Work Text:
Nick,
the day I first saw you - thanks Mr. Lange - I knew my life had changed. But I never expected to find so much safety, understanding, compassion, love, and dorkiness all in one straight rugby lad. And everything safe the last part is still true. I don’t know what the future holds for us. But today, here in front of our friends and families, I promise you that we will find a way to deal with it. I love you, today even more than when I first told you through your damn bathroom door. I’m so lucky to have you. And I am so proud and grateful to be a part of Nick and Charlie. I promise that I’ll do everything I can to make sure we stay Nick and Charlie for the rest of our lives.
Dearest Charlie,
finally standing here with you is like a dream. I never thought I’d find someone who accepts me just as I am, with all my shortcomings, my cringe and my struggles. But then you came into my life. You don’t only accept me for exactly who I am, but you also love me for it. I’m happy that I’ll have the rest of our lives to show you just how much that means to me.
I love you, with my whole heart and soul and everything I am. I promise you that I will do everything in my power to never let you down, just as you have never let me down. I can’t wait to discover life with you every day. I know there will be challenges and dark times. But I also know that we’ll keep each other safe, just like we’ve always done.
“Okay, first one to start crying will pay for the honeymoon,” Charlie sobbed.
“Well, lucky me, then. Seems I already won.” Nick pulled Charlie into his arms and tenderly wiped away the tears.
Charlie snuggled into his arms. “Don’t bet on it, Nelson. I still have time to practise.”
