Summary
Four emails, to be more precise. Four emails, all with a similar subject line and almost identical content. Four emails, from four sets of parents, withdrawing their kids from this year's Ottawa camps. The emails ranged from polite to extremely rude and slightly hostile, talking about their disappointment and how they no longer felt comfortable sending their kids there. Of course, there was no explicit reason mentioned in any of the emails (bar the last one, the angry parents had made their displeasure very evident there), so Shane could come to any conclusion he wanted to, regarding why this was happening. Maybe the parents have to work or travel that week, maybe there is a family emergency, or maybe the kid just happened to suddenly lose interest in hockey (although Shane found that hard to explain to himself; he simply couldn't imagine someone losing interest in hockey overnight). However, deep inside, Shane knew the exact reason this was happening…
The Irina Foundation had sent out emails and an official press release yesterday, confirming their coaches for this year's camp. And amongst all those incredible, famous, Stanley Cup-winning names was Troy fucking Barrett.
