Summary
His hands rise up, meeting Kaiser’s face, but the touch isn’t registered. On the surface, his words have become gentler, much less grating—yet he can still feel the threat bubbling within, aimed solely at him.
His grin widens. “My finest clown.”
“You…!”
Kaiser reaches to grab onto his shoulder, to assert dominance despite his pathetic display, but finds nothing. This man, this thing, this momentary discrepancy in his vision, explodes into a variety of colors before fading altogether.
In that moment, Kaiser’s ears start ringing, a sharp pain piercing into his mind, devouring his senses. He grabs onto his head, pulling it closer towards his body, resisting the urge to scream.
It’s the first time he sees Isagi, not in his real form, but as a mental image that plagues his mind.
Right before the World Cup—Kaiser’s second, and Isagi’s first—news spreads online that Isagi has disappeared.
Kaiser finds that this hallucination, something he believes he’s somewhat come to terms with, is no longer just a figment of his obsessive imagination.
