Summary
Yuna Hollander will not make the same mistake twice.
The moment Shane Hollander is strong enough to hold a stick she puts a sword in his hand.
A wooden one.
Then a metal one with dull edge
Then a sharp edge
Bow and arrows, axes, spears, knives, knots, camp, fire, botanical knowledge - both medical and poison.
And, maybe most important - strategic intelligence.
She makes him watch every single game until he is numb to the death and carnage.
Then she makes him watch it again and analyses every winner.
And again, and again, and again, until he knows it by heart, until he can cite it all in his sleep. She will NOT lose her son.
Not this time.
Not again.Or: Shane is a trained winner since birth- all that remains now is getting selected for the hunger games, but this is only a question of when not if. Ilya is making his victory round in every district after winning the games when he meets this awkward obsessed freckled creature who won’t stop bugging him about tips for winning and “what was your strategy? When did you start training? Any advices?”, Ilya doesn’t think he is very impressed with his sincere, honest approach of “don’t get killed sweetheart”.
