   Summary

The crash on Wickery Bridge should have taken Elena Gilbert's life. Instead, it awakened something buried deep in her bloodline.

Busy trying to piece her shattered life back together, Elena tries to ignore the strange energy beneath her skin and the blinding headaches that go with it.

Ignoring it, however, proves to be a mistake.

When that suppressed energy violently erupts, it hurls her back a thousand years into the past...

Right into the path of five newly turned Mikaelsons, fresh off their mother's dark ritual and fleeing a father who wants them dead.
