But love had been this rare and fleeting thing, cast upon friends and part-time lovers, pleaded in prayers wished upon the moon; and now, love had wrapped its arms around him, had peppered his face with kisses, had offered itself wholly, fully, unconditionally.
Zuko loved him. He might have had some inkling or suspicion before, some doubt wriggling in the back of his mind; but now, he could take it as fact, could take him at his word, could take it as the one and only truth. Peace and politic aside, Sokka loved him, and he was loved in turn.
