Summary
He could hear Oscar speaking, could hear him breathing.
Oscar.
The man sitting next to him, in the back seat of the car, who just got him. Who, even in the couple of months that he had known him, had already become a constant in his life. Who saw him. Who hugged him like he was the only thing that mattered. Who understood what it meant to be a racing driver, drifting through the world without a tether. Who knew what it was like to be under the spotlight, to face down the blinding lights of millions of critics. Who faced down every challenge that was thrown at him, and came out on the other side.
Who looked at Lando like he hung the moon.
Who made Lando feel that, maybe, just maybe, everything would be okay.
