   Summary

Astraea Alvarez has always lived her life under the shadow of her mother's mysterious betrayal, isolated by her city she feels untethered. Everyone around her seems to follow the Fates as though it were a natural thing and yet she just doesn't feel connected to them. Their neighbouring country, Eldora, is plagued by an unknown illness, furious, their old king flies into a rage and declares war on Astraea's country Demeris. Stuck in an unwanted battle, the desperate government of Demeris sends two young adventurers off on a journey to deliver a cure created by their best scientists in hopes of peace after years of struggle. Selected to accompany the city's golden knight, Kaelion Reid, Astraea finds herself trapped in her own heated feud, but could Kaelion's brooding hatred actually mean something different to what she thinks?
