I’ve worked at a company for four years now, and this company is divided into many departments and sectors. I happen to be in one and this colleague that I’m talking about is in another (I will refer to him as coworker) so we don’t cross paths much but since we are in the same environment, avoiding him is almost impossible, trust me I tried. I can’t explain how it all began, but during the end of 2025 he was really nice. I was running for a promotion at my job but it ended up not happening, and he was one of the few people who actually believed me when everything started to fall. I can’t get into detail but he is like a commentator or smth, so when he says nice things about me it helps my workplace image plus it’s just cool I guess.
He was really sweet, even when everybody was shitting on me and I think that was a turning point to how I see him. It started with a thought, and then noticing how good he looked. I mean, green eyes? Curly hair? It’s not even a question, he is objectively pretty. He puts real effort into dressing well which is the complete opposite of me, and he does look nice in his fits, he also smells good because of some brand perfume thing he uses, it’s a bunch of things really. These are some stuff I started to pay attention to and this all has been bugging me because I’m straight.
I used to have a girlfriend during 2025, but because I was so focused on getting the promotion, we ended up breaking up after three years of dating. I never really questioned my sexuality before. Sure, kissing a dude or two at 16 shouldn’t count as much. I’ve been thinking about this (and about him) so much that it’s taking all my focus away. I know for a fact that he is gay, that’s kinda of what he’s known for so it’s just a me thing to be confused and panicking. I don’t know what to do or if I’m gay too and I have no one to turn to rn so yeah, a bit of advice would be good.

Listen kid, here comes advice from someone who lived it and been through it. I am 39 years old and only found out I was queer nine years ago. You could say it was a hell of time wasted or that I am too old for that but the truth is: love will come to you. It’s not a matter of age or who you’ve dated before, believe it or not I had a wife before meeting my (now) boyfriend.
My point is: do not worry about what has happened, or what will happen, and focus on now. Do you like this guy? Go for it! You can come later and find out you’re bisexual or whatever fills your plate. He seems like a great lad, and you too don’t seem bad intentioned. Of course you have to take some time for you because changes like these don’t happen naturally. I wish you all the best!

The Formula One Magician: Meet Oscar Piastri
In the buzz of the paddock, the face of Oscar Piastri, fresh and politely smiling, arrives earlier than expected. It’s not common, he says, and media teams shouldn’t expect it to happen again. He brings an excited energy, eager as his fourth season in Formula One could be.
As a new regulation hunts the life of every team, Oscar doesn’t make himself too worried about what that could mean. “These things are developed with time,” he says, showing how much of a mature sense he has. When asked if that could impact McLaren more than expected, he chuckles: “I don’t think so. Of course, it’s not going to be easy, and we are certainly a way off what we thought we were, but still, these are just things that take time to get on the right foot again.”
McLaren comes from two World Constructors Championship wins in a row, bouncing back from dark times that followed the team till the recent start of the 2023 season, where further in the year, a key switch for them. “The team knows where we have to change, sometimes we get on a weekend, and a new problem will appear, but the right feedback will point them to the right way to solve it.”
Piastri has his own way of managing problems, as most of them are unexpected, he shrugs off, thinking a little before answering, “I think I deal with it better nowadays.” Oscar explains his feelings towards it: “There’s pressure to deliver, obviously, you want to do a good job, and it doesn’t always go as planned, but the secret is how to get back from that.”
Oscar Piastri comes out of a title fight during the 2025 season, finishing third in his third year as a driver, quite a huge difference from his previous standings. Surely, he can talk about things not going as planned. Piastri started the year with an unfortunate DNS in his home country, followed by another in the Chinese Grand Prix main race. The Australian star could proceed to get a podium finish in the Suzuka track, bringing the team important points. But how does it feel to Oscar Piastri to stand on a podium?
“It’s one of the best feelings you could get, the awareness that it all paid off and you can finally breathe a little is, yeah, it’s unmatched.” Piastri has his fair share of standing in the golden three steps, making sure to pick a favorite. “Winning in Spa was certainly one of my favorite moments, just a really good track, and I always look forward to it.”
He also holds a special spot in his heart for Albert Park, a track he aims to win in. Now living in the fancy streets of Monaco, in a cozy place decorated with plastic Lego flowers, trophy replicas, and pictures of his family, he shares his feelings:
“I miss it, didn’t realize how much I missed home till I was too far away from it. But when your goal is to be an F1 driver, there are things you have to give away to achieve that. I left home quite early to compete and, you know, give it a shot, so yeah, I miss it. You learn to deal with those emotions, but if I could teleport to anywhere in the world right now, it would be Australia.”
With a heavy accent reminding him where his roots come from, Piastri is quite proud to represent his country. Asked if he expects the public to believe in him, Oscar bites his lips, thinking for a longer while.
“I guess, yes. I want them to like me to some extent, to believe I can bring home a championship and win races. I expect them to like me for who I am.”
Piastri holds some special and funny records on his list, from becoming the first Australian since 1960 to score a Grand Slam to being one of the few drivers who ever scored a podium on their birthday. Ruthless on wheels but calmer on the outside, Oscar claims to be a guy who would rather chase a calm lifestyle rather than making things difficult for himself. “Personally I try to avoid stuff that I know will bring me down or cause some type of trouble. I just want to live my life and enjoy it.”
Between jokes and warm smiles, the Australian reveals his claws: the desire to win a championship. “I still have plenty of time, I’m young, single, just getting started. There are some tricks up my sleeve that would leave you shocked.”
Piastri thinks he got what it takes to be one of the big names in Formula One and puts it on view for the increasing number of different fans who now approach the sport. With his unique way of overtaking, his speed, and his calming voice, Oscar makes sure to comment on the topic. “Support is always nice, as I said, whether you’re driving in your home country or somewhere else, it’s nice to see people rooting for you. I do hope the sport can become welcoming for different people, so everyone, no matter who they are, can be here.”

For context, this is a continuation of this.
Well, after that I’d like to say things ran smoothly but they didn’t. I did as I thought it would be best and got closer to my coworker. From my point of view I was pretty obvious with my signs, and most of the jokes I did had a bit of a spicy undertone just to make sure I was being straight to the point. Turns out I wasn’t. After inviting him over to my house, we were playing some card games, and he kissed me, but I didn’t know how to react and ended up sounding like I didn’t like it. It was just some really awkward miscommunication now that I look back at it. During my moment of despair and frustration and having been blocked in most social media, I tried approaching him in our workplace, kinda dumb, but what else would I do? Unfortunately, it was a very field day, so he said we should talk somewhere else but then, when we got to “somewhere else”, he just went, “I have to do this and that, bye” so yeah, not very helpful.
After that, one of my friends did talk to him on my behalf, and he unblocked me, then we had a conversation that managed to clear up the important points and I could tell him I liked him. He came over again after that and I could explain myself a bit better and kiss him too, plus other stuff that this subreddit won’t allow me to talk about. He’s very sweet and thoughtful, it’s like he’s always thinking one step ahead. He’s also terribly more energetic than me, which is not hard, but he has lots (and I mean LOTS) of stamina, he even willingly goes to the gym instead of doing it as an obligation like me. He sleeps later than me, likes to listen to country music and is very good at games. We are planning to take a trip together on vacation, though we travel a lot bc of work, he wants to take me to “a real party” so we’ll see how that goes.
Nothing’s changed at work, but also we aren’t publicly dating yet. I feel like some of the people in my area are starting to notice, besides a close friend that is one of the few who knows. I think he told one of his friends too, but still, very private. He wants to wait for a right moment to do so, and honestly, I agree we are in the middle of a very busy moment at work. Overall, that’s it! Thanks to everyone who helped and gave me useful advice in the original post! See ya!

See, this is what I’m talking about! There’s no right moment of age for love! Happy you could get together with the man you love, son. Unfortunately it’s not like that for all of us so make sure to enjoy all time with him. I used to love a man like that too, full of energy and love but never had that dog in me to tell him. We became friends and I had to watch him get married to someone else knowing it could’ve been me if I had the courage to tell him I loved him. Enjoy your time, really, it’s gonna be something you’ll look behind for.
