The Not So Rigorous Hiring Process of the Ahjin Guild

Summary:

Jin-Chul finally convinces Jin-Woo that running a two-man guild is crazy. Though he would've done so while standing in a room of people he deemed qualified for the job, if he knew Jin-Woo would just hire anyone in sight.

Cha Hae-In

“And why should I consider your application, hm?” Jin-Woo asked, hands intertwined above the desk.

Hae-In shot an unimpressed look but played along.“Well, I quit my very stable job for the chance to work here.”

“Yes, but does that really-”

“-If you'll remember,” she cut him off, patience clearly wearing thin. “I'm also your girlfriend.”

Jin-Woo sat up straight. “Excellent point. Welcome to the team!”

Yoo Soohyun

“What could you say you'll bring to our guild?”

“Uhh…Like good exposure n’ stuff. I’m great at the social media angle.” she answers, glancing up at Jin-Woo in between her typing spree.

“Yeah…”

The door opened and Jin-Ho poked his head through.  His eyes sparkled with recognition and he slinked over to Jin-Woo. "Hyung, that's my cousin. She's been job hunting for a few months now.” he leaned in and whispered.

Jin-Woo gave a slight nod before sending him off.

“Congratulations, you're hired!”

Soohyun stared at him. “Sweet! Can I get a photo?”

Esil Radiru

“-How did you even get here?” Jin-Woo muttered while attempting to shake her off of his leg.

“PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE.” She looked up at him, eyes filled with tears. “I’M A GREAT EMPLOYEE I SWEAR.  HIRE MEEEEEE.”

“Esil you're not even human. You don't need a job.”

“I DOOOOOO. JIN-WOO, PLEASEEEE.”

Jin-Woo could feel the migraine coming on, so he just sighed and relented. “Okay, okay, fine you're hired.”

She sniffed “...Really?” she asked in a meek voice.

“Yes. Happy?”

Esil bolted upwards, pumping her fist. “HAHAHA! VICTORY IS MINE!”

Han Song-Yi

“No.” Jin-Woo says flatly.

“I didn't even say anything yet.”

He crossed his arms. “I’m going for professionalism, not high school student.”

Song-Yi huffed. “Elf girl got in.”

“She’s older than she looks …I think…”

“Well then, I guess I'll go work in those dangerous dungeons, with dangerous people, because my own best friend's brother doesn't want to hire me.”

He dropped his face into his hands.“Ohmygod. Fine, you're hired.”

“YAY!” a voice shouted from outside the meeting-room door. Jin-Ah entered the room, practically bouncing. "When do we start?” she asked.

“Jin-Ah, I hired your friend, not you.” he looked over at Song-Yi who just shrugged.

“We’re a package deal.” she said.

“Whatever.” Jin-Woo got up to leave. “ You're not getting a paycheck, though!” he yelled without turning back.

Jin-Chul was quite shocked when he learned of how quickly Jin-Woo was able to get some new employees.

Sure, the line of applicants was practically out the door, but screening them and ensuring they had proper qualifications was another job in itself.

“I told you Jin-Chul, there was never any reason to doubt me.” Jin-Woo boasted.

Jin-Chul paused his stride once he got inside the building, looking rather unimpressed. “Jin-Woo, it seems as if you've just hired immediate friends and family.”

“Not true. Look over there.” he said, pointing to a desk in the corner.

“Is that Adam White?!”

Adam waved enthusiastically. “I get vacation days now!”

Notes:

I like to imagine the vacation days was all it took to get Adam to leave his old job
