The first time is just after she moves in with Tim and all her clothes are still in boxes. He finds her going through his drawers and then watches as she pulls out an old shirt and some sweats he knows will be too big on her.
“What are you doing?” He asks leaning up against the door. He doesn’t mind her wearing his clothes (he loves it actually) but—
“All my stuff is packed away and we aren’t going anywhere right?” She asks. He shakes his head, and she slides the shirt on. “Do you care if I wear your clothes?”
“Not at all Luce.” Tim says. “I mean I do prefer them off of you.” Lucy rolls her eyes and makes her way over to him.
“Well,” she says her voice teasing. “Maybe if you are good and we unpack a little. I will take them off.”
“Let’s go.” Tim says. He bends down and opens a box. He only looks up when he realizes Lucy isn’t unpacking with him.
“Tim—”
“You said if we unpacked—” He says giving her a look and Lucy finally gets down on her knees. She starts taking out some shirts and putting them aside. Tim grabs them and folds them.
“Tim!”
“We might as well do it right.” He says. Lucy pauses but Tim keeps working and then he pauses.
“Lucy?”
“Hmm.”
“You don’t want to unpack right now do you?” He asks. Lucy looks over at him with raised eyebrows.
“Do you?” She asks. Tim doesn’t reply just scoots closer and reaches over to pull his (her) shirt off.
“No,” he says. “No I definitely do not.” Lucy laughs as he pushes aside the boxes and gently pushes her down.
Screw unpacking. This was so much better.

The next time it happens is after Valentine’s Day and they get home after explosion. Lucy tells him she is going to get changed and next thing he knows she comes out wearing his clothes.
“Sorry.” She says. “All my stuff is dirty.” Tim shakes his head and walks over and presses a kiss to her forehead.
“Or you just wanted to wear my things maybe?”
“Yes,” Lucy says. “I don’t know. After something traumatic happens, I want something comforting.”
“And my clothes are comforting?” Tim asks trying to stop the grin from spreading across his face.
(He really loves that she loves wearing his clothes and she finds it comforting).
“Well you mainly.” Lucy says. “You—you almost-”
“I know.” Tim says softly. They are both recovering and they were told to take it easy. He knows he’s going to have nightmares of the explosion. And he knows he’s going to imagine it in so many different ways.
“I’m glad you are okay.” Lucy says.
“Thanks to you.” Tim mutters and he pulls her into his arm. “I like when you wear my clothes. Please never stop.”
“Good to know.” Lucy says smiling at him. “And I won’t.”
“Good.” Tim says and he pulls Lucy over to the couch. “That’s very, very good.”

The next time it happens is when she leaves for the undercover op. Tim is going through his things looking for a particular shirt.
(It’s one Lucy wears quite often and it smells like her). But he can’t find it, he looks through her stuff and the dirty laundry but nothing.
And then he remembers Lucy grabbing something and shoving it in her bag when she was packing for the undercover op.
Of course.
Her favorite shirt of his was with her. Tim sighs softly and climbs into bed. He lays and rolls over facing where Lucy should be.
She should be here, she should be right next to him but she wasn’t. She was in Baja on the beach tracking down a drug dealer turned killer or—
The fact of the matter was—she wasn’t here with him.
He pulls the pillow closer and buries his nose into it. He misses her, he wants her back. He knows she’s doing a good thing. She’s helping get justice for these girls but he can’t help but feel a little selfish.
He wants her with him. He misses her, and he’s not afraid to admit it. Not at all.
And maybe she wouldn’t admit but he knows she misses him too, if his missing shirt said anything about it.

The next time it happens is after Martin. It’s when she comes back into the room, Tim isn’t asleep he wouldn’t be able to sleep even if he tried. He sits up and watches as she digs through a drawer. She takes the jacket off and slides a sweater over her head.
His sweater.
“Hey.” He says softly. She jumps a little and looks over at him. “Do you feel better?”
“A little.” She says. She climbs into bed, and then instantly puts her head on his chest.
“I’m glad you are here.” Tim says and he is grateful for that. He is grateful that she is alive. He is grateful that she walked into this room and grabbed one of his shirts. Lucy is silent and Tim runs his fingers through her hair.
“It’s going to be okay.” He whispers. Lucy looks up at him, and there are tears in her eyes. “I will be there for you every step of the way. Okay?”
“Okay.” She says but it sounds like she is just saying what he wants to hear. He sighs and gives her a kiss on the top of the head.
“I love you Lucy.” He says. “I’m glad you are in here and in my sweater.”
“I love you too.” She mutters. She falls asleep after that but Tim doesn’t. He just watches her sleep and he knows that is good enough for him.
For right now.

The next time it’s when they are kidnapped and after they are rescued. Lucy insists on grabbing Tim’s dirty shirt and slipping it over her head on the plane. He sees everyone giving her a look but they don’t say anything.
And neither does he.
He just pulls her close and presses a kiss to the top of her head. They haven’t talked much except for a few whispered I love yous. He’s not sure what else to say.
He hates that this happened to them. To her. He hates that he was the cause of it (and if this was way back when he would have spiraled more) but he’s learned his lesson and he’s not going to let doubt overwhelm him.
He’s going to focus on the positives, they are here and alive and Lucy is still wearing his ring. And she’s clinging to him and wearing his shirt.
“Hey,” he whispers nudging her. She looks up at him with a curious expression. “Give me your ring.”
“What?” She asks looking confused. “Why?” He feels eyes on them but he focuses on Lucy. Maybe this wasn’t the best place to do it but—
“Please Luce.” He says. Lucy slides the ring off and puts it in his palm.
“I’m going to ask you something and I want you to really think about it.” He says. Lucy raises her eyebrows but nods.
“Okay.”
“Lucy, I promise I am not going anywhere. I am going to stay by your side no matter what. No matter what happens.” He says. Lucy just stares at him. “I love you.” He pauses but Lucy doesn’t say anything.
“Lucy Chen, will you marry me?” He asks. He hears Angela behind him. And Nyla. And probably more people but he doesn’t care. “Think—”
“Yes.” Lucy says her voice firm. “Yes, yes yes.”
“Are you sure?” Tim asks. “After everything that happened.”
“I have never been more sure.” She says and she pulls him in for a kiss. She pulls back after a few minutes and rests her forehead against his. “Yes.”
Tim pulls her closer by his shirt. It’s nice that she’s wearing it. He loves that she is wearing it.
“Keep wearing my clothes please.” He says. She lets out a laugh and kisses him again.
And he has a feeling everything will be okay.

The next time it happens, Tim is caught doing some facials with Lucy’s products. They were suppose to have an evening in just the two of them. Lucy told him she was finally going to give him a facial (and it would change his life). He agreed only because he wanted to spend time with Lucy.
And he wasn’t worried because it was suppose to be just the two of them. And it was going great and then the doorbell rings.
“Who is that?” He asks. Lucy shrugs and gets up to go open the door. Tim is about to follow when he hears voices.
He freezes and he is about to move to the bedroom when Angela suddenly appears.
“Oh my god.” Angela says. “What—”
“I tried to stop her.” Lucy says looking at Tim. “We are doing facials.”
“I see that.” Angela says. “You look great Tim.”
“Lucy!” Tim says. “Why did you let her in?”
“Sorry babe.” Lucy says grinning. “But that face mask will make your skin baby soft.” Tim rolls his eyes a little.
“Why are you here Lopez?” Tim asks. “We are trying to relax.”
“I’ll make this quick.” Angela says. “I know you two have been planning your wedding and working and recovering.”
“Yes,” Lucy says. “We have been doing all of that.” Tim nods in agreement. It was quite stressful but they were doing it together.
“What about it?” Tim asks.
“I would like to help take the wedding portion off your plate.” Angela says. “You will still have a say but I just want to help out.” Tim and Lucy exchange a look.
“Yes.” They say at the same time. Angela looks between them.
“Seriously?”
“Yes.” Tim says. “It would help us a lot.”
“Okay then.” Angela says. “I will start the planing and I will catch up with you later.”
“Sounds good.” Tim says. Angela gives them a look and then turns around and leaves the room. Tim follows her to the door.
“Thanks Angela.” Tim says. “I—we appreciate it.”
“Of course.” Angela says. “You both deserve this.” Tim gives her a smile and then she is gone. Tim makes his way back to Lucy who just grins at him.
“I should take a picture of you.” She says as he sits down next to her. “You do look great.”
“Funny,” he says and he tips back his head and closes his eyes. “But it does feel great.”
“Good.” Lucy says. “You can use it anytime.”
“Really?” He asks raising his eyebrows but he doesn’t open his eyes.
“I use your shirts all the time so yes.” Lucy says.
“Good to know.” Tim says. “I love you.”
“I love you too Tim.” Lucy says. “I love you too.”
And he likes that Lucy borrows his clothes and he likes that what is his is hers and soon the rest of their lives would be even more intertwined.
And that’s all that matters.
