    I don’t drink often, especially by myself. But today had gone particularly poorly so why not stop at the little a few blocks from my house. It’s cozy and rustic feeling; regulars populate tables and bar space around me.

    The warm chatter around me lulls me into a comfortbility. It’s surprisingly relaxing in here, at least on week days.

    I’m sipping my beer when a man takes the seat beside me at the bar. He’s big, kind of rugged looking. Brown hair and a build that suggests he’s strong even under the thick layer of fat over him. He smiles at me, warm brown eyes crinkling at the corners. His teeth are uncomfortably white against his tanned skin.

    “How’s it goin’ buddy,” he greats me like an old friend.
