Chapter Text

Across the Galaxy, the Jedi mourn, the friends of the man mourn the loss. Except Sidious, who is delighted that he is out of the picture now.

Anakin shouts in denial as his bond breaks in his head, he screams for his Master, his brother to respond but his side of the bond is silent. The last words he told was that he wished he died instead of Qui-Gon, but now he realizes how wrong he was. He just wishes he could have told him he didn’t mean any of it.

Ahsoka, the Padawan who was forced to grow up to fast, cries silently as she knows he is gone. She cries for the only father-figure she had, she would call him Buir sometimes and he would smile, responding with Ad’ika. She should have forgiven him, but now he died thinking she hated him. But she loved him.

The 212th mourn the General, muttering their remembrances and wishing they treated him better before. He was a unique General, a loving one. He actually treated them like real men instead of clones.

Bail mourns his good Jedi friend, the one who was different from all the others. He was nice, soft spoken, gentle, and all he wanted to do was save as many people as possible, even if it meant he didn’t make it out. He was sad when he heard the news his Jedi friend had died, and when he learned it was all a hoax, he was mad. He just wished he would have answered his comms when the Jedi called him, but it’s too late now, he’s forever gone.

Vokara sits in her pitch-black office and weeps, her son is dead. Her bright little, mischievous, red-head boy is dead. Why would the Force take away such a beacon of light, why would the Force take away her light? He was too young to go, he had plans that he shared with her, and she encouraged him, stating that she would always support him in whatever he did. She should have called him after the Hardeen mission, but she was so busy with the many wounded Jedi coming in from the battlefronts, she didn’t have time. But now he’s gone, and she’ll never see him again, so she weeps for her only son.

Satine breaks down as soon as she hears the news. Her Ben has died. She’ll never get to ask him to stay, she won’t get to tell him about Korkie. She won’t get to cuddle up next to him as they watch the sunrise together, together like they were supposed to be, together. Tine and Ben, the Duchess and the Jedi, it was always the two of them, never the one. She can’t be the Duchess without her Jedi; she won’t be Tine without her Ben. Never again. She just wished she wouldn’t have said she didn’t want to be with him anymore, because that was a lie, she wouldn’t ever be able to live without him, but here she is now, trying to survive without her Ben. Her Ben who is gone, gone from her, so she weeps till she can’t.

The Force around the whole Galaxy cries. It rains and thunders everywhere, even Tatooine. It doesn’t stop until a few weeks later. But the Force still mourns its bright son. The Jedi who only ever wanted peace, who gave unconditional love to anyone who needed it, and who was so bright that the moment he died, the Force darkened like never before.

The Force mourns, the Jedi mourns, the people mourn, all for one person, one person who was so magnificent and bright, the only one among the Galaxy, Obi-Wan Kenobi.
