Halloween do over

Summary:

Most of the Passione members did not get to experience Halloween as children, so they decided to have those childhood experiences as teenagers/adults

Notes:

Some of my favorite types of fics to write are the holiday ones and sadly some of them have been lost (Had a tough time with my old computer) so I want to make it my goal to write a Halloween and Christmas fic this year and here we are!
Please enjoy!

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Work Text:

On Halloween, the Passione mansion was strung with all kinds of Halloween decor. Outside, there were loads of fake cobwebs, graves, and skeletons, and inside it was similar, with light-up pumpkins and witch decor. Overall, it appeared very festive for the occasion, and it was the liveliest Leone had ever seen the house. Now everyone in the home was dressing up for the occasion.

This all started when a month back, Narancia brought up the topic of Halloween and how he had never gotten to experience it. Even though Halloween was not as a big to do it Itay as it was in more Western places, it was still an experience many kids looked back fondly at when they were older. Things such as picking out a costume, going around town getting candy, eating all the candy and getting sick to your stomach, and staying up late at night were things all missed by a good number of the group. Other members of the gang agreed with Narancia's statement that they should celebrate it heavily this year.

Even though some members (Leone and Fugo) disagreed, saying they had better things to do and a lot of responsibilities to prioritize, they were won out, and Bruno had already made plans to go to the store the next day to get some Halloween decor. To say the older man went all out was an understatement, but he seemed excited to finally do something like this, so Leone and everyone else decided to keep their mouths shut.

As for what everyone was going to dress up as, they all wanted to keep it a secret from each other, even though they were the basic options, but still, they wanted to present their costumes to one another and show how all-out they went.

Once the clock hit six, Leone was the first to go downstairs wearing a simple dark purple witch costume. He was able to get some designed like his signature style but with one added cobweb design and a large witch hat, and he was wearing heavier makeup than normal. Bruno had wanted to go in a couples costume with him, but they could not decide on anything, so now the other was still upstairs in their bathroom, putting on loads of makeup for a costume that Leone was not allowed to see yet.

Not long after, the next to come down was Fugo, who was wearing a simple ghost costume with not much effort put in. Even his costume had some holes in it, but it seemed to just be his own touch he added.

"Do we really have to go trick-or-treating? Won't it be weird since we're not little kids?" Fugo complained, flopping down next to Abbachio on the couch.

"Hey, don't bring it up with me. This was not my idea, but you know you could have gone to some party if you really wanted to or if you had other friends," Leone replied, not feeling much sympathy for the boy.

"Well, at least I'm technically still a kid, not an old man like you," Fugo snarled back.

They were interrupted before Abbacchio could reply with another insult because someone else walked down.

The next to join them was Narancia, who was beaming with excitement. The younger boy was dressed as a mummy, his arms and torso were covered in white bandages, and his hands had claws. The same was true of the rest of his body, and some white bandages on his forehead seemed to mimic his headband. Abbacio just hoped he had not stolen from their med stash (Even though they did not really need it anymore with Giorno). Narancia was the one who brought up the idea to do this whole thing in the first place, and he was ecstatic.

Before joining them on the couch, Narancia grabbed one of the caramel apples and joined them on the couch, getting all into Fugo's space and mildly annoying the other.

"I'm so excited to get so much candy." The boy was practically vibrating where he was sitting, and Fugo gave him a small smirk in amusement. Leone only mumbled, 'Take it down a notch,' before getting up to get some other Halloween-themed snack.

As the time hit six fifteen, Giorno joined the three dressed as a vampire. He wore an outfit similar to his normal one but colored back and a large dark red cloak. He also wore some fake fangs with what seemed to be fake blood coming out of his mouth, and his ears also appeared pointed. He almost seemed like a real vampire.

"Hey, cool costume, dude," Narancia commented, putting on some music. It was the classic American-themed Halloween tunes, but it fit the theme of this whole thing.

"Thanks, I actually found this cape in an old storage box," Giorno responded, joining him and Fugo on the couch. He was also one of the ones who did not have one of the best childhoods, so he probably appreciated the sentiment being done tonight.

Quickly after, Mista joined the group, dressed as a werewolf. He wore fake fur on his arms and fake paws with a red flannel over his chest. He also had on a fluffy tail and ears. Like Giorno, he also had on some fangs.

"Wow, Mista, what scent did you use to capture a werewolf musk?" Fugo commented from the couch.

Mista, though, did not take offense at the rude remark. "Nothing. Just being authentic to myself," He flopped down next to Giorno, making the couch a very tight space and Leone losing his spot. "Man, this thing is itchy," Mista complained, trying to paw at his artificially hairy arms with the fake claws.

Now they were only missing two people, and it was already nearing six thirty, and they had planned to leave soon after. They did not plan on trick-or-treating for long, just wanting to get the experience in, then going back home and watching some cheesy horror movie. It overall seemed like it would be a fun night, but Leone knew better with this group, and something always went wrong.

After another ten minutes, someone eventually came downstairs. This time it was Trish dressed as a devil. She wore a black corset with red accents and a long skirt in the same colors with compact boots. Her hair was in its normal style with two red horns, and her makeup had intricate red details.

"I'm not the last one down here," Trish asked, almost disappointed.

"No were still waiting on Bruno," Abbachio responded annoyed. He wondered what he could be doing that would take so long.

Thankfully, not long after, the man finally came down. Bruno himself was dressed as a zombie. He wore torn clothes, and his skin was tinted a greenish color. There were also zippers coming out of his face and, next, trying to intimidate stitches.

"Sorry I took so long," Bruno apologized, going next to Leone.

"Can we go now?" Narancia complained, now upside down on the couch with his bandages coming loose.

"Yes, yes, let's go," Abbachio said, trying to usher them out the door to get this done quicker.

Of course Bruno had to interrupt him with some rules. "Okay, guys, remember no straying too far from the group and don't get into too much trouble, and that is the last thing we need right now," he instructed.

A chorus of 'Yes, Mom' came from the other members before they rushed out the door into the nearest neighborhood. Leone sighed as he wrapped his arms around Bruno's waist.

"What do you think the likelihood of one of them getting arrested is?" Leone asked.

Bruno groaned. "Hopefully it's not too bad,".

Of course it was too bad.

It had started fine. Sure, it was a little awkward for a bunch of older teenagers and some grown men walking around trick-or-treating when everyone else was either little kids or tired parents, but they tried their best not to care. Narancia and Mista immediately overloaded on candy since most of the houses were loaded, and even Giorno and Trish joined in, but Leone would admit it was better than what people their age normally did on Halloween.

They were only a couple of houses in, and Bruno and Leone were already getting a bit tired from all the walking, so they lagged while the rest went ahead. What a huge mistake that was.

After a bit, the others got bored just going around houses, and Narancia looked like he was two seconds away from using his costume to t-p someone's house since they refused to give them candy, so Leone thought it was time for them to head back. That was until they stumbled upon a haunted house.

"Oh cool! Can we go in?" Trish asked, pointing at a well-designed abandoned house that had a line going from it, with eerie music and smoke screens coming out of it. Screams of fright could be heard from the inside, along with laughter as a group of young kids came running out.

"I suppose it would be alright," Buccellati agreed, ushering the group in line.

"Yes, this is going to be so cool!" Narancia also cheered while grabbing Trish's hand, jumping up and down.

As for the other members, Fugo was as impassive as ever as he chewed on a wad of hubba bubba he got, but Leone could notice some nervousness in the boy's stance. Giorno was only curious and intrigued by the place admiring the decor of the place. Mista, on the other hand, was poorly masking his fear and seemed to be the most nervous out of all of them. Of course, the guy who would jump at the face of death would be the most scared to enter a house with some cheap jump scares.

After what felt like way too long, in Leone's opinion, they were finally in front of the house, about to enter as Bruno asked for seven tickets.

Upon entering, one of the actors greeted them, telling them a story about how this used to be a hotel where many killings happened, and the killer was never found, and Leone zoned out the rest. The room was decorated as a run-down reception area. As they were listening, Fugo stuck his gum out on one of the prop chairs, earning a glare from the actor, and Bruno gave an apologetic smile, pinching Fugo's ear. Leone was not surprised that there was already a reason to get them kicked out.

They were led to another room up the stairs from the lobby which was decorated as an abandoned old hotel room with loads of cobwebs, a weird smell, and mysterious stains all around. Giorno looked around the room in curiosity as Mista held a tight grip on his hand. They were left there for a couple of minutes, not doing anything but walking around.

"Man, this is not even scary," Trish complained as she flopped down on the bed. She then let out an ear-piercing shriek as the bed she fell onto had a hidden person in the covers who grabbed her.

Immediately, everyone was sent into a panic at the surprise, and the person let out a threatening laugh. From the nearby closet that Leone was standing next to, a person dressed as a rotting corpse came out. Leone would never admit to the sound that came out of his mouth as he booked it out of the room, leaving everyone behind. In his shock, Giorno had accidentally turned some of the cobwebs into flowers, but before the situation could get worse, Mista, who was still holding a tight grip on his hand, also ran out of the room, bringing the blond boy along with him, screaming all along the way.

"Help!" Trish shrieked, still subdued by the person who had now shown themselves wearing a mask smeared in fake blood. Bruno quickly rushed to help her and was able to easily pull her free of the masked person, and they followed suit as the others ran out of the room. The masked man ran after them, holding a loud chainsaw.

That left Narancia and Fugo who the latter was frozen in shock. Narancia was about to fistfight the person dressed as a rotting corpse since there was no one else here to hold him back, and he would probably get sent to jail for assaulting a haunted house actor. Fugo snapped out of his stupor as he saw Narancia about to throw the first punch.

"What are you doing!" He yelled as he pulled the older boy along to run out of the room, all the while Narancia was laughing like crazy. Fugo briefly thought to suggest that Narancia volunteer to be one of the scare actors for next year.

Meanwhile, Abbacchio had found himself in what seemed to be the dinning room where their were platters of silver platter. Faintly, he could hear the revving of a chainsaw in the distance, so that sent him back on the move before he heard noises coming from one of the silver platters and dumbly decided to lift one of them. What was presented to him was a fake chopped-off head. At first, he assumed it was fake before it opened its eyes, scaring Leone shitless. This time, before he ran and chucked the platter at the face, it let out a 'fuck' but Leone was quickly off before noticing.

As for Giorno and Mista, they found themselves not far away in the decorated kitchen, where something on the stove was cooking.

"Why did I agree to do this!" Mista moaned, still not letting go of his iron grip on Giorno's hand, and it started to hurt. Plus, the fake claws he was wearing were not helping.

"I don't think there is anyone in here, and we ran pretty far," Giorno reassured, trying to get Mista to let go of his grip. "You have nearly died so many times why are you so scared of some scary costumes? You know it's fake, right?" Giorno asked, amused.

"I don't know!" Mista exclaimed, but he seemed to be calmed down a bit. "Shit like this just gives me the creeps! I can't stand it,".

Giorno looked around the kitchen area a little more before he heard the revving of a chainsaw nearby. Mista's face whitened like a sheet and was just about ready to bolt again before something else interrupted them. The fridge door opened, and out came another corpse, but this time it was wearing makeup to seem like it had been cut up into pieces and had bits of fake frost bite all over.

Another ear-piercing shriek was let out of Mista as, yet again, he ran out of the room with Giorno in tow. It was the fastest he had ever run.

Bruno and Trish had found themselves in a bathroom area where the walls were all moldy and most of the porcelain was cracked. Behind the shower curtain was a bloody hand and a person shouting for help.

"You gotta help me they're gonna kill me!" A feminine voice shouted from behind the curtain. Bruno wondered if it was part of the act for him to either help her or not.

"Oh hell no, lady, every person for themselves!" Trish shouted back. She was trying to figure out what to do next.

Curiosity got the best of Bruno, and he pulled back the curtain. Inside was another corpse actor that resembled someone who had drowned. She launched herself at Bruno, but thankfully he was able to jump back before she could grab him. Trish was shoved into the sink, where it turned on and started spraying a discolored liquid all over the two of them.

"Buccellati, you idiot!" She yelled before helping him up. The two quickly ran out and downstairs. "Ew! What is this stuff? It's so gross, and now I'm all wet," she complained.

In the process of getting soaked, all the makeup Bruno had meticulously applied was ruined, wasting hours of work.

Fugo and Narancia had found themselves back at the lobby, but this time the front door was boarded up.

"How the hell are we supposed to get out of here!" Fugo yelled.

"There's probably another exit we're supposed to go to," Narancia offered, much calmer and more excited than before.

A chainsaw was heard distantly, but the sound was getting louder and louder. From the looks of it, there seemed to be nowhere to go besides a door that led to the downstairs.

"Okay, we have to find where to go soon!" Fugo shouted, alarmed.

Just as the two were about to make a move, the masked person was at the top of the stairs. The person let out a shout before revving the chainsaw again and practically jumping down the stairs. Fugo and Narancia had a mutual understanding and quickly ran downstairs.

Down there was where everyone was reunited. Someone they had all managed to find pathways that led them to the same cellular-like basement. It was so dark down there that no one could tell who the other was.

"Oh, where were you guys?" Who Fugo could tell was Buccellati asked first, rushing over to them.

"We were back at the lobby, but the front was boarded shut, so the exit is probably down here," Fugo replied, relieved to be back with the rest of the gang and not just the least responsible guy ever.

The impending sound of the chainsaw was heard again, freezing everyone. Trish- wait, no, that was Mista let out a loud shriek and ran another way again. Somehow, what he ran to was the exit that gave way.

"Hey guys the exit is over here!" Giorno shouted, running in to follow Mista out. Everyone quickly sprinted after them. They all felt immense relief once their faces hit the cool night air and heard all the sounds of the outside.

For a while, the gang was spread out on the grass, catching their breath. Narancia was the first to speak up.

"That was so awesome!" He exclaimed.

"Yeah, it was pretty fun. My hand is pretty sore, though," Giorno chuckled in reply. Mista had finally let go once they were outside, and behind were left red marks.

"Ugh, no, it was not," Abbacchio groaned. "Hey, what happened to you two?" He referred to Trish and Buccellati's wet appearances.

"We got sprayed with water. It completely ruined my costume!" Trish complained.

"It ruined all my makeup I worked hours on," Bruno sighed as it was now all smeared. Leone showed sympathy for the other and gave Bruno a small hug.

Before they could regroup to head back home, one of the workers walked up to them

"Did one of you guys throw a platter at one of our actors?" He asked angrily. Everyone started throwing accusatory glares at one another. "He has a concussion, and one of you needs to pay a fine,".

"Which one of you was it this time?" Bruno asked, annoyed at the other members of the group. Leone slowly pulled away and gave him a sheepish smile. Bruno mouthed a 'no' in response and made the motions for everyone to sprint again.

Everyone took off again, though much more slowly and sluggishly. There were angry shouts heard from behind, but they did not stop running all the way back to the mansion.

Once they had made it back, this time everyone was truly whipped out and collapsed in various areas in the living area.

"Abba, what happened?" Narancia asked once they were again flopped down everywhere.

"It doesn't matter," Abbacchio grumbled from his spot on the couch.

"Well, it goes now we can't go back to that area next year!" Buccellati exclaimed, but with much less energy behind it. "Come on, we need to get out of our costume, and then we can watch a movie." Bruno pulled Leone from his spot on the couch, much to his annoyance.

Once everyone was back downstairs (Trish and Bruno being the last ones down again since they had to shower to get that weird substance off them) they put on Nightmare Before Christmas, even though of the debates from the groups if it was a Christmas or Halloween movie. There were pillows and blankets strewn about the floor as everyone settled in to wind down from their night.

It was the best Halloween any of them had ever had.

Notes:

Thank you for reading!

Also, I tried to draw the gang in their costumes to put at the end and realized I did not know how to fucking draw, and it came out horribly, so never mind.

Happy Halloween!
