nothing bad happens here, that is until Victoria Hill goes missing one night. Cole Hill is wracked with guilt from that night, the night he let his sister walk into the woods and never come out. His father blames him he knows, but between Victoria and his mother's terminal cancer his father's odd distance is the least of his concerns especially when bodies start turning up and the entity he sees might not be just in his nightmares.
Quinn Maybrook didn't want to move across the country to a small town but her mother and father insist this is a good thing, the fresh air and small town will be good for Mom's recovery and Dad's anxieties, so Quinn's making the best of a bad situation. The longer she stays in Kettle Springs and the closer she becomes with the locals the more she realizes something here is wrong and if she can't figure out a way to stop it, something in the woods will take them all, including her and her parents.

Summary
To say that Ruston Vance enjoyed solitude would be an understatement. He reveled in it, sought it actively-in his room at late night, hunting in the woods, in long, quiet drives in his truck. He had never craved another person's presence, and most often when he was with others, he wished he was alone. He liked peace, liked silence, liked stability and sureness.
Until he met Colton Hill.
Named after the song ‘Francesca’ by Hozier!

Summary
‘Colton? Hey, you with me?’ Rust questions, his shoulder bumping into Cole some undetermined time later. The sun has started setting, and it’s noticeably cooler, but it’s the first time Cole is taking stock of it. His eyes finally leave the patch of corn, tilting his head towards Rust.
‘What’? He asks, a bit dazed. Rust is watching with thoughtful eyes, and Cole hates it. Knows that if Rust has this look in his eyes it means he can tell something is not quite right. He’s supposed to be relaxing.or: Cole and Rust decide to go hunting together sometime after the Frendo attacks. This however causes some uncomfortable memories to resurface for Cole

Summary
Despite their differences, maybe that was one of the few things that Victoria Hill and Ruston Vance had in common. They both spent their lives loving Cole and hating him all the same. They were fighting the same war, on the same side of the battlefield, just for different victories.
Or, Victoria Hill and the realization that she doesn’t actually know anything at all, which included her own brother.

Summary
Cole is debating whether his sense of principles is aligned and configured in the right trajectory because there is no reason for him to be on this trip to the middle of a mountain to go camping with Ruston Vance. Before? Of course. Now? Ghost of a chance. Gambling on sneaking a peek at Ruston’s curls as the wind blows, styling them up while bouncing to an unfamiliar beat, Cole blames genetics for giving the redneck a beautiful set of hair. If he absorbs more of Ruston’s presence, he will commit to jumping out of the truck.

A headcanon I have about exploring is those hunting trips they took together, and how the last time was really the last time they went on before they drifted away. Something along those lines, yeah.

Summary
Sparing a glance at Quinn, who is busy fixing her own drink, Cole’s gaze suddenly catches on a familiar figure donned in rustic patterns-– and oh, he needs to get much drunker much faster.
As if he hasn’t been tested enough tonight, in a stroke of misfortune worse than being struck by lightning, in walks the elusive Ruston Vance.
Actually, Cole would prefer to be struck by lightning. At least he’d be out of here.

Summary
Everything Colton Hill had ever touched wilted beneath his finger tips, died at the first signs of his affection. The irony of it was that Cole himself never actually died. It was like a sick game Cole played with fate, how many times could he knock on death’s door before it finally let him in.
Or Colton Hill is fucked up in a million ways, and Rust is willing to look past it all.

And right when Rust lifted his body up to shimmy off his pants, there was a knock.
“Fuck, fuck, fuck,” Cole whispered as he scrambled off Rust. “Under.”
He made it under just on time, the doorknob twisting and Quinn entering with a smirk. “There you are, everyone’s been looking for the party host.”
OR
Cole is seeing Rust in private despite being with Quinn. What else was he supposed to do? He needed to keep up his golden boy status.
