Work Text:
Trinity shivers as she and Samira walk through the little street festival. She hadn't realized that it would get quite so chilly tonight, so she's only in the light jacket she'd worn for today's earlier adventures. Samira, on the other hand, was impeccably prepared. She is in a decent coat, hat, mittens, and a scarf. She'd apparently been hauling it in her backpack the whole day just for this moment.
Samira looks so delightfully bundled up that it makes Trinity smile. Everything is mismatched too— a green hat, blue mittens, and red scarf that all look handmade. There's some misshapen and scraggly bits, but it only adds to the charm for Trinity. Admittedly, she finds most things Samira does charming, but she doesn't think she's that biased. Samira looks like belongs in a cozy Hallmark movie.
Trinity ignores her chattering teeth to extend her arm to Samira to escort her. "Sh-sh-shall we, my lady?"
Samira narrows her eyes at her. "Are you cold, Trinity?"
"I'm fine!" Trinity insists. Samira looks at her skeptically. "Fine, ye-e-e-e-s-s-s I am, a little."
"Aww baby, caught unprepared in the big, bad outdoors," Samira coos to Trinity, a glimmer of mischief in her eyes.
Trinity pouts at her girlfriend, playing along with whatever Samira is doing. Getting to see Samira's playful side is a privilege, one that she loves to indulge.
"I know how to warm you, sweetheart," Samira continues with the same teasing tone. Trinity can't help it. She perks up at that.
"Oh yeah? And how is that?" Trinity responds, sliding her arm around Samira's back to pull her closer.
Samira pulls off her scarf, wraps the red fabric around Trinity's neck, and pulls her in even closer. "Like this." Then Samira leans forward and pecks a kiss onto Trinity's lips, then goes to pull back. Before she can get very far, Trinity pulls her right back in, her hand anchoring in Samira's hair. She lets her up after a few wolf whistles and cheers go up. Apparently, a little crowd had gathered while they were absorbed in each other.
Samira's reddened ears are cute, and Trinity can't resist leaning in for one more quick kiss. "I feel warm now," Trinity smirks. Samira's blush deepens, and it thrills Trinity that she can do that to the usually unflappable woman.
They wander around the little festival for a while, stealing kisses between booths. However, despite the scarf and being practically glued to Samira's side, Trinity can't stop shivering as the night wears on and the chill sets in further. Eventually, she knows she has to call it.
"Any chance I can entice you to come home with me, stranger?"
Samira slumps against her briefly before straightening. "Sure can, pretty girl. Let's go." Trinity smiles to herself as Samira slips her hand into hers and they wander towards the exit.
