When Lex turned the sun red Lena had just graduated from university at nineteen. The world was at her feet and yet all she could think about was yet another disappointment from her family how just like with high school neither Lillian and Lex had attended her graduation yet Superman had. So when on the streets of Metropolis the sky turns red she knows he's in trouble. She knows it's Lex. She seeks to protect the Man of Steel as she knows he'll suddenly be without his powers. And though she doesn't at first succeed she would try try again...

New location purchased renovated/built staff moved/hired. Just that last alone would take a year. She had to have chosen National City... before Supergirl donned the cape.
