“You’re so beautiful.”
Shadow Milk barks a laugh at that. “Hah! You truly are a good liar when it suits you, Nilly.” He smirks, flicking Pure Vanilla’s forehead.
“No, really.” Pure Vanilla frowns, hand coming up to cup Shadow Milk’s cheek. “You’re the most gorgeous being I’ve ever seen in my life,” he continues, staring into Shadow Milk’s eyes. “Even with the entire English language, even with a dictionary and thesaurus at hand, your beauty would remain something indescribable. Inside and out. You’re so beautiful it’s something my brain itself cannot fathom.”
Shadow Milk Cookie feels his cheeks heat up.
“I love you so much, bluebird. Not just for your outer beauty; but the inner. That’s what I fell in love with—and that won’t change. I love you so much.” Pure Vanilla leans in, placing a light peck on his jester’s lips, before pulling away and continuing. “If I had a jar, and I had to put a coin in that jar for every time I looked at you and thought, “Wow. Gorgeous.” I fear I’d go bankrupt.”
“Okay I get it now. You can stop.”
“You have such a beautiful smile. And a voice I could listen to for eternity without getting bored. Adorable mismatched eyes of cerulean and teal.” He leans in again, pressing the two’s lips together once more; lingering longer this time.
“Wonderfully soft and alluring lips.” The king murmurs against Shadow Milk’s lips.
He pulls away again, though by barely an inch—returning to pepper soft kisses against every inch of Shadow Milk’s face as the beast giggles in return.
“Breathtaking azure skin.” Pure Vanilla kisses Shadow Milk’s left eyelid. “Lashes I thought only existed in fairytales.” He kisses Shadow Milk’s ears. “Pointed ears—just adorable.”
After a while of this, Shadow Milk decides the fool is having too much fun, and pushes him off.
“Ooookay, Nilla. That’s enough now.” He sneers, grinning like an idiot.
“Aw.” Pure Vanilla pouts, gazing at the beast like a puppy, eyes more lovesick than possibly imaginable. “I haven’t even got to your-“
“Bedtime.” Shadow Milk hisses through thoroughly flushed cheeks.
Pure Vanilla’s pout only deepens. “Fine.” He kisses Shadow Milk once more. “But only because I love you.”
“That’s good enough for me.”
“I don’t know what I’d do without you in my life.”
“Well, bluebird, I like to think there is not a single universe where we don’t find each other somehow.”
“Sap.”
