    The air burned in Rumi's lungs as she ran. She needed to keep moving. She couldn't stop. Not now, maybe not ever.

    "Come back!" one of the Hunters behind her yelled, voice echoing down the empty street. Rumi bit back a sob. She wasn't going to ask why they wouldn't just leave her alone, she was a demon, she deserved to die by their hands. And normally she would have laid down at their feet and let them kill her. But now-

    "We just want to talk!" the other Hunter called.

    Now she didn't think killing her was what they had in mind. And that was worse. That was so much worse.

    Or. A few days after Rumi summons a starlight sword into existence, the Hunters track her down
