Summary
To live a life at sea, there are risks you must accept. For the merchants, it’s pirates. For pirates, it’s the navy. For the navy, its war. And of course there are the shared threats; the sky and the sea take as much as they give. But the threat that truly turns those away from a life at sea is The Watchers.
The survivors, though few and far between, spoke of them with reverent fear. “They are all knowing,” they claim, “Making their way through ships as if they’ve walked them a hundred times before. They are everywhere and nowhere.” Some claimed that they were Gods wreaking havoc across the seven seas while others said that they were a collection of ships hiding under the same name. But everyone agreed on one thing; if you see their flag, it’ll be the last thing you see.

Scar stood at the helm of the ship, watching as the crew moved across the deck with practiced ease. They had been sailing together for several years now and it showed. He glanced down at his compass to check the heading before turning the wheel a fraction to adjust the course with the changing wind. Looking up, he was just in time to see a blur of red collide with the mast and fall into the crows nest.
