Focused as he is on Hotguy, Cub barely notices himself being backed into a corner. Cub’s powers mean that the world holds very few actual corners for him, but- A selfish urge, to have Hotguy’s hands on him, to be slammed against a wall- To make the whole thing real.
A miscalculation. Hotguy does lay hands on him, but not to throw.

Hotguy’s power suppression cuffs. Cub had forgotten them. Hotguy never uses them on Cub.
Hotguy looks almost as startled as Cub does by his own actions. By the cuff on Cub’s wrist, real and solid.
If Cub phases out now, everyone will know. Hotguy will know. For the sake of his powers ruse, Cub has to pretend his powers are properly suppressed by the cuffs.
In a snap decision Cub may never understand about himself, he snatches the other cuff out of Hotguy’s hand, slapping it closed around Hotguy’s wrist with a second decisive click.Or:

GEM: Investigators Jimmy—sorry, James Shadolarity and Grian Moon had been very interested in a dungeon little ways out in the countryside. It is located somewhere in the east, near a few abandoned crumbling towns. It’s an area we’ve not visited for about two hundred years, as a Veylocke family member had reported no supernatural sightings; a simple plague ravaged the town and they closed it off for health safety. We’ve not visited it since then due to it simply slipping our minds and, you know Grian. He can’t let go of a mystery.

Summary
Jimmy stepped closer, to see what was it that had caused the crater, what was capturing Pearl’s attention.
When he stepped next to her, he spotted a big black something, possibly charred from its tumble through the atmosphere. It had a spiky texture, something that looked like feathers, if it wasn’t for the fact that they wouldn’t have survived the friction of such a long fall. Not to speak of the immense velocity and altitude a hypothetical feathered creature would have to reach to burn up and cause such an impact. Besides, no creature would have shattered upon impact like this thing did, with lavender light seeping through the cracks.
OR:
When Jimmy and Pearl are out in the forest, they find Grian who fell from the sky and forgot who he is. Grian watches. That’s what he’s supposed to do. And the only times he allows himself to be seen is when he runs around at night with Hotguy.

Unlike her, Joel couldn’t care for the destruction of the world, but fate sure does love him. After a chance encounter with Grian, he suddenly found himself in the web of The Agency. Meaning new friends, new dangers and new ways to act (that didn’t include causing chaos) being placed on his plate. And he would be fine with it, because he has Grian and Jimmy now.
Except behind the scenes, a new group of villains, The Watchers, rises and plans to destroy The Agency and everything it stands for, and if their plan succeeds, all superheroes will be eradicated once and for all.
It becomes Joel’s problem somehow.
