Work Text:
Gino was currently on his gaming chair, after pressing the post video button on his YouTube page. He had just finished uploading the new A ReGect video, watching as the views shot up.
Gino: "Heh, I sure do love making Minecraft ARGs.."
Suddenly, he got a notification ping. He looked at the right bottom of the desktop screen-
HOLY!!SHIT!! He stared at the notification in horror as it slid away. 10K pesos in his bank account were spent on the new episode's voice line budget. He grimaced, thinking about the future of A ReGect.
Gino: "HOLY SHIT!! How am I supposed to pay the voice actors now?!"
How could he make money to pay the voice actors.. a job? Yeah no.. actually that seemed like the only good option. He HAD to stop lazing around and get a job. Gino typed into the search bar above, his shoulders hunching and his back lazily slouched against the gaming chair as he typed frantically.
Search Query: "jobs near me"
He pressed enter. Apparently there were actual options.. work at a McDonalds for 100 pesos an hour as an employee or work at some shabby pizza place called "Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria"? For 10K pesos an hour as a.. 'night guard'. And it had some weird description that said "help wanted! Please apply now please please please end my suffering" (Unprofessional, right? Could you tell I never formally applied for a job?) With that amount of money, he could pay for the voice actors for the next episode!
Gino thought hard (or hardly thought) as he was contemplating. He decided to apply for the Freddy Fazbear's pizzeria job!

Gino arrived to Freddy Fazbear's pizzeria, staring at the building. It was currently.. he didn't carry a watch on him. Through the glass, he could see nobody there. He gulped and entered the building.
~
He arrived to the place where Gino could apply for the position as a 'night guard'. He sat down in a blue chair, facing the opposite of some random guy in purple clothes who seemed absolutely exhausted. He had a name tag which had the text "Mike Schmidt" on it. He had the shittiest posture and he looked like he had severe insomnia. And was he fucking decomposing?? The job CANNOT be that bad.
Gino: "Uh-"
Gino was blinded as the guy had the AUDACITY to throw something at his face. Gino blinked and looked down, the guy in front of him gave him a purple outfit without saying anything. The guy got up and left.
Mike: "You're hired. Those are your clothes for the job, your night shift starts at 12 PM, bye. I'm so fucking tired of this job.."
The guy left the room and Gino awkwardly stared at the purple clothes in his lap. Weird interaction, but at least he got the job..?
Gino: "Damn, people be hiring anyone these days."
~ Time Skip ~
Gino changed into his night guard uniform and was currently sitting in an office, apparently that's where he was going to work. He sat on the spinning chair, spinning the wheels around lazily since he didn't know what to do. He thought the job was going to be easy, until the alarm clock blared "12 PM". The lights went out and the hallways around him went dark except for the dim lighting of the office.
Gino: "..I mean, I still get paid for this, right??"
He tried to reassure himself, internally panicking slightly. Then the phone on his desk rang. Gino reached out, hesitantly picking it up and putting it to his ear. But then he remembered it wasn't a smartphone and it was some sort of old phone. He pulled away, and a voice came through the phone.
Phone Guy: "Hello? Hello hello?
Uh, I wanted to record a message for you, to help you get settled in on your first night. Um, I actually worked in that office before you, I’m finishing up my last week now as a matter of fact. So, I know it can be a bit overwhelming, but I’m here to tell you there’s nothing to worry about, Uh, you’ll do fine. So, let’s just focus on getting you through your first week, okay?"
Phone Guy: "Uh, let’s see, first there’s an introductory greeting from the company, that I’m supposed to read. Uh, it’s kind of a legal thing, you know. Um, “Welcome to Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza, a magical place for kids and grown-ups alike, where fantasy and fun come to life. Fazbear Entertainment is not responsible for damage to property or person. Upon discovering that damage or death has occurred, a missing person report will be filed within 90 days, or as soon property and premises have been thoroughly cleaned and bleached, and the carpets have been replaced.” Blah blah blah. Now that might sound bad, I know. But, there’s really nothing to worry about."
Phone Guy: " Uh, the animatronic characters here, do get a bit quirky at night, but do I blame them? No. If I were forced to sing those same stupid songs for twenty years and I never got a bath? I’d probably be a bit irritable at night too. So, remember, these characters hold a special place in the hearts of children and we need to show them a little respect, right? Okay.
So, just be aware, the characters do tend to wander a bit. Uh, they’re left in some kind of free roaming mode at night, uh, something about their servos locking up if they get turned off for too long? Uh, they used to be allowed to walk around during the day too, but then there was The Bite of ’87. Yeah. I-It’s amazing that the human body can live without the frontal lobe, you know?
Uh, now concerning your safety. The only real risk to you as a night watchman here, if any, is the fact that these characters, uh, if they happen to see you after hours probably won’t recognize you as a person. They’ll pr-They’ll most likely see you as a metal endoskeleton without its costume on. Now, since that’s against the rules here at Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza, they’ll probably try to…forcefully stuff you inside a Freddy Fazbear suit. Um, now, that wouldn’t be so bad, if the suits themselves weren’t filled with crossbeams, wires, and animatronic devices. Especially around the facial area. So you could imagine how having your head forcefully pressed inside one of those could cause a bit of discomfort, and death. Uh, the only parts of you that would likely see the light of day again would be your eyeballs and teeth when they pop out the front of the mask. Heh. Yeah, they don’t tell you these things when you sign up.
But hey, first day should be a breeze. I’ll chat with you tomorrow. Uh, check those cameras, and remember to close the doors only if absolutely necessary. Gotta conserve power. Alright, good night."
Gino put the phone away.
Gino: ".........glup"
He resisted the urge to just run away. He NEEDED that paycheck for the future of A ReGect.
~ NIGHT 1 ~
1:00 AM
Gino kept thinking about the words the guy on the phone said. "...so you could imagine how having your head forcefully pressed inside one of those could cause a bit of discomfort, and death. Uh, the only parts of you that would likely see the light of day again would be your eyeballs and teeth when they pop out the front of the mask. Heh. Yeah, they don’t tell you these things when you sign up.."
His eyes kept darting back and forth between the hallways to his left and right. He was in the office chair, anxiously spinning around.
He approached the large monitors and checked the cameras. On the show stage, there were three animatronics. A brown bear robot, a yellow bird robot, and a blue rabbit.
He stared at them, waiting to see if they'll move or not. Were they going to? He wasn't really sure. He noticed, that on one of the monitors, there was some strange area called the 'Pirate's Cove' with a sign saying 'SORRY - OUT OF ORDER'. Behind the curtains of the 'Pirate's Cove', Gino swore he saw a pair of eyes inside... nah, probably just the camera resolution-
But suddenly, as if to snap him out of his #observation, one of the cameras flickered with static. Gino's eyes glided towards that monitor immediately, and he noticed that on the shoe stage, the rabbit was gone. In the corner of the camera's limited view, he saw that same animatronic walking over.
Hholllyyy shit!!
His eyes darted towards the little digital map at the bottom right corner.. Aligning the show stage with the other rooms..
The rabbit animatronic was in the dining area, eerily standing near one of the party tables. Then it started to walk towards the right, and.. it was approaching the west hallway RIGHT now. And that hallway led to the office Gino was currently in.
Gino shot up from his chair, searching for a way to stall or stop the rabbit from stuffing Gino inside a suit and murdering him. He scrambled across the room, searching for a button or literally anything. He froze, noticing a red and white button near the west door. He pressed the white one in a panic, but it only turned on the light to the west hallway and-
Gino: "OH MY FUCKING GOD!!!"
The light revealed Bonnie standing in the west hallway, it was rapidly approaching Gino's location. Gino panicked, his heart beating wildly. He pressed the red button and a metal door slid in, blocking the animatronic from killing Gino. Gino sighed in relief, hoping it was finally, really over.
He noticed the buzzing light in the west hallway was still on. He pressed the white button carefully in case he might acidentally open the door, and the light turned off as quickly as it appeared. Gino finally relaxed, but the adrenaline was still there.
~ 2:00 AM ~
Gino returned to his chair, the west door still closed. He remembered that he had to save power- he gulped and anxiously pressed the red button again.. the animatronic was gone? Phew.
The process just kind of repeated until 5 AM. Idk I didn't want to write all of that just incase you'd get bored
It was 5 AM now. Gino hoped all of this would end in the next hour. He'd already dealt with Freddy, Chica, Bonnie and even Foxy (reactively, he didn't know it existed). However, just when Gino was started to get the hang of the job, the lights went out and the office went dark. The security doors he just triggered a few minutes ago had slided back up.
Gino looked around for any place to hide in. He looked at the bottom of the desk below and hid under it. It was cramped and uncomfortable, but it was at least going to hide him.
right??
As he hid, he heard the sound of metal footsteps approaching. Gino held his breath, not daring to make any sound. All th- All three fucking animatronics came in the room.
Gino was so fucking dead.....
But then, they all stopped. Gino suddenly realized something was probably messing with the animatronics... he squinted through the darkness and saw:
HOLY SHIT WAS THAT REGECT AND MOE!!!!!
Gino shot up, forgetting the danger of the animatronics. They were actually all on the ground for some reason. He saw the REAL ReGect and Moe??!
Gino: "Wh- REGECT?? MOE?? IS THAT REALLY YOU? I THOUGHT YOU WEREN'T REAL!!"
Regect: "Oh yeah we're not actually real."
Moe: honk :D
Regect: "We're actually all apart of your imagination."
Regect and Moe disappeared, leaving Gino in shock as he stared at the empty space where 'Regect' and 'Moe' once was. Then he was interrupted, the sound of.. a ringing bell, and the sound of children cheering somewhere? He also noticed it wasn't dark anymore, the office seemed brighter. Gino turned around, noticing the time on the monitors said '6 AM'.
after Gino received his paycheck, he left the building, still in his night shift clothes. He looked up, noticing the sky was bl- it was obviously fucking blue, it's morning.
Gino: "hoolyyy shit. I mean I guess I can finally pay the VAs....."
~ The End ~
