Work Text:

Feel like a machine in need of repair.
Can’t do anything if I dared.
I’m full of broken promises, when will I be strong again?
Feel frozen, trapped under ice.
Trapped by the thing on which I glide…

Yeah, I hate when I cry.
My tears are from selfish lies.

But for you, you know I fantasize

Of bringing light back to your eyes,

And making the dark go away,

But I can’t do that if I’m astray.

Please don’t look at me like that.
Your eyes are making my voice crack.
I keep chasing bloodshot dreams, like they’re more than they seem.
But what can I do to truly smile?
Without my insides feeling so vile?
Why do I want lives that aren’t mine… when you’ve put yours on the line?

But for you, you know I fantasize

Of bringing light back to your eyes,

Making the dark go away,

But I can’t do that when I’m astray.

Please don’t go, I’ll always need you.
I hate myself because I can’t tell the truth.
So I’ll keep breaking down again and again.
These crocodile tears flow more than ten.
Snap your jaws, break my heart.
Raise your voice at my filthy art.
Cut my hair, it’s time for bed.
I don’t care, as long as your voice fills my head.

Because you know I fantasize,

Of bringing light back to your eyes,

Make the joint pain go away,

But I can’t do that if I’m astray.

Yeah, you know that I fantasize,

Of bringing light back to your eyes.

You deserve a better way.

I don’t deserve the risks you take.

Yeah, I hope you know I fantasize

Of bringing light back to your eyes

Can’t promise you a year from now

I’ll turn your frown upside down

And before you go, I’ll have you know

One day my words won’t be for show…
