Summary
AU - Canon Divergence
Shane Hollander knows he's gay. What he can't figure out is how to make his coach respect him enough to let him shape Montreal into the winning team he knows it's meant to be.
Ilya Rozanov suffers an injury before the draft resulting in him getting drafted to the Toronto Guardians. Ilya resents Shane Hollander for benefiting from his injury. To add insult to it - Hollander starts offering him advice. Even worse, it's good advice. Rozanov returns the favor and an unlikely if slightly hostile friendship forms.
Three seasons in something changes. Rozanov's career takes a dive while Hollander seems to be on the rise. They both fall short of the cup and Shane makes a decision. He won't finish another season empty-handed, and Rozanov is going to help him get what he wants.
