Lando doesn’t mean to say it, doesn’t even realize the words are slipping out until Oscar’s head lifts, eyes sharp, breath caught somewhere between anger and something softer.
“I don’t know what we are,” Lando murmurs, voice low and cracking at the edges. “Rivals, teammates, whatever. But you get under my skin in a way no one else does. And I hate it. And I need it. And I have no idea what to do with any of that.”
Oscar just stares at him, jaw tight, every emotion he’s been shoving down flickering across his face at once, hurt, confusion, want. -

Summary
Lando was late again, by exactly one minute.
Oscar glanced at his watch, then at him. “Late. We start tomorrow.”
That set Lando off immediately. He hissed under his breath, furious, but careful not to shout inside the library.
“By a fucking minute?!”
“Irresponsible,” Oscar said flatly, as if Lando’s outburst barely registered.
Or, Lando Norris, a fourth-year business management student and captain of the university’s soccer team, is one failure away from being benched, which could also jeopardize his graduation. Oscar Piastri, on the other hand, is a third-year medical student, top of his class, a certified nerd, and brilliant enough to tutor. A university scholar that tutors for the money.
Oscar is Lando’s tutor. Lando, used to getting away with everything, money, a stellar reputation, a name that opens doors, has never had to struggle to stay on top. Oscar despises people like him. He hates that someone can coast through life on charm and wealth while others, like him, have to work relentlessly for every scrap of success. Lando embodies everything Oscar loathes.

"Back to you, though," Lando looked at George. "What's wrong with the current job?"
"Nothing. Just not paying enough."
"Suck your boss' dick? He might pay you more then," Lando offered yet another sex related idea.
"He has a wife," George glared.
"And? He might be suppressing some homosexual feelings."

Or in which George is trying his best to make money while preferably keeping his dignity, and his friends are anything but helpful. Spolier: he doesn't succeed. But hey, who wouldn't want Max Verstappen to be their sugar daddy? Well, apparently George. -

How exactly was he supposed to tell Oscar?
How was he meant to explain that loving him felt like the most natural thing he’d ever done, and that the only thing that made it unbearable was the knowledge that it wasn’t allowed?
That every time he let himself get close the fear came crashing down harder, vivid and choking, like God had a hand around his throat and Hell laid out beneath his feet as consequence.
—
CEO Lando Norris, the youngest millionaire in the area, is terrified of hell, especially when his assistant makes it feel awfully close.
