Lando woke up the next morning to a text messages from both Zak and Andrea which he chooses to ignore, he gets himself up and heads downstairs to see what is for breakfast. As Lando was eating his breakfast he was joined at the table by his mam, sensing he wasn't in the mood to talk his mam sat in silence while he finished his food which once he had done he then added his plate to the dishwasher. Once he had done this he tried to escape back up to his room but was stopped by his mam sweetheart is everything ok? knowing it is impossible to hide anything from his mam he just shakes his head as the tears start pouring and allows himself to be scooped into a hug, not currently knowing the reason for the out-pour of emotions Cisca just holds her son as he cries keeping the communication open knowing that once he has calmed down he will share whatever has caused his upset, once he has calmed he goes into the lounge with his mam, they both take a seat on the sofa, Lando then explains to his mam how he feels his season is going and that he is worried that Oscar will find out about his shy bladder and make fun of him, his mam reassures him that all will be fine and reminds him that he was worried about Carlos finding out a few years previous and when Carlos did eventually find out he was really supportive, while they are talking Lando's phone lights up with another call, he just glances at it before turning the phone over to not see it anymore. Cisca looks at him and as if he can read her mind he tells her just leave it then he disappears back up to his room where over the next few days he only comes out for meals and then goes back up to his room.
This carries on for the remainder of the week until it is time for Lando to face the team at the airport as he needs to head to Azerbaijan for the next race, the closer to the airport that Lando get the higher his anxiety gets, soon enough Lando was parking the car and before getting out and heading towards check-in and security he took a deep breath to hopefully steady his nerves. Once Lando had checked in and made his way through security he had his way towards first class lounge to get a drink and chill before his flight was called, once he got there he was met by Will and Jon who straight away started firing question at him wanting to know if he was ok and also why he hadn't been answering their calls or texts, he knew he couldn't ignore the situation any longer so he admitted that he was struggling with his condition and was worried of making a muppet of himself in front of Oscar, he also confessed that he nearly did on the factory day earlier in the week. While Lando explained all this Will and Jon both stayed silence, by the time he had finished explained they were joined by the rest of the team and it was time to board the plane. Lando was one of the first of the team to board the plane and find his seat which was by the window as usual, he quickly pulled his earphones, phone, book and blanket out of his bag before storing it in the over head lockers then taking his seat, he was then joined Oscar and Will, which caused Lando's heart to sink slightly as he would be stuck beside Oscar for 6 hours all while trying to keep his shyness from him. Once the plane was had taken off and reached altitude Lando removed his seat belt as as he was getting himself comfortable Oscar decided that now was his chance to try and find out what was going on with Lando and to find out why he had disappeared, Lando wasn't expected this but also wasn't willing to discuss anything with Oscar so he snaps for Oscar to leave him alone, he then puts his earphones in, turns towards the window and opens his book planning to ignore everyone for the whole flight it didn't take long before the warmth of his blanket and the soothing sounds in his ears lull him to sleep. As he sleeps one of his earphones falls out of his ear so his is woken after three hours by the loud ding signalizing that they had to put their seat belts on, once his does this he is more awake and is aware that Will has swapped seats with Oscar. Just as Lando was about to ask Will if they were coming into Lando the question was answered for him before he could even ask it as the plane shook slightly, which told him they were not coming into land. The turbulence lasted for half hour and it was another fifteen minutes before it was deemed safe to remove seal belts again, as Lando moved in his seat to get comfy again he felt the twinge from his bladder which made his heart sink as he knew there was nothing he could do about it. Lando was able to keep his predicament to himself until they were coming into land when he had to tighten his seat belt he let out a small groan which draw him a concerned look from Will. Once they had come into land and had disembarked the plane Will pulled Lando away from the chaos of the team collecting their luggage to check in on him, once they were joined by Jon Lando confirmed what Will had already worked out on the plane.
Once all the team had collected their luggage they made their way out the airport to their waiting cars, Lando was joined in the car by Jon, Will, Oscar and his trainer. Lando hoped that the journey to the hotel wouldn't take too long but with Jon at the wheel he knew that if things got too much Jon would know what to do, luckily for Lando they didn't hit any traffic or delays on the way to the hotel and he was able to keep his fidgeting to a minimum so Oscar stayed unaware. Once they arrived at the hotel and checked in they all went to their rooms, Lando was so tired out from the flight that once he had used then bathroom he flopped onto the bed quickly falling into a deep sleep. Lando spent the next few days with Jon doing light workouts and adjusting to the time zone.
The weekend came around too quickly for Lando's liking, he was a bit excited though as this weekend was going to be the first time a sprint format had taken place at the Azerbaijan track and he did enjoy the challenge that sprint weekends brought, with having one practice session he knew he had to work hard to get the most out of the car, as the team had brought upgrades for the weekend Lando was eager to get onto the track. Lando was pleased with how the car was performing as it was looking like that the new upgrade had brought some speed that was lacking back to the car. This excitement didn't last long for him as he wasn't able to take part in the sprint qualifying shootout for pole position as he didn't have any new softs left which were required, even though Lando knew the car wasn't fast enough for pole he was disappointed to not be able to set a time to see what the car could really do. Lando was further disappointed after the sprint race as his gamble on the soft tyre didn't pay off and he ended up losing places and was also over taken by Oscar. Lando finished the weekend with only scoring two points for the team. Once the team had debriefed Lando headed back to the hotel for a quick shower and pack then he was headed to the airport for his flight to Miami race the following weekend.
By the time Lando and the team arrived in Miami 18 hours later, Lando was frustrated and desperate to get to the hotel as he had only been to the toilet once when they stopped at Istanbul for their flight change and that was nearly 12 hours ago so understandable his need was getting urgent, while they were waiting for their luggage Oscar came and joined him, he tired to use Oscar as a distraction which wasn't working as he zoned out Oscar brought him back down to earth by asking what's going on with you, your all tensed up not wanting Oscar to know he snapped for Oscar to leave him alone, he then walked off to find Jon or Will as he knew they would be able to help him. By the time Lando had tracked Jon down the rest of the team had collected their luggage and the were all ready to get on the coaches that would take them to the hotel, it didn't matter how desperate he was Lando was still unable to find the words to tell Jon his situation as he didn't want to delay any of the team being able to rest ahead of the long weekend. Lando got on the coach and took his seat between Will and Jon without complaining, as the coach pulled out the airport Lando put his earphones in and tried to forgot about his anxiety and bladder, he thought he was managing to keep the seriousness of the situation to himself, it wasn't until they were about 20 minutes away from the hotel when Jon stood up and pulled Lando's blanket from his carryout and throw it over him. As Jon returned to his seat he leaned in towards Lando whispering just in case Lando just nodded. The coach when over a few dumps which caused Lando to wince, he then reposition himself in his seat so he was leaning against Jon more as he moved the blanket fell to the floor which Will quickly picked up positioning it back over Lando. Lando stayed resting against Jon, when they hit another bump Lando's hand disappeared under the blanket, Jon stayed silent knowing they were running out of time but hoping that Lando would be able to wait long enough to make it to the hotel room, this hope vanished quickly as the coach turned down the road of the hotel Jon heard Lando whisper cant and then felt his body go tense against him. As they were pulling into the car park of the hotel Lando let out a sob instantly confirming Jon's surreptitious, so not to embarrass Lando further Jon motioned for Will to also stay seated, they didn't move or speak until everyone else had exited the coach. Once it was just the three of them left Lando moved to sit up straighter and mumbled I'm Sorry Jon shakes his head after hearing this, reassuring Lando that its ok, Lando starts to panic thinking he has to leave the coach covered in his own piss and the rest of the team finding out, Jon has always has this covered as he pulls a change of clothes out of his carry-on handing them to Lando, he takes these thanking Jon heads to the back of the coach to change, while he does this Jon uses his spare towel to clean the seat so no one has to know. Once Lando rejoins them he thanks Jon once again, Jon uses this as the perfect to remind him that at the start of the season he promised to help and support him and that promise still stands. They then exit the coach, head into the hotel to check in, using the elevator to get up to the correct floor for their rooms, they bid each other goodnight.
Lando takes him time the shower before flopping on the bed hoping for a restful night sleep, this doesn't happen for him as he wakes every couple of hours needing to piss yet again, he originally thought it was due to him holding for so long but as the night progresses and he starts getting pain he feels something more serious could be going on. By the time the following morning arrives Lando is exhausted, when he joins Jon for breakfast this is the first thing he notices, Lando voices his concerns to Jon who is equally concerns, once they finish breakfast they go and see the team's medical team, after hearing Lando's symptoms and taking a urine sample from him they medic confirms Jon's surreptitious that Lando does have a UTI, which he is given antibiotics for and told to keep hydration up and rest. When they leave the medic's Jon rings Andrea to inform him of the situation and his recommendation that Lando sits out this weekend to focus on his recovery. Andrea agrees understanding that health comes before racing. Once Andrea finishes the phone call with Jon he instructs the media team to put out a statement stating that DUE TO ILLNESS LANDO NORRIS WILL NOT TAKE PART IN THE MIAMI GRANDPRIX WEEKEND, HIS CAR WILL BE DRIVEN BY RESERVE DRIVER STOFFEL VANDOORNE. THE TEAM WISH LANDO A SPEEDY RECOVERY AND STOFFEL AND OSCAR THE BEST OF LUCK FOR THE WEEKEND.
Lando and Jon return to the hotel, while Lando catches up on some sleep Jon organizes them a flight back to Monaco so Lando can rest and recover away from the madness of a race weekend, when Lando wakes from his nap Jon informs him that they will be flying back to Monaco in a few hours on Zak's jet and it will just be themselves. Lando heads for a shower then starts packing up all his belongings. They then head to the airport, Lando is pleased that the airport isn't too busy and no one recognizes him, before they board the jet Lando heads to the bathroom where he is successful, he notices that is still painful. Once they board the jet they reach cruising altitude Lando gets comfy and falls asleep. While Lando sleeps Jon keeps a watchful eye, thankfully they land in Nice airport without any further issues, Jon is able to rent them a car to drive them from Nice to Monaco, during the drive to Lando's apartment Lando cheers up and slowly comes back to himself laughing and joking with Jon while the both sing along to the radio. Once they get back to Lando's apartment Jon rings someone to organize the car being collected while Lando orders food as neither can be bothered with cooking and as Lando isn't due in the car for a fortnight Jon agrees to the cheat meal. While they eat their food Lando checks the race results and feels disappointed for his team as both Oscar and Stoffel struggled both finished a lap down behind race winner Max. After some more sleep Lando starts to prepare for the next race using his home simulator, after a few days the course of antibiotics is finished so Lando returns to training to keep his fitness up ready for the next race.
