Chapter Text
Rain poured outside, small rivulets flowing down the windows. Walker (Washington) was sifting through the gallery in his camera, the tiny wings on their head fluttering. Where was the picture they took of Sasquatch?
“Shit shit shit… where is the picture? I remember taking it earlier…” Walker (Washington) whispered as their phone buzzed with a message from Kaiden (Kentucky).
KT: When are you sending that pic? You better have it and not lose it like last time
Walker (Washington) groaned as they reached the end of the album. They lost the image. Again. How do they keep losing the photos of this cryptid every single time? They reached for their phone.
WA: Will you kill me if I lost it?
KT: You lost it again, didn’t you?
Walker (Washington) sighed as they turned off their phone. Goddamnit. They turned to their computer, their browser open on the Parawatch Wiki forum. Was there anyone that experienced evidence disappearing from their cameras? There had to be, they weren’t careless enough to misplace digital photos. They started to type up a short question.

I’m having an issue with getting photos of supposed cryptids or creatures. I have been taking pictures in the Gifford Pinchot National Forest. As some of you may know, this forest is a common spot for Sasquatch, or Bigfoot. I was planning on procuring some images of my own sightings of this fascinating cryptid, but after returning to my home, my pictures (that I swore I took) are all missing. Does anyone else have these issues of having certain pictures erased from your gallery when you remember clearly that you took it? Or am I just hallucinating?
Walker sighed as they looked outside. The pitter-patter of the rain filled the empty noise left by their silence. They opened the storage of their camera again. The missing photos still nagged at their mind.
“Somthing wrong, Washy?” Oak (Oregon) asked. It walked around, holding a steaming cup of mocha as its yellow beaver tail swayed. Its steps vanished within the sound of the rain pitter-pattering against the house.
“Yeah… Well, I lost my images. Again. I swear, I feel like I’m hallucinating…” Walker sighed as they gently grabbed the cup, “Thanks. For the coffee, I mean.”
Oak (Oregon) giggled softly, moving some of its hair out of its face. It sat on Walker’s bed with a contemplative look. “... maybe you should stick to regular photography. I don’t think this… whole paranormal investigative journalism thing is going to work out,” it suggested quietly as it observed Walker.
“... maybe… but… why are you looking at me like that? Is something on me?” Walker asked as they self-consciously dusted their clothes.
“Well, no…” Oak trailed off before it stopped itself. Its gaze landed on an object behind Walker’s ear.
“... you’re saying it weirdly. There is something on me, isn’t there?” Walker asked as their hand brushed over a flower behind their ear. Wait, a flower? They plucked it out carefully before staring at it. This… wasn’t there before, and they certainly didn’t randomly put a flower behind their ear. “... what…?” they murmured.
“Huh… interesting…” Oak mused as it stood up and took the flower from Walker’s hands. Its hand brushed over the petals with quiet reverence.
“Did you put it there or…” Walker trailed off as they reached for the flower, their small headwings twitching. Oak simply shook its head as it placed the flower back behind their ear.
“It… fits you. I think…” Oak mused as it spun around towards the door. Its tail twitched a bit. The faint aroma of oak and pine wafted through the air as it walked to the exit. “I need to go. I have business to attend to,” it said quietly.
“Oh? Alright then, just be careful, seems like it’s pouring outside…” Walker nodded as they touched the flower tucked behind their ear. They turned back to their computer screen. Oh, seems like they got a response to their post.

I do know that some posts get deleted mysteriously. That does mean we are getting some things correct, but it also means that some org is watching us.

I might have an idea as to what might be causing this. Does anyone recognize this logo? Had to recreate it by myself since the image is so blurry…

looks vaguely familiar. remember seeing it near some facility. definitely a shadow government.
Walker sighed as they looked at the screen. They weren’t a huge government conspiracist, considering that the US government, and honestly by extension, every government, was a walking-talking human to some extent. Although, they didn’t know if “human” is the right word to describe those personifications…
They stared at the little drawing posted in the discussion page. They took a sip of their mocha as they tried to make out the image attached to the sketch.
That insignia…
Where had they seen that?
Their memory was cloudy as they tried to recall the location on where they had seen it. But a vague recollection was in there, somewhere within the haze.
“That… that facility. In Michigan… ” Walker murmured, their eyes widening. That’s right. They had visited Michigan after Milo (Michigan) started to grow extremely sick. He had told them about that strange top-secret facility within his state. God, wonder how Milo (Michigan) was right now. They had heard that he could finally walk, but his legs were too weakened to walk without Lofstrand crutches.
“Maybe… whatever runs the facility… is hiding the paranormal…?” Walker whispered, “... no, that can’t be… there’s no way that there is an entire organization dedicated to hiding something as trivial as the paranormal… unless…” he began to pull out his phone.
WA: Kaiden, I have an idea for an urbexing venture
